  1. Happy Birthday Scott! Thanks for all of the time and effort you put into the website. Hopefully the Bills give you a great birthday present! p.s. 47 is definitely not old. I'm 47 (soon to be 48) and have had one of the best years of my life this year!
  2. Man, you have some weird spell check. : ) I'll take the over, Hughes has no impulse control. I'll predict at least one stupid pf penalty by Brown as well.
  3. Thank you Jimmy 10. To the OP, we're Buffalo fans. We actually know a little bit about sports.
  4. I found this to be a really interesting analysis of what Roman tries to do to a defense. I'm not an X's and O's guy, but even I could understand the analysis. Hopefully the Bills can replicate and/or exceed the success he's had with this scheme with the 49ers.
  5. Before I moved back to the area, I would stay at the Red Roof in on Camp Road in Hamburg. It's definitely not the fanciest place. But it's clean, affordable, and a short ride down Southestern Blvd. to the stadium. As far as bars/restaurants, try Rodney's on Rt. 5 by the lake. It's not too far from Red Roof and they have great wings and beef on weck. You'll get a bunch of other great suggestions from others on the board, but I think Rodney's is an overlooked gem. Make sure to make hotel reservations soon, all of the hotels fill up quick.
  6. Only one way to solve it .... Thunderdome. "Two men enter, one man leaves."
  7. Good, hopefully he can lead them to a win and help the Bills out. I'm not holding my breath though. He may still be able to run, but his passing accuracy was horrible
  8. 1) I sat in seats in the third row at the 50 yd line last year and while they were awesome, I bet the view from a row or two further back would have been less obstructed. I think you're in a good spot with those seats. 2) Swing by Wegmans on McKinley before going to tailgate and pick up some subs and beer, you'll be all set. 3) I'll defer to others as my knowledge of places to hang out around the stadium is limited.
  9. Well said! I always enjoyed watching him on the Bills and wish him the best (at least when he's not playing against the Bills).
  10. Amen. Ralph Wilson Jr. did a great thing for the people of Buffalo with that iron clad lease. Looking forward to the official announcement of the Pegulas as the new owners!
  11. I read that somewhere too. I think it said something about the logos lighting up at night and also being back lit against the black background.
  12. I remember the head of the construction team months ago comparing whether they were going to finish before the first home preseason game to a "play at the plate." I think the schedule has always been tight and while they may not have everything done on time, it looks like all of the major renovations will be done and the rest will be minor sprucing up.
  13. Damn, I didn't realize they were doing this "Showcase Showdown" style. Can I bid $2?
  14. "For the last time, I am NOT Zach Galifianakis!!!"
  15. I decided to do it for the following reasons: Make my wife happy and attempt to get her to come to more than just the home opener Eliminate freezing to the bench or (for one presason game) burning my legs on the seat Prevent seat encroachment Eliminate one more thing to carry into the stadium (seat cushion) Protect my delicate posterior from "metal fatigue"
  16. This is an article I found about the Seattle Sounders using these cards. It looks like you can email the tickets to someone or I would think that you could sell them through the Ticketmaster resale system the Bills already use. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2012/05/14/Facilities/Breaking-Ground.aspx
  17. I just finished visiting with some friends from Seattle and they were telling me about the season ticket smart cards that they have for Sounders games. It sounded cool, so I found this article about it from a couple of years ago: http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2012/05/14/Facilities/Breaking-Ground.aspx I think that it would be great if the Bills adopted something like this, especially the idea of season ticket holder lanes at the entrance gates. The Bills could also use the cards as a way of giving bonuses (food, merchandise, access to special events, etc) to give people more reasons to become season ticket holders. What do you think?
  18. I'm happy about this, now I won't have to shell out the money to subscribe to HBO. Although I hear Veep is hilarious.
  19. Yep, and it's located on the southern end of New Zealand and their winters are about as harsh as Western New York's. The material of the dome is ETFE and is being used as part of the roof in the Vikings' new stadium. ETFE is much lighter than glass (weighs 1% of the same size piece of glass) and can hold something like 400 times its weight. It also allows UV rays to penetrate, so you can grow natural grass inside. Although, I think the New Zealanders have had some problems, so they also added in some blades of artificial turf to stabilize the surface.
  20. I agree that any new stadium built should have a dome. I would also hope that it would maximize natural light like Lucas Oil Stadium and some of the other new stadiums do by having glass above the seating in the endzones. If it had a transparent roof like this place: http://www.bing.com/...selectedIndex=0 that would be awesome too.
