  1. “There won’t be a blackout,” he said. How could he be sure? “I’m just telling you that there won’t be a blackout,” he added. Montgomery wouldn’t comment on whether the Bills in Toronto officials had some way to ensure a sellout. If not sold out 72 hours before kickoff, the game would be blacked out here, because the National Football League considers Toronto close enough to count as a home game. I'm pretty sure that the reason the game will not be blacked out is that the Bills sold the rights to promote and sell tickets to the game to Rogers Communications. As soon as they did that, the NFL considers the game to be sold out, because Rogers Communications basically purchased all of the tickets from the Bills. The same thing happened last year because they did not sell out the Dolphins vs. Bills game, but it was still televised in the Buffalo market.
  2. "The Bills don't need famous coaches, they need good management, good talent, good coaching, and a hunger to be the best." PTR Yup.
  3. Agreed. Hopefully, once Shanahan moves on without a contract, the Bills will focus on doing this right and getting a good GM. We need someone who can evaluate talent, bring in good scouts and a good coach. I'm not sure bringing in a big name coach and allowing him to run everything is the way to go.
  4. That and the fact that Lovie Smith's job in Chicago may be up in the air. Sully said that Shanahan is a "Chicago guy," and that is where Cutler is. I would think that Shanahan would want to go somewhere where he can bring in his own quarterback and have a chance to win. Chicago already has his quarterback in Cutler and have fewer holes than the Bills do at this point.
  5. There is no link, he's just re-reporting speculation.
  6. I agree that he should be given a shot and with Owens hurt, he will probably get it. He had two TD's last year and showed some promise. I don't think that Hardy will be fully ready to start coming off the PUP, but they need to get him in there too and see what they have. Josh Reed's going to be a free agent at the end of the year and T.O. will be long gone by the time mini camp rolls around. At this point in the season the Bills need to start playing the younger guys and find out what they've got (or lack). That way they're in a better position to know what to draft next year.
  7. That's the bad thing about these boards, a lot of people post first and think second.
  8. I think it's one of those steps of grief. Anger, denial, bargaining are gone, all we have left is acceptance. It is truly sad, but our owner does not care about the fans and he does not have the will to admit that he made took the cheap way out last year by not firing Jauron. Wilson is treating us all with contempt, why should we feel any loyalty to the team he owns?
  9. Link Any statements that him being on the trade block might be hurting his performance are BS. He's a professional and is getting paid millions of dollars a year to play football. If he can't get his head in the game and maintain focus, then he shouldn't be playing.
  10. Thanks for the info. I'm going to the game and just this morning was looking at my old cell phone sitting on a shelf and thought "I need to do something with that."
  11. Like it or not we have him for one more year. If he can't do anything with two decent starting wide outs and a good supporting cast of receivers and backs, then it will be time to look elsewhere. No one at 1 Bills Drive is thinking that Fitzpatrick is the answer.
  12. I'm just impressed that the front office got something for him, considering the were going to cut him. For once it looks like they did something right. The Bills are usually on the other end of these type of deals.
  13. I live on Deer Run and the house he's looking at is nice, but it's close to the corner of Jewett Holmwood. So it's going to be noisy with traffic anyway. I would think the owner would want anyone to rent it because it's been on the market a while. I wouldn't mind him being in the neighborhood, as long as he doesn't do situps in my driveway, welcome!
  14. I agree to a point. It's worth it to take a shot to improve the team and get them in the playoffs. It's only a one year deal, so if it doesn't work, you're not locked in long term to the guy. It should help to determine if Edwards is the guy at QB. He'll have a decent receiver set with Evans, Owens and Reed at WR and Lynch and Jackson for a solid running game. If he can't make it with these guys playing hard, the Bills should look in another direction. The only risk is that Owens ends up being a total a$$ on the field and a disruption to the development of Edwards. I hope that won't happen, but I don't think that Owens will give a damn about the success of the team, only about how many balls he catches. If the Bills are successful and Owens is only catching 4 balls a game, he's going to complain in the huddle, on the sidelines and be disruptive to the team. I'm not an Owens fan, but he's a better option than the other receivers the Bills have been looking at, even though he's in decline. He's a jerk, but I guess he's our jerk now.
  15. Thanks for the link to the article. Simmons has been living with diabetes since 2003, and it hasn't affected his play. (I was worried a "sugar problem" was lingo for something a lot worse than diabetes.)
  16. Hmm, I'm bored on a Friday night, what should I do? I know, I'll rant how Ralph Wilson is a cheap bastard who wants to move the Bills out of town. Nobody's ever written that before. Next I'll complain how the front office hasn't done anything and it's almost been a day since free agency started!!!!!!!
  17. I think this is a good move. He's not coming in to be the starter, just come in when (unfortunately not if) Edwards gets hurt. He'll do a decent job and will be more competent on the field than JP was last year. Now the Bills FO can focus on filling other gaps.
  18. He's going to want to much money for what he has left in the tank. The Bills don't have enough weapons at WR to draw the attention from him that he was getting in Indy. Josh Reed is a much better option for the Bills than Harrison at this point. I still think the Bills need a veteran WR, I just don't think Harrison is the answer. Maybe Amani Toomer, at least he'd be cheaper.
