  1. if he developed swelling but there's obviously no acl tear, he must have a meniscal tear or maybe cartilage damage ( hopefully small) So they will shave off damaged meniscus or resurface bone where cartilage might have gotten torn off. If he needed a joint injection they wouldn't even tell us. those are only procedures that are common and I come back from so quickly. All ligament injuries are bigger surgeries needing alot more recovery time. It's disappointing but it could be alot worse (rg3) Also you don't go to operating room to drain a knee unless he has a plica. They drain UR knee in office either blindly or using ultrasound.
  2. He might have developed this cancer from chewing tobacco or drinking. Head n neck cancers are very rare outside of people who smoke, chew tobacco, drink alcohol or have had radiation to the neck.
  3. This is devastatingly bad news. If its in the bone they will resect the bone unless it has spread outside the bone into the regional lymph nodes or even outside the neck . If its spread and unresectable, there is no cure. For those of you fans that were giving Jim kelly a hard time you should be banned from two bills drive. Im embarrassed to think you would associate yourself with the bills or buffalo. This is terrible news to a young man who has a family. These patients even if the cancer is caught early, which it usually isnt, still have a very hard time with surgery ( usually disfiguring) and radiation treatment which is very hard to endure. This is very depressing news and the only people who arent feeling terrible for Jim are idiots or people who dont understand what a terrible diagnosis this is. Jim Kelly was such a key figure in buffalo sports history and has been a class act since he left I was close to tears hearing about this. FYI while im a radiologist who reads alot of ct's and mri on patients with head n neck cancer, we dont know the TNM stage for the cancer. Lets pray it was caught early but even if it was, Jim will be undergoing a very complex, difficult treatment plan.
  4. he didnt play all that well in Dallas. maybe if he comes cheap he can add some depth.
  5. Just curious if u think fitz has lost the team. The look on Fred Jackson's, Mario Williams and most of the sideline when fitz missed that throw to Fred Jackson was telling. Williams put his hands up like he was saying "wtf" while Jackson looked at fitz with disgust. Coiled this be the end of fitz with his teammates.
  6. you cant blame gailey for fitzpatricks interceptions. you can blame him for not using the more explosive running back earlier in the game. Spiller seems to be the only bills player who was moving fast and hard against the Jets.
  7. i think there is something to be gained from Ftizpatrick playing better in the second half. Im upset with wannie about keeping losers like mckelvin in when he cant play. Aso, whats the point about rotating our defensive line when we need our star ends getting some pressure. The lack of blitzing achievements was disappointing. why go with fred jackson when cj spiller is the more explosive player ?
  8. sorry to hear about your fathers passing. thanks for the link to his artwork which was awesome.
  9. I had some free time and looked at vince youngs career on wikipedia and he seems to have been alot better than the media portrays him. He was picked in 2006 and was on some pretty bad teams but almost took the titans to the playofffs in 2006 ( the third worst team almost making it is pretty impressive.) Until about 2008 the titans had lendale white soon to be replaced by chris johnson. They havent had any all world receivers to speak of. In the year after he was benched, the year the titans lost 6 in a row with kerry collins, Vince young led the team to 5 straight victories. Think about his division, playing against carson palmer when he was good and of course peyton manning. I'm not saying he's going to make the probowl but after reading about the titans last 5 seasons with him, im excited about this signing. 2005 4 -12 2006 8-8 2007 10 -6 2008 13-3 kerry collins played essentially the entire season. 2008 season In the first game against the Jacksonville Jaguars Young injured his knee and was expected to miss 2 to 3 weeks. On September 15, Jeff Fisher made the decision to go with Kerry Collins and for Collins to remain the starter for the rest of the season. The Titans went on to finish 13–3 in the regular season with Young assuming back-up duties.[48] 2009 8-8 kerry collins led the team to six straight losses, then vince young took over. 2010 season Young led the Titans to a 5–5 record in its first ten games while throwing for ten touchdowns with a 98.6 passer rating.[55] During a Week 11 loss to the Washington Redskins, Young suffered a torn flexor tendon in his right thumb, but was held out of the game after he was prepared to reenter.[56] Following the game, Young threw his shoulder pads into the crowd as he left the field, had an altercation with Coach Fisher in the locker room, and stormed out.[56][57] Fisher then declared that Rusty Smith would become the Titans' starting quarterback.[58] On January 5, 2011, Titans owner Bud Adams issued a press release stating that Young would no longer be on the team's roster for the 2011/12 season. Whether Young would be traded or released has yet to be disclosed.[59] Vince Young would finish his Titans career with a 30-17 record (63.8%) over five years.[60] During that span, the Titans compiled a record of 15-18 (45.5%) without Young. As a Titan, Young finished with a 75.4 QB rating and with 54 touchdowns (42 passing, 12 rushing) to 42 interceptions. On July 28, 2011, Young was released by the Titans.[61] wikipedia
  10. can you give Easley and Donald Jones another season before we call them failures? If they both stay healthy and don't produce then at least we know what they can do. It takes time for most nfl players to develop physically and mentally, i.e. Stevie Johnson. Why trade for a new player when you have multiple unknown wr's on the team. I think it's arrogant as an outsider to think that our coaching staff has less knowledge about this teams deficiencies than us at TBD.
  11. What's striking is how most of the marginally productive and good players came from the bigger programs but in general we didn't really go for players from powerhouse programs. It's like the previous regimes kept trying to find hidden gems from smaller colleges. Byrd Oregon Eric wood Louisville K Williams lsu Lynch cal Poz pen state Whitner Ohio state I think you forgot brad butler was a pretty solid player and he retired maybe in his prime. Hopefully nix( the antithesis of the prior gm's) will stick with the battle tested, character guys.
  12. At least most of the hard games are in the beginning of the year before half the team ends up on injured reserve. That way the practice squad can lead us to the playoffs when the team is banged up.
  13. Normal Achilles tendons don't rupture. Like alot of other guys who rupture their tendons, it's chronic overuse injury. He' definitely did not tear his tendon because he was lazy, overweight or fat. He tore it because of chronic injury which unfortunately manifested in a acute, catastrophic tendon rupture. The guys at Rothman are extremely bright and who knows he might be back by mid season.
