As long as he can build on what he did last year, I think he'll be a great contributor this season (if there is a season). I just don't think he's got the frame for full time TE. mrags Posted May 8, 2011 Share Posted May 8, 2011 I thought that years ago with Hardy. At 6'6" he would have been a monster tight end if he could have picked up about 30lbs. I am in the same boat with cantankerous here. I think Nelson is way too skinny and doesn't have the frame to bulk up enough to be a productive TE in this league. Personally I think we have our future recieving Corp on this team except we may be letting a few players loose. Johnson is a number 1 recieved in this league and proved it last year. Easley COULD be just as good as he has the prototypical WR body for an NFL reciever Nelson and Jones could be our #4 and 5 recievers easily as they have good size, speed, hands and route runners Parrish and Evans might actually be cut or traded for anything we can get. Evans has shown time and again he is not a #1 WR in this league, he might not even be a real #2. Parrish would be great to have for a slot reciever and return specialist but the guy weighs less than my left leg and gets injured just about every season. Whe your 170lbs in this league your EXTREMELY undersized and your going to get hurt. Personally I'm suprised he's managed to stay in the league this long without being killed on the field. He is a WR and will always be a WR, let him build on last season and develop chemistry with Fitz who will for the first time take the majority of offseason snaps. With Easley returning and Stevie coming offa breakout year we should have a very good recieving corps and I can see Evans becoming expendable after the year. Why would we take away from a good thing. Meaning no disrespect and not to rag on you in particular Man, why whenever the Bills have a promising guy at one position, we as fans are all over "let's move him somewhere else..." Bell to RT, Williams to DE now Nelson to TE Is it 'cuz that's what our team kept doing last year (Batten and Moats to LB, Kelsay to LB (oops) etcetera) Nelson is potentially a damn fine wide receiver. Let him develop as a wide receiver. Pick up a real tight end in FA or maybe try to trade Evans for one, and draft a promising one, next year. And no, do not try Maybin at strong safety. He just does not have the biuld for it.....a Tight End has to catch the ball over the middle and DELIVER a blow when he catches it soley on his size and bulk.....making safeties think twice about going all in on a kill shot Did you see what happened to him against the patriots.....he got the snot knocked out of him when he started getting rolling......if that would have been a TE with 35 more pounds on him that doesn't happen But him and Easley are the reasons why we didn't draft a wideout in this last draft....we are set except for a beastly tight end Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That's my take. Enjoy Good post. But I think Parrish stays, just as long as he remains healthy. Parrish had his best season under Gailey last year and was more productive than Evans (until he got hurt). I agree about Evans. Evans gets this season (if there is one) to show Gailey & Co that he can improve on his route running (which Gailey publicly criticized him for) and to show that he can be more productive. If not, Evans will either be traded or cut loose. For those that disagree with this, look at the rookie WR's last year, they busted their butts off and had more of an impact on the team than Evans did. Evans has been in the league for 8 years now, he should know how to run routes, there's no excuse you can use for Evans' poor route running.
