No. No additional money is owed to him from the Bills. His salary and bonuses from the upcoming season were not guaranteed. Any dead money on our Cap is fronm the bonus money that was already to him and was to be prorated over the length of the contract.

People said the same about Jake Locker for years. Then in his senior season, he was mediocre and dropped. Nobody has any clue what is going to happen with next years crop of QB prospects. It seems to be a "grass is always greener" scenario. I think we should be picking the best QB prospect we can get our hands on each year until one of them proves he is good. We definitely are not going to get a good QB if we never draft one.

Good thing we don't have a game this weekend. We are also fortunate that: 1.) most of those players sucked so it is addition by subtraction 2.) there are still tons of free agents looking for work. The free agency period started less than 1 week ago and the Bills have money to spend 3.) The NFL Draft is still to come. That should deliver a start or 2 Bottom line: I understand that we would all have wanted for the Bills to be more active so far in Free agency, but there is plenty of time and opportunity left for them to upgrade the roster. If we head into the season with a bunch of question marks, then I will panic. In all honesty, this is a rebuilding year again. My expectations for the upcoming season are very low. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised but not expecting it.

I do not believe there is any chance that Barkley lasts until our pick in Rd2. I could be wrong. I though the same about Cordy Glenn last year. I think you should be putting Buffalo at 100% lock for QB in Rd1 no matter who is off the board before we pick. I really feel like there is no chance the Bils will select anything other than QB at 8. I could be 100% wrong. It has happened before. But that is my opinion as of right now.

It could have worked both ways though. The threat of the QB keeping the ball and running it himself might have softened the defense a bit and made it easier for the RBs to gain big yardage.

The national sports guys on Twitter (Schefter, Brandt, LaConfora, etc) have been saying that AZ is unlikely to to go in Rd1. I have no idea if that is the case, but that is what they are saying. This draft is going to be interesting. There could be 2-3 QBs taken in the top 10. There could be 0 taken in the top ten. I'm thinking the Bills are a lock to take one at 8. I think they;ll take whichever one is left between Barkley and Smith. If they both go before us, the Bills will panic and take Nassib or Wilson. Thats strictly my opinion.

You're argument is idiotic. None of the same people who made any of those previous trades or player evaluations are currently involved with the Bills. It is very possible the current crop of people involved will F it up like the previious deal, but the previous deals have no bearing on this one. Until you have a franchise QB, you have to be aggressive in trying to get one. I don't the Bills for those previous attempts. I fault Buddy for not making any attempts in the last several years. If they aggressively go after a QB they identify as that potential Franchise QB, that will be fine with me. I agree with the people that would not want to trade our #1 pick next year. 1) because the QBs next yr look very good and 2) because I expect the Bills to struggle again this year regardless of who the QB is so we will have a VERY high pick.

I was looking at the Bills depth chart and I found it interesting that they have Ron Brooks listed as a SS. They have McKelvin as the starter opposite Gilmore with Aaron WIlliams as a backup. The other interesting one was Carrington at DT. I thought he would be at DE. Nothing earth shattering. It just caught my eye.

We just signed Lawson. I think he and Dansby would be playing the same spot right? SLB. I would have loved to see them sign Dansby but I think Lawson precludes that. We should be considering the other LB that Miami cut (Burnett)

somebody posted on twitter yesterday that Bryan Scott has almost identical stats to Goldson (actually slightly better) with half of the snaps. Yet he makes $750k and is disliked by many fans and Goldson makes $8m per yr. Crazy how perception is more important than reality. I would not want the Bills to pay Byrd anywhere close to what Goldson just got. Plenty of good safeties available at far more reasonable prices.

I haven;t seen anybody on this board disrepect Andy Levitre. I haven;t seen one negative comment about him. Everybody seems to love Andy and respect his play. He is a very good OG. There is not one person on this board who would not be thrilled if the Bills were able to re-sign him and bring him back. There is no debating that he will be tough to replace. That being said, it would have been a very bad decision for the BIlls to pay Andy 7.8m per year

Agreed. He definitely has not lived up to first round hype (although he was a reach at the time he was picked anyways). But in the last 2 years, he has started to perform at a decent level. I'd be fine with the Bills signing him.

Solid signing as long as they didn't give him $8m per year. Keep them coming. We need to sign atleast 1 or 2 more LBs, an OL, TE, WR, QB and CB And then draft one of each.

Sounds like they cut him to free up money to bring back Mike Devito. The Jets are really blowing things up and starting over. I cannot believe they did not dump Rex.

I saw a Twitter this morning that Takeo Spikes told an ESPN radio interviewer that Buffalo has the best fans in the NFL. Pretty cool of him to say, but I just started to wonder. We need LBs. He knows this. He's a UFA. Maybe he was just trying to butter up the Bills FO to get them to make an offer?

I don;t think Harrison is at a point in his career where he will command huge money. He will likely go to a contending team at a discount (GB, NE, SF, Sea, Wash)
