Jason Peters out for season

Sometimes I like to defend players from stupid comments(stupid IMO). Spikes,Cowart,Kyle, and Merriman are just a few examples of players who were not fat tub o' whatever and had achilles injuries. When you use your body for a living in a contact sport, you will have injuries. Even when training for the upcoming season. Some psters remind me of "The Wizard" sitting behind the curtain acting like Mr. know-it-all. Plus the following quote from the article seems to imply that he was working out. "The Eagles have announced that Peters suffered the injury during a running session on Tuesday, March 27, in Texas, " Don't take this **** personal guys. It's a game that we watch, that's it, no more no less. Just erks me when fans get personal and don't even know the person. :wallbash:

Helps to have a little historical perspective, Dopey. When Jason Peters held out and then returned to the Bills, he was a fat, lazy, out of shape tub o' goo who hurt the team.

Well, the guy we drafted with that pick is Eric Wood, who's had his share, including an ACL he'll be coming back from hopefully this next season. We haven't fared much better on that front...

That's what happens when you're a fat, lazy, outa shape, tub o' goo that doesn't take care of your own body!

Oops, sorry Senator, couldn't help myself. ;)

Oh, I remember. My point is no need to get personal. This GAME should'nt be your life. You're not getting paid by the Bills. It's a game. I was born and raised a Bills fan, but feel like a little perspective on "life" helps once in a while. don't like it, move on.

I'm not going to shed a tear for the guy. He held out to get his money, he got paid and then we moved on. I am disappointed that his injury will likely cause a bidding war for Demetrius Bell now. I was hoping the longer Bell remained unsigned, the greater the chances he would make a counter offer to the Bills and a deal could be worked out.

Remember, there is no "I" in team.

Normal Achilles tendons don't rupture. Like alot of other guys who rupture their tendons, it's chronic overuse injury. He' definitely did not tear his tendon because he was lazy, overweight or fat. He tore it because of chronic injury which unfortunately manifested in a acute, catastrophic tendon rupture. The guys at Rothman are extremely bright and who knows he might be back by mid season.

Wood? An ACL? Where did you get that? Try broken leg, then knee. As for Peters, my heart isn't exactly breaking over this news. Hope he didn't spend all his money on pizza.

Wow, that really sucks for them...

EDIT:

Whoa, just read this:

RT @judybattista: RT @pdomo: Major blow for Eags losing Peters. Allowed 1 sack in 570 pass plays in '11. Was monster blocker for Shady McCoy

Can that possibly be right?

Bigger loss than I thought...

Shady McCoy and Ron Mexico. Is that an offensive backfield, or characters in a 70's western? Or porn? Or 70's western porn?

???

Kyle Williams did NOT have an achillies injury. He had a bone spur on his heel that was rubbing on his achillies. There is a huge difference. These other men you mention had RUPTURED achillies tendons, i.e. the tendon literally tore apart and had to be repaired. That was NOT the case for Kyle Williams. They simply detached his achillies from his heel so that they could polish the bone spur down to smooth, and then re-attached it. There was no damage to the tendon itself.

I dont want to see the guy injured or in pain, but I do take a good amount of enjoyment from this. Admittedly petty and immature enjoyment, but eff him and the Eagles.

Plenty of guys want new deals, and plenty of guys get them because they act like professionals. Peters and his agent acted like a couple of 12 year olds. And then he shows up out of shape and admits to not playing hard because he's pouting.

Glad to see that the more this story plays out, the more it is clear the Bills made the best move possible at the time.

I am worried that this may inflate D. Bell's price.

It's a legit concern but another question is "to what degree?"
