He was being prodded by a reporter about how McDavid will also be making his debut tonight and, without skipping a beat, said there are a bunch of other guys playing their first games as well tonight. His ability to deflect attention and focus it elsewhere is ingratiating to say the least. I get the sense his teammates already love the guy. I think he has a lot of ballbuster in him; just what a lockerroom needs. I can't remember the last time I was this jazzed for a Buffalo pro athlete's debut. I mean, how disappointing can it be if they don't make it? It's been so long since we've had meaningful hockey. That said, he definitely looks like he has wide eyes this game. It's a little surprising because I didn't think he'd be phased.
