@ChrisTrapasso: Wilfork finished the '14 regular season with a +14.0 @PFF run-stopping grade (on position page it says +15) He's remained a key piece in NE.

@RapSheet: Can I still play football? Hell yea! Do I still love football? Hell yea. Former #Patriots DT Vince Wilfork

NE moving on from anyone gives you pause, but I do think he's exactly the type of guy we need to plug into the middle of our defense if we really want to transition to more of a true 3-4. We lack a true NT, I worry about Kyle W. holding up in that position and I think it limits Dareus's effectiveness a bit.

and I keep hoping that sooner than later it will bite them in the butt

It already has, a few times, but they slather the bite with grease slap a piece of duct tape over it and soldier on.

Either that, or Belichek brings the young guys into his sanctum sanctorum to show them his bathtub full of "punk player entrails"** and they're scared into taking their game up 2 notches.

I thought Wilfork, while still good, had lost a step last year similar to the year before Bianca famously put him on a diet regime and he gained a step. He either needs to go back on her diet or maybe he's just on the downhill slide. I do think that note translates "I can still play but I'm not sure I want to"

The Dolphins are a possible landing spot if they whiff on a free agent like Ndamukong Suh (Wilfork was born in Boynton Beach, Fla.). The Bills could make sense with him as a backup defensive tackle in a Rex Ryan spite play (Wilfork might not be willing to play along). The Browns were terrible against the run 2014 and could be a fit. The same goes for the Titans, Saints and Chiefs.

He'll be 34 next year, he's fat, and he had an injury that many never fully recover from. Hasn't had a sack in 2 years. If he continues to play I just hope it's not here. All I kept seeing last year was s guy getting escorted out of the play by a guard or center.

Back in the day yes he was one of the best ever at his position. But that day is long since past.

The Raiders were a bad team when Richard Seymour played there, but he definitely had gas left in the tank. He played well for them.

the patriots seem to be masters at dropping players at the exact right time....

yes they are....

they just refuse to overpay. mankins last year.

revis is next. essentially got revis for 1 yr @ $12 mil ($7 last yr and $5 mil dead money this year).

amendola is in trouble too.
