Bangarang
Good for him. He's been making plays on the field and apparently is impressing at practice.
DrDawkinstein
He probably had the best game out of all the non-starters. His name was being mentioned by everyone in the bar during the game. Is he the additional Safety that Nix has been looking for?
PromoTheRobot
Good for him. He's been making plays on the field and apparently is impressing at practice. ronnieroscoe
If you have ability to look up...I don't have link but soon after he was signed...there was letter to editor if buff news on a Sunday...it was stanford football beat reporter guaranteeing he would make team...called him the most dedicated/most prepared player, etc--he had ever seen during his years covering Stanford..letting peoplevof Buffalo know they got a bargain....looks like that's coming true Found it http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/letters/article844117.ece Edited August 19, 2012 by ronnieroscoe

Lurker
Even better, this is a guy Whaley scouted. Yeah, that was a pretty telling bit of news, given his newly elevated role in college scouting...
BRAWNDO
Fortunately for Howell safety is a need position on the team. PTR Nothing wrong with making the most of opportunities. Great find PTR!!
San Jose Bills Fan
With a name like Delano Howell, he can indulge in post-game cognacs with Nigel Bradham and Alex Carrington… that is if Carrington makes the team.
K-9
Better Delano than Thurston. GO BILLS!!!

transient
I loved him on Gilligan's Island. You're thinking of Thurston, Delano played Opie Cunningham on Happy Days in Mayberry, and now directs movies like Apollo 13.
San Jose Bills Fan
As long as he can play I'll take him That is exactly the right answer. Lots of excellent players with ordinary measurables. You're thinking of Thurston, Delano played Opie Cunningham on Happy Days in Mayberry, and now directs movies like Apollo 13. I think you've got your sitcoms confused. You're probably thinking of Dana Delany who first starred in China Beach and revived her career with Desperate Housewives.
NewEra
I was thinking he looked like a keeper during the Viking game. I think he makes the team if he plays as well as he did Friday in the remaining preseason games.
biglukes
Add me to the group who came away pretty impressed with Howell. Coming from Stanford, he's obviously a smart guy and seems to have good instincts and as solid an understanding of the defense as an UDFA who didn't even have a rookie camp can have.
