The sky is falling...Bills considering shutting Watkins down

If you want some cheap entertainment, re-read the thread in which Sammy's foot injury was announced back before training camp. Note the smug comments from the zealot crowd as they assured the board no news here, back in plenty of time for camp, it's fun to over-react, and so on.

Ah, the Bills zealots.

As opposed to the "smug comments" about how Sammy would have trouble and not play this season? Who gets to decide what's "smug" or not?

You do realize this is an injury that normally heals without complications in ~8 weeks, right? Sometimes it seems like the Bills fit "if it weren't for bad luck we'd have no luck at all"

You make your own luck, man.

Drafting people who are fragile is an art mastered by the Bills FO.

No...substance abuse tests are only administered between April and August(unless you are in stage 1 and have tested positive previously, which noone knows about until they get suspended after they test positive again and enter Stage 2) and the NFL has a wink, wink nod, nod agreement with the players to "not do those things" during the season...yeah right. That's why if you get suspended for a substance abuse violation you are an idiot because you know its coming and when its going to be in advance...no excuse for it

It seems the Bills have an unusually high percentage of idiots, hence my wry comment.

There is a reason I changed my screen name last night.

we cannot and never could confirm his pain level or threshold on not only this injury but any other he's had. But it can be argued that other players have and do play with not only similar injuries, but others as well. It probably caused some ill feelings towards him if others deal with similar issues.

Watkins didn't seem unusually fragile in college. Sometimes this assessment seems made in hindsight. Not sure it's deserved here.

OTOH, it is deserved elsewhere. Bills have definitely tried to jump ahead in the talent game by drafting guys who have injury or character concerns that make other teams shy off.

Just curious, mrags, what other WR are playing with Jones fractures?

it was simply a statement that other players on all teams in the NFL play with injures and being hurt all the time. Sammy seems to always be too hurt or injured to deal with it. Even though he hasn't missed many games in his career, we have almost always been hearing of issues that he's hurt or injured or playing with some type of ailment. Year 1 it was ribs or something right? Then last year it was a foot/ankle, now we're onto a full on broken foot that hasn't healed in the amount of time most others heal in.

Jesus Christ. This is the one and only post I am making today because everyone is straight up unbearable.. You are acting smug. You know who else is "fragile"?

Demaryius Thomas - hip injury

Julio Jones - Tweaked his ankle

Keenan Allen - Torn ACL

There is no such thing as :censored: injury prone. It's the NFL and injuries happen. Sammy has missed less games than most WR's but our Buffalo bias makes us act like douchebags to our own players.

McGahee, S. Lawson.

Two examples that come to mind.

Without commenting on the rest of your post, I disagree with this 100%. There absolutely is such thing as injury prone players. They are "kitty's" and there is always something ailing them almost on a weekly basis.

And yes, injuries do happen. And so do players like Freddy thy used to play through broken feet, ribs, legs, etc. there's also people like Terrell Davis who couldn't see at all in the Super Bowl but during a few plays but still went out there because the team needed him. Then there's players like Jack Youngblood and Ronnie Lott that have done much more on serious injuries than players could imagine.

The D was a small bright spot holding BAL to:

73 yards rushing

253 in the air (with a 60+ yard missed assignment)

and 13 points.

The offense getting in sync will be more on Roman than any single player. Tons of teams don't have a dominant #1 WR. They have solid game-planning. Good teams find a way.

And everyone calling for a tank. What exactly are we getting? A new QB? That we can start week 1, bury into the ground with poor gameplanning, and then run out of town by week 13?

You're such a miserable person.
