Barkley or Geno at 8 Wilson in mid 1st Manuel or Nassib in R2 Glennon, Landry or Bray late 2 or round 3. I'm going to be disappointed if we don't get one of these guys. My two personal favorites are Barkley and Manuel. I'm intrigued by Nassib only because of his history with Marrone/Hackett.

i would not say he got undressed by Mooch. He was not able to quickly and correctly re-diagram a play he had seen 15 minutes ago (and do it in reverse). But he had the basic concept and handled it well. As far as the 30mph winds, that is so overblown (no pun intended). Ive had season tix at the Ralph for more than a decade and don't recall more than 3-4 games where weather was a huge factor. And generally in those games, the team that is able to run the ball better is the winner. Barkley seems like a very solid NFL QB prospect to me and I'd be thrilled to have him on the Bills. I don't care what state he is from or what college he went to. It is impressive to be that he was a very successful 4 year started for a top D-1 school while handling tons of pressure along with NFL sanctions. I liked his answer to "why did you stay for your senior year". He said he made a commitment to teammates to lead them through the sanctions and he wanted to live up to it.

I like Barkley and would be happy with him at 8

Patterson to Bflo seems to be picking up steam. I've seen that in lots of mocks recently.

Chandler is solid. We need atleast one more good TE.

Marrone: Playbook 80% Done
Maddog69 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
worrying about this right now is a waste of time. I am confident that by the time they have a full roster and start minicamps, the schemes and playbooks will be pretty well set. Then they will run through everything and see what works well and what doesn't. They put lots of crap in the playbook that never gets used in games. Relax. Let's save the angst and anger for the draft when they pass up on the 5th round linebacker that is a sure fire hall of famer. -
Not sure why you would question his durability. He has missed a total of 4 games in 4yrs as a starter at USC. Seems fairly durable.

Rd1 - Barkley Rd2 - Barkley's college teammate - Woods Would be interesting.

Another " wanting to sign " Bills FA

I like Leodis as a KR/PR. I do not like Leodis as a starting CB. -
priceless

It is actually just a long winded way of saying "stick to your board". Don't get all worked up about anything they say. Wait and let their actions ruin your day.

I don't think they would franchise Levitre even if they got Byrd signed today. I think they will negotiate with Levitre and he will have to decide if he wants to stay here for below market value or sign with the highest bidder (which I don't think will be Buffalo). I like Levitre and think he is good, but I think spending 8-9m on a G is not something the Bills can afford to do.

Tarvaris Jackson re-signs with Bills

cutting him does not help much with the cap but what it saves is over $7 million in actual dollars. -
Tarvaris Jackson re-signs with Bills
Maddog69 replied to scurdog1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could be wrong (i usually am. LOL). But my gut tells me that re-signing TJax is an indication that Fitz is not willing to accept a reasonable restructure. Now that they have TJax signed as a veteran backup/placeholder, they can play hardball with Fitz and cut him if he refuses to accept their terms. If Fitz stays, we have 2 solid veterans along with whatever rookie QB they undoubtedly will draft. If Fitz goes, they still have Jackson and can easily find a 3rd qb from the other available veterans (Moore, Campbell, Stanton, etc) -
Mike Pettine be looking for in a safety?
Maddog69 replied to bernie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking the same thing. I could see them trade Byrds rights or let him walk and then sign Landry. Landry wants $6m per year, can we really afford two safeties in that ballpark of salary? -
Dillusions of an Armchair GM, v. 1-1
Maddog69 replied to Armchair GM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be perfectly satisfied with all of the moves you suggest. I don't expect all of them to happen but it is fun to speculate. I have to admit I chuckled at the following two quotes from your original post: "If I was an "expert," I'd be employed by the NFL, not the government" and "I always liked Johnson" -
BREAKING: Bills release Nick Barnett
Maddog69 replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. Two decent veterans. I'm a bit surprised that they are getting cut now. I would not have been surprised if they were final cuts at roster cutdown time, but getting cut this early is surprising since neither provides big cap savings. Oh well, let the roster shuffle begin. Maybe making room for the incoming influx of former Jets? -
QBs are getting ready for the combine
Maddog69 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 questions: 1.) What if they cannot find a trade partner who wants to move up? and 2.) What happens if they trade down a few spots and then another team grabs Nassib before our new pick? -
agree 100%. I've had season tickets for over a decade and I love going to games even though the product on the field has sucked for as long as I've had tickets. But if they bring in Vick, I would have a really, really difficult time rooting for this team. I would strongly consider cancelling my tickets, but in the end I would probably just not go to the games. I really don't want Vick on this team.

What two QB'S do we draft and in what rounds?
Maddog69 replied to Dat Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't understand this line of thinking. Over the last month the names/rankings for these Qbs has flip flopped all over the place amongst 'draft experts" and mock drafters and message board members. Some people have Nassib in the top 10 of the draft. Some have him in the 5th round. Same for Glennon and the others. My thinking is very different from yours with regard to Nassib. Let me start by saying that I know nothing about him and have no clue if he has the skills to be an NFL QB. My thinking is this: Marrone and Hackett are at the beginning of their NFL careers and are in a position to get any QB they want (within reason). They have had Nassib for 3 years and now him more than anyone else in the football world. If they have enough faith in him to take him at 8 and hitch their NFL caeers to his arm, that is very exciting to me. Scary for sure. But very exciting. -
This is the exact same thing people said about Tom Brady going into the draft. I'm not saying Nassib compares to Brady. I'm saying that nobody knows for sure about any of these guys.

Wow. I cannot even fathom a scenario where no QB is taken in the top 15.
