HELLO, SONY, I DONT CARE IF I GO DEAF. i dont want to have to select "ok" to the warning, then put the volume back up again about once a week. (glad it doesnt happen everyday) LET ME BE DEAF DAMMIT. That was me and now I have a constant ringing in my ears. My hearing has suffered for sure. I don't listen nearly as loud and as often as I used to. I was singing "Where the Streets Have No Name," and it was like someone just flipped a switch. No pain. Just pure static. Then it turned into hearing all lows and no highs. Went to an ENT specialist. Gave me a steroid. No help. This was about 10 years ago. Last year I went to an audiologist to discuss getting a hearing aid. Did some tests and my damage is nerve damage. All a hearing aid would do would be to amplify the muffled crap that I hear now. So there's nothing that can be done. It sucks, but I've adjusted. Gugny Posted August 26, 2015 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Whoa that sucks man. Eh. I could think of worse things to stop working. I just need to be strategic when talking to people. Like if I'm walking/talking, I need to make sure the other person is on my good ear side. Or at a dinner, I make sure that the person I'll be speaking to mostly is on my good side, and I just let the person on my bad side know that I might have to turn my head around to hear them because I don't hear well out of one ear. It could be a hell of a lot worse. I've never complained about it. The ENT and audiologist said it's not definite that the music caused the damage; which is why I've never officially quit!
