Philly signs RB Bell off of our Practice Squad

The odds of Lynch being traded just dropped dramatically

Because a PS player left the team???? You really think that matters in the grand scheme? Who was the third RB behind Lynch Jackson last year? Nobody. If they want to move Lynch they can pick up a scrap somewhere and make him third string behind Jackson/Spiller.

Still would rather they move Jackson but I am sure they can get more for Lynch.

wish we could'a kept him somehow

I believe we had that option. I think the way it works is a team "requests" to sign a player from your PS. You(we) then have the option of bringing him up to the 53 man roster (& presumably are required to keep him there for sometime) or allow him to be signed. Apparently, we didn't think him worthy of reserving a spot on the active roster.

As someone else stated below, I think this makes it pretty obvious we're not close to dealing Marshawn. Then again, w/ this regime, who knows.

Or maybe they figured they could get someone else just as good if not better than Bell off the street if they needed to. Not that I didn't like Bell, but the only way he would get on the roster is an injury to one of our RBs (who are better).

I wonder if they signed him because they think we might trade Marshawn and would have brought him up to the active roster?

Don't we have an opportunity to match the offer?

Yes, but we'd have to place him on our active roster (giving us 4 RBs plus Corey McIntyre), and I think Bell still would have the option to choose which offer to accept (much like Brian Brohm, who chose the Bills because he thought he'd have a better chance to start here - even though GB matched the Bills' offer).

For starters, they would have to cut somebody to free up a roster spot

I vote for cutting Trent and letting Freddy run the Wildcat full-time. Freddy has gotten the ball downfield as effectively as Trent (i.e. not at all). :nana:

Apparently a few people on this board cares. **** I wish we could have held on to him, it may be true running backs come a dime a dozen but the Bills can't get **** right and this kid look like he had some potential he was my favorite pre-season player and I wish him the best.. Now the birds have two players I will wish the best for..

I'm guessing a player wouldn't be taking a physical if he isn't going to be signed but...

RB not signed yet — 2:58 p.m.

Also of note, rookie RB Jacque Bell has not been signed off the Buffalo Bills practice squad. Bell is flying to Philadelphia’s training complex to take a physical, according to his agent, Manvel Trice III.

I know a lot of fans liked him, but he is now an Eagle.

And we wonder why we can't win ---- If we had the balls to pull the trigger when we needed to we'd have an O lineman & Bell would be the third back in what would still be a great backfield plus upgrade the line . So much for the possibilities . :wallbash:

You got me dead to rights, doc. Would you like to shoot me now or wait till you get home?

Why would anyone want to bring someone home to shoot them? Then they would have to clean up the mess and throw out the body. Better to shoot where they stand.

Cut TE. I was pulling for him to turnaround under Gailey, but not happenin'.

I say cut Trent and sign J Bell FAST. Trade Lynch. Get on w/ the future.
