Cordy's Glenn extended

Recommended Posts

Have to wait for his cap hit in 2016,

from Adam S.

"Cordy Glenn's deal: 5 years, $65M with $36M guaranteed. $19M in 2016 and $30M in first 2 years. Per source"

$19M would be $5.3M more then his $13.7M tag price.

maybe that refers to the guaranteed money which would not correspond exactly to the cap hit?

Yes, the same people criticize no matter what move is made....The Bills could trade for Aaron Rodgers and the complaints would be......we overpaid......his cap number is too high.....he's not a fit for Roman's offense...the off-season is the only time I can be optimistic about this team because once the season starts we usually suck.....

And then others can only refute those criticisms by making absurd comparisons/statements.

Correct. Need to know how much of the $19mil is bonus vs salary. If $15 mil of $19 mil is bonus, Bills just got $6 mill in '16 cap savings. Bring on that FA right tackle & guard

just trying to show how ridiculous some of the criticisms sound to me....

Congrats Cordy! Thank you for handling the situation like a professional. Not bitching and moaning about the franchise tag and having confidence a long term deal would be worked out.

Great job front office...

@ArthurArkush

Good day for #Bills' Cordy Glenn, whose new 5-yr deal ($26.5 M gtd.) becomes LT benchmark: http://shawurl.com/2kn5

The way we see it

If people hadn't heard of Glenn before Tuesday, they know him now for sure. And, frankly, they should've already because he's been an ascending player and rock on Buffalo's transitioning O-line in recent years.

Securing Glenn for the long haul gives general manager Doug Whaley and offensive coordinator Greg Roman another foundation piece on an offense including Sammy Watkins, LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams. The question, of course, is which quarterback Glenn will be blocking for after this season. Tyrod Taylor could test his worth in a contract year after negotiations have reportedly gotten off to a rough start.

The Bills spent a fourth-round pick on Cardale Jones, like Tyrod Taylor a big-armed, mobile quarterback with inconsistent mechanics and a limited track record. There's no doubt the Bills offense has plenty of talent for whichever passer it settles on. Having Glenn should provide great assistance to the young passer the Bills elect to groom over the long haul.

I was just talking about us being able to make any more moves this year my friend.

right, which i was saying it is CASH heavy up front but not quite as CAP heavy up front.

when you just say that its front loaded, it doesnt mean anything without clarifying those two points.

How amazing has Whaley been for us?

Seems like ever since he took over, all our key players have been re-signed and any player who we chose not to re-sign seemed to have fizzled out on their new team like Byrd and Whitner and soon to be Mario

He's terrible. Now where's the czar?!?

almost as important are the players he decided not to pay -- Byrd and Levitre, both not worth anywhere near the cash they got in FA
