How bad is Goff?

Recommended Posts

Not ready to say he sucks after he hasn't even taken an NFL snap. Never know, he could still be a star and Wentz could flame out. As I recall, there was a point in time during their rookie seasons when it looked like RGIII might be better than Luck.

So you're saying they will both end up stinking but Went will stink more? I don't get the RG3/Luck analogy.

LOL. Share the road with bicycles? They want the whole thing and don't obey the rules. They don't call them the spandex mafia for nothing.

Some don't, some do, just like car drivers. And many car drivers, faced with a bike or bikes singled-up to the side to allow passing, will behave very aggressively and dangerously to them. But that's probably a story for another place.

Not sure where you are getting "both end up stinking" out of that.

As for the RGIII/Luck I'm just saying it sounds like people are ready to say Wentz was the Better choice than Goff way too soon. I was comparing it to RGIII and Luck when there was a point during their rookie seasons where people thought RGIII would be better after only a few games.

"So, do you have any special talents, Mr Fisher?"

"I can make my 1970's pornstache dance"

"You're hired!"

Before we hire you, who do you have in mind for DC?

Dave Wannestache.

Interesting. Ok, how about OC?

Ron Jeremy.

I can't think of too many that are more offensive. I like it. You're hired.

Licensed to kill goffers by the government of the United Nations. A man, free to kill goffers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote.

Pay no attention to this, doctor's orders and so forth.

Fisher was a great special teams coach who, early in his head coaching career, always had his players prepared more than the other team - a la Belichick. Something seems to have happened, though - perhaps the game has indeed passed him by. He certainly does not understand what a modern offense is supposed to be doing - Gurley is his new Eddie George.

I'd bet Goff isn't terrible.

It's more about Jeff Fisher being stubborn because in his mind he's still coaching the 90s Titans.

He sat Steve McNair for two years and that turned out well so he'll sit Goff too.

I think Jeff Fisher lost his way when McNair died. That's just my opinion of course, but I think that hit him hard. Hasn't been the same since.

It is rare that an OP poses a question that has such an easy, clear cut, definitive answer:

nobody knows yet; it's ridiculously early to speculate or judge; for all we know he could end up in the hall of fame someday.

/end thread.

it's worrisome that he couldn't beat 2 bad qbs out. if there was a legit qb vet qb in front of him you might understand.

Sean Mannion was like a 4th round pick one year ago whom a lot of people liked and had shown well in camp this year. Do you know definitively that he is "bad?"
