Fred Jackson: No practice is 'huge disadvantage'

With Buffalo buried below an outrageous four feet of snow, Sunday's Bills game with the Jets remains at the mercy of Mother Nature.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that both teams must know by Friday if kickoff will proceed as planned at 1 p.m. ET at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

That leaves time, but after Wednesday's practice was cancelled due to a driving ban, Bills running back Fred Jackson told NFL Media's Lindsay Rhodes that it's "not looking good" to practice Thursday, either.

Doomed.

Not only did Mother Nature screw up this weeks practice schedule. Next game will be affected as well if we play Monday or Tuesday.

Only the Bills.

Yay, if the game is moved to Tuesday they can lose another 2-game set within five days. From 5-3 to 5-7 baby!!

Tuesday seems like the only option at this point. It gives crews time to plow the roads, and lets the NFL nationally televise the game. IMO, the NFL is better off this way as it gives them an opportunity to get a nationally televised game on a Tuesday night.

This is nuts, NFL needs to postpone the game to allow resources to be focused on restoring essential services to the community and to allow Bills to practice ay least once prior to game.

As stated elsewhere, the NFL is not preventing anything in the way of services to the region and the people who need help. Resources are not being pulled away to work on the stadium.

So? People will watch regardless of which teams are playing. Holding the game on Tuesday allows the NFL to broadcast the game nationally, where as if it's held Monday night it can only be televised in Buffalo and NYC.

@RapSheet

Now, the two options for #Bills-#Jets in the event the game is moved are Washington and Detroit, I’m told.

looking more and more like Detroit

The Bills may be preparing under the impression that the game will be played in Pittsburgh or Washington but those cities aren't in play.

Come on DC! I've heard you soft B***hes on TV and I am pretty sure I can single handily give them more of a home field advantage if they play it in DC. Don't bother writing anything back, I'm wicked tough and can bench 800lbs :nana: .

Extra days have helped Jets vs. Bills before

We noted in this very blog in the past about how the Jets have benefited from extra time and rest in advance of playing the Bills in the past. In both 2011 and 2013 the Jets faced the Bills with 10 days prep coming off a Thursday night game and two weeks prep off their bye week in those two seasons. This year the NFL may have done its best job yet of giving Buffalo a favorable schedule when it came to opponents coming off a short week or coming off their bye. This week was going to be somewhat of a wash between the two teams with the Bills having 10 days to prepare for the Jets coming off their Thursday night game while the Jets came off their bye. That all changed with the lake effect snowstorm this week that shattered all snowfall record totals in Orchard Park and neighboring suburbs as well as the city of Buffalo.

Now heading into Friday with the Bills yet to rep plays on a practice field the Jets clearly have an edge in terms of prep time heading into the game. And under Rex Ryan New York has fared well against the Bills in those situations.

Bills Thursday injury report

With the Bills not practicing for a second straight day due to the persistent lake effect snowstorm, which hit Orchard Park hard again Thursday, their injury report remains unchanged from Wednesday.
