Do We Have Any Bernie Sanders Supporters Among Us?

Recommended Posts

Now that Trump has all but wrapped the the Republican nomination, the pressure will mount on Bernie to suspend his campaign. All the focus had been on Trump and the messy GOP fight. Now the spotlight will start shifting to the Democrat infighting

Via @NBCNews: Sanders wins #WestVirginiaPrimary

In 2008 when Hillary won #WVPrimary, she noted no Dem had won WH without WV's electoral votes since Woodrow Wilson in 1916.

According to CNN's exits, Sanders won women in WV by 56/40, men 59/36. http://www.cnn.com/election/primaries/polls/wv/Dem

Just out of curiosity, what--if anything--happens if Bernie wins the California primary?

Hillary congratulates him in her acceptance speech at the convention?

(How does Bernie not win California? The only people likely to not vote for him are the residents of Bezerkley, and that because he's not socialist enough...)

Local news reported 21,000 people showed up at the Bernie rally in San Jose a couple nights ago.

This morning on the radio the local Bernie campaign guy was being badgered with 'but you're hurting poor Hillary!'

Go Democracy!

Bernie Sanders Tells Off Andrea Mitchell: ‘Do Not Moan to Me About Hillary Clinton’s Problems’

In a contentious interview with Bernie Sanders during her 12 p.m. ET hour MSNBC show on Wednesday, host Andrea Mitchell hammered the Democratic candidate for continuing to challenge frontrunner Hillary Clinton: “But isn't the bottom line...that she is now fighting a war on two fronts? She’s getting beaten up by Donald Trump on a daily basis....he has been embracing you, he is building you up. He likes the fact that you’re taking her down.”

Sanders interrupted her: “One second, one second. Andrea – no, I don't accept – I don’t except that proposition. Last I heard, Hillary Clinton is running for President of the United States. I am running for President of the United States. Trump is running for President of the United States. And what a candidate does is make his or her best case to the American people.”

Mitchell fretted: “I’m just saying that Hillary Clinton’s – the opposition to her, the negatives against her have been built up by Donald Trump just hammering away at her and, up until now at least, he has not been going after you as much. She’s fighting two big candidates and you’re fighting one.”

Sanders blasted her: “Andrea, Andrea – oh, really? Really? Andrea, in every state that we have won, in 19 states, we have had to take on the entire Democratic establishment....So please do not moan to me about Hillary Clinton's problems. I'm in this race to win.”

In response, Mitchell sniffed: “Well, I don't think I was moaning about Hillary Clinton's problems...”

POLL: 45% of Bernie voters say they’re #NeverHillary, 15% will vote for Trump
redalertpolitics.com ^

Bernie Sanders supporters may be “feeling the Bern” for their own candidate, but nearly half are planning to give Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton the cold shoulder in November.

A YouGov poll released on Wednesday showed that 45 percent of Democrats who preferred Sanders in the primary, do not plan on voting for Clinton in the general.

Supporters of the Vermont senator are extremely divided; 18 percent said they plan on voting for a third-party candidate like Jill Stein of the Green Party, 15 percent would support the presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, 9 percent were unsure, and 3 percent do not plan on voting at all.

The split on the left comes after months of rising tension between Sanders, the Democratic establishment, and Clinton.

Countless times, the Democratic establishment has gone out of their way to make it easier for Clinton to win, from debate scheduling to endorsements, they’re all in against the Vermont senator.

I have to say, as much as I am dead-set against Sanders' policy positions, I do like the man. If he had any sort of executive experience, he'd probably get my vote.

It's hard NOT to like Bernie. I know most on here don't watch Maher's show (and I don't blame them), but over the years he was consistently one of the best panel guests. The guy is genuine and cares about other people -- two things you can't say about any other candidate in the race (or any of the ones who have since dropped out). There's no doubt in my mind if Bernie were to win he'd be in it for all the right reasons even if I disagree with some of his policies.

He's sincere and consistent. Those are hard things to find in politics. Unfortunately, his platform is a bit much. That, moreso than a lack of executive experience, steers me away.

Platforms - particularly domestic ones - are overrated in a presidential candidate. They still have to get **** through Congress.

So you give him a pass for embracing economic policies that have been thoroughly discredited and would make everybody worse off? But yes, his intentions are good.
