  1. She probably figured/found out how much money it would cost her and her children if he went to jail and never played football again.
  2. looking at the roster on the Bills site just now, Barkley is listed in the Injured Reserve section. Reid Ferguson is not listed. Shorter is included in the 53. Apparently tomorrow they will more Shorter to IR and sign Ferguson.
  3. looks like the game is on Channel 8 in Rochester. Here is a site I use for OTA listings, tends to be pretty reliable: https://www.tvpassport.com/tv-listings
  4. A friend of mine that I golfed with regularly hurt his knee playing indoor soccer - apparently some sort of ACL injury. The doctor told him if he wanted to play soccer again he would need surgery. Since he could still walk pain free (including golfing) he decided to pass on surgery/soccer.
  5. pointing out what seems obvious to me, but I haven't seen mentioned in 16 pages - What do the Bills ST do on practice days when it snows? They practice kicking outside in the snow. The players and coaches all have a VERY good grasp on how much wind, snow in the air, and snow on the ground impact FG attempts, especially in their own stadium. McDermott probably asked the ST coach something like "what are the chances of making a FG here?", and probably got a short answer such as "money".
  6. hypothetically, he could have missed (or was substantially late) the practice the day the defense was putting in the game plan. if so, somebody took his reps at that practice, and that's the player who is playing tonight.
  7. the WIVB digital broadcast antenna is near East Aurora. most big box stores - Best Buy, Walmart, Target, even Home Depot, probably have basic antennas in stock in the $20-$30 range. I live in Kenmore and pickup channel 4 without any issues with a basic antenna.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I used to live in the courtyard apartments on Sanders Rd, so I have a pretty good idea what kinds of issues I might run into once the construction is completed and people start moving in. Being downwind from all their trash is an obvious concern. IMO they are going to have parking issues, especially in the winter. They'll need to dedicate most of the lot to reserved spots for tenants, which won't leave any spare space to pile up the snow. The good news is I should have plenty of time to decide what I want to do. Most of 2023 will be construction, so tenants won't be moving in until about a year from now at the earliest.
  9. I live in a house next door to the Kenmore Presbyterian Church on Delaware Ave. (I'm a tenant) The church was recently sold to a developer, who plans to convert it into apartments. Tentative plan is for 24 1 BR and 11 2 BR. What will this do to the value of the house that I live in? Will it go up or down? Here's a Buffalo News article with more details, if you don't mind their semi-pay wall. https://buffalonews.com/business/local/plan-to-convert-kenmore-presbyterian-church-to-apartments-aims-to-preserve-buildings-history/article_b29d0236-2586-11ed-a891-e3f6d823c43e.html#tracking-source=home-top-story
  10. The problem with this is fairness. As the season wears on, lots of teams deactivate players who aren't healthy enough to play, but not injured enough to go on IR. If you had 53-man gameday rosters, the team with 50 healthy players would almost always beat the team with 45 healthy players.
  11. To point out the obvious, the defensive coaches review game film every week and grade all the players. I think it's safe to say the players that grade out better wind up getting more snaps in future games. If the number of snaps is roughly the same, apparently those players have been grading out fairly evenly over recent games. Here's another site with snap counts that may be in a more convenient format. Some positions are missing, but all the DL is listed. https://www.footballguys.com/stats/snap-counts/teams?team=BUF&year=2021
  12. missed the cut. The top 25 teams are playing today, -19. Josh's team was -15. Looking at the leaderboard, Mitchell was -10 thru 3 rounds, so Josh shot -5 relative to his handicap over 3 rounds.
  13. I haven't been to a game in a few years, but I suspect people still get there early for the opener, and the "preferred" lots/parking will fill up pretty quickly - by 11:00 at the latest. If your friends can get to the stadium by 10:00, and of course you're already there, you'll probably be able to hold a spot for them. If they are much later than that, you might want to have a backup plan.
  14. here's another article: https://www.tomahawknation.com/florida-state-football-fsu-noles/2020/6/22/21299847/retirement-heart-attack-nick-olearys-fsu-football-florida-state-tight-end-raiders-dolphins He went to the emergency room and found out he'd had a heart attack. They performed corrective surgery and hopefully next year he'll be healthy enough to resume his career.
