Great receivers make QBs look good

Ā

Orton's veteran leadership made a difference to Sammy's confidence in practice and in the game. Definite upgrade from EJ. Marrone deserves credit to pull the trigger on the move.

yes but EJs passes were so far off that WRs had no chance.

Ā

Besides Orton just workin the kinks and rust off all smooth sailing from here

Ā

I'll give him a pass for the rust but those could have been picked. They were both bad throws. No excuses.....But WGAS? Sammy made the plays for him and we are in 1st FN place with the Cheatriots up next!!!

Everyone complaining about Hackett. What did he do wrong? We have a bad O-Line...Lions have a great D-Line....he didn't abandon the run even though it wasn't working...Tried to throw longer patterns even though protection was bad.....I don't see what was wrong with play calling.

Again we won in spite of Hackett. In the 1st half it was again run, run, run up the middle against a great defense that was stuffing the run. 1st down, run, 2nd down run, 3rd and long obvious pass. Repeat, Repeat. He still can't figure out how to use CJ. CJ is NOT an up the middle power back. CJ's strength is his cutting at speed and his pure speed. Use him with passes and pitches while he is already in motion. Get him the ball him while he is already in motion, moving on the outside and he can move and outrun you. Don't give him the ball deep in the backfield. Hackett just does not show the ability to craft plays tailored to use the skills of the players he has. He creates generic plays and expects his players to execute them reguardless of their individual stenghts. Orton was not great, his accuracy was not great, but he did his job just good enough for his talented receivers to get the job done. His experience showed on many plays, even when it was a broken play. He knew how to properly throw the ball away when needed. His football IQ was refreshing. The receivers really showed their ability if the balls were even close, both Goodwin and Watkins both made great catches on balls Orton just barely got in the general area. The passes were not great, but at least they were finally in the general vicinity, which was enough for our talented receivers to show their stuff on.Imagine an experienced OC calling the plays with the talent on this team. We have a truely talented D coached well enough that they might even give this team with a very flawed offense a real shot at the playoffs. An experienced OC and a rest of this season only hired gun at Guard could put the Bills in the playoffs. I can't believe I am saying this, (gagging, choking, coughing) but is Incognito still available? We need a Guard and an experienced OC NOW!

Orton his Goodwin in perfect stride with a perfectly thrown ball. Did you even watch or were you too busy preparing this post to rag on Hackett

We were down 14-3 on the road to the top rated defense in the league. Offense did well enough to come back and win. It's one thing to criticize after a loss, but after a win can be a bit of a stretch. You seem to ignore that our offensive line is crap. But you are smart enough to make plays that don't need a quality line. Why aren't you coaching?
