  1. This would be a fantastic draft
  2. With expectations like this, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. a handful of draft picks around the league come in and have an immediate impact, but to expect it from every one of our picks is not reasonable in my opinion. I am expecting it to take a year or two for Marrone to build "his" team. I'm expecting 2013 to be another unspectacular year record-wise and I think we will be drafting very highly again next year. But I feel like they might finally be heading in the right direction.
  3. I 100% agree with your comment regarding taking a guard at 8, but I have an issue with the highlighted part. Te problem is that no player available in the draft is a finished product, there is no way of knowing if Eric Fisher will be a dominating left tackle, or if Manti Te'o will be a domination linebacker, or if Ryan Nassib will be a mediocre QB. NOBODY KNOWS FOR SURE. Unfortunately, you don't get the chance to draft guys after they've made a pro bowl. The draft is a crap shoot. Tons of guaranteed hall of famers from Rd1 turned into busts. Tons of UDFA's became stars.
  4. Levitre got overpaid. I'm fine with not signing him. Rhinehart sucked. I'm fine with not signing him. That said, I'm concerned with the lack of signings since we have lots of holes to fill. That being said, I do expect them to add a few more UFA's heading into the draft and beyond. I wonder if they are focussing on re-signing key players to extensions (Byrd, Spiller, Wood, etc) before committing money and cap space to UFA's.
  5. I would much rather take an OL at 8 over a Safety. I have a semi-irrational aversion to drafting safeties in the top 10.
  6. Tim was more "informative" to Bills fans because he's a Buffalo guy and had some background knowledge of the Bills. I would bet that Fans in NE, NYC and Miami would have found Timmy quite clueless about their teams. That said, Tim's level of snark towards the Bills was higher than any of the other AFC East teams, IMHO. Bottom line for me is that these ESPN Blogs are fairly useless. Any actual news or info posted there was already previously reported elsewhere.
  7. I saw this on Twitter yesterday. I wish we would have kept him. I always liked him.
  8. Buddy lost more football knowledge in his morning dump today and any of else will ever have.
  9. kabeer gbaja-biamila
  10. I always got a kick out of Reggie Tongue's name. I remember watching a Chief's game and the comentator describing Reggie hitting a WR: "Tongue really put a lick on him" I laughed for 10 minutes.
  11. The Bills can't win with some "fans". If they don't sign anybody, they are cheap and don't want to win. If they do sign somebody, they either overpaid, signed garbage noone wanted or are just "trying to make a splash"
  12. 100% agree, I love Freddy, But he has zero trade value. He brings far more value to the team as a backup/insurance policy for CJ
  13. If the Bills signed him, they would be ridiculed. Pats sign him and they are geniuses and we are doomed. Good god, make it stop.
  14. I fully expect Kolb to be the starter on opening day (assuming he makes it through camp without getting injured). But I really don't think salary will have anything to do with it. If TJax outperforms Kolb, I think he starts. If the rookie is ready, he starts. I see a true competition with Kolb placed in the lead at the beginning but not locked in. Im interested to see how much guaranteed money he gets. He might not be on the opening day roster if the guaranteed money is not significant.
  15. He was super hyped when he was in the draft. Everyone seemed to thing he was going to be a beast. More proof that you cannot believe all of the draft rankings. Bottom line is, nobody really knows. Even the geniuses (Belicheck, Parcells, Walsh (coincidendally all have the first name of Bill)), have a ton of misses in the draft
  16. Davis and Ogden both played OT not G.
  17. definition of reach is taking a guy higher than he grades out
  18. somebody posted earlier that there was contract language that was rejected by the league and had to be rewritten.
  19. I would not be happy with a OG in the top 10 with the other needs we have. They need to get an impact player. I want Geno Smith or a WR (Patterson/Austin) or a LB (I love Mingo)
  20. They did show the one fumbled snap that Geno had in a bowl game
  21. If this is what you are looking for, shouldn't you prefer Tavon Austin? Patterson seems more like the guy for long bombs and big redzone targets.
  22. after watching the show yesterday and hearing Gruden and Geno talk about the uptempo offense he ran and then seeing the comments this morning from Kevin Kolb about the uptempo offense the Bills are planning makes me think maybe Geno is the target? It scares the crap out of me, but I think this might be the guy they are going after.
  23. I don't think there is anyone on earth (except for Kevin Kolb's mother) who is locking him in as the Bills starter for any lenth of time and/or expecting great thngs from him. My thinking is that he has potential to be decent when he is healthy. Why not bring him in and let him compete with TJax and a rookie. Whomever wins the job is camp is the starter for the short term with the long term goal of having the rookie take over when he is ready. Maybe we get lucky and Kolb grabs the job and kicks ass. More likely, he performs OK for 6 weeks and then gets injured. Either way, I think it is worth a shot. As far as wanting Brad Smith to be in the QB competition, I think that is just silly. He is not an NFL QB (nor is he a viable NFL WR, but that's another discussion).
  24. well, we've had Trent to Stevie for a 2yd gain on 3rd and 9. We've had Fitz to Stevie for a loss-clinching interception. May as well give Kolb a chance.
