And it's not totally outside the realm of possibility,

 

He only has one year left, we can afford him (but not much else), plus, hear me now, believe me later, I think Pittsburgh's due for a big shake up.

I'd normally say not a chance in hell but I have no read on pittsburghs long term vision. Without a replacement in place though, it's pretty darn unlikely, but I agree they aren't far from some sort of surprising change

Interesting.

 

Get something for him while you can (the Steelers perspective) rather than lose him for nothing in 2016, assuming they don't want to pony up big bucks. That would seem to fit the Rooney's profile, but at the sake of becoming an also ran in the interim? Just seems too far fetched...
