Just so people know, we can't just "sign" any player being cut. If we want them we have to put in a waiver claim, and we have 8th priority in same order as draft, so if any team ahead of us puts a claim in they are awarded the player. Once they clear waivers, then they can be signed by any team

any half way decent corner would be a plus at this point.

Agreed. I suspect the Turk isn't finished with the Bills. I also suspect from his post-game comments and from some of the surprise cuts, Marrone is sending a message "maximum effort at all times or you're outta here". I look for us to be searching the NFL scrap heap for corners and safeties, possibly a OL guard or two, and the scissors will snip on.

Clarification, they would have to wait their turn in the waiver order for a player with less than four years of experience in the NFL. A vested veteran would be a free agent as soon as he got cut, and free to sign with anyone.

Eagles released a former R1 pick at Guard, Watkins. Don't know much about him--worth It?http://www.nfl.com/n...adelphia-eagles

No thanks, we already have a center who we know is going to miss games and there are too many abandoned buildings around Buffalo. Every time one went up in flames we would all have to wonder if Watkins' was going to be available for the upcoming game.

There are now Guards, CB's, and a few LB'ers available who look to be an upgrade on the back-end of our roster; in fact, there might be a few players out there who could come in and compete for starting spots at G and CB. Adding a few of the right players could make this roster quite good in eight weeks or so, when Gilmore gets back. I just hope we can integrate the CB in time for New England - as unlikely as that seems.

Took a look a few a of the corners that were released and these are the ones I'd like to take a look at:

Elbert Mack: http://www.nfl.com/player/elbertmack/2507359/profile

Kevin Rutland: http://www.nfl.com/player/kevinrutland/2495335/profile

Marcus Trufant: http://www.nfl.com/player/marcustrufant/2505553/profile

William Middleton: http://www.nfl.com/player/williammiddleton/89760/profile

Darren Woodard: http://rams.imgrelay.com/html/WoodardD_1.html

Chase Minnifield: http://www.nfl.com/player/chaseminnifield/2532913/profile

Mack and Rutland have some NFL experience. Trufant is getting old, but would provide some veteran presence at a weak position. Minnifield would need to be claimed off waivers, but could be a steal if he regains his U of VA form.

Maybe we'll bring in X-Man (just doesn't sound right) Marquette King....

It looks like from preseason the kid can boom them! I don't know if he can place them at all, but at this point, 3 Preseason games in a row averaging over 50 yards / punt looks like an upgrade to me after the shanks we were treated to....

I can't believe the Raiders still have 2 punters on their roster... and 4 QBs!

I wouldn't mind trying out Stanford Routt. Our secondary looks like it's going to be JUNK. ANY veteran presence should help.

Offensively, the Patsoes released WR Quentin Sims from Tennessee-Martin. He's a big target. Very athletic, and sure handed...

I've said repeatedly that I don't trust TJ Graham one bit... Can't understand why Hackett wouldn't want to load up on big targets for his talented rookie QB.
