  1. Well...Orton was not good enough in that area either...So... Go back and look at the tape...EJ struggles in this area and left HUGE plays on the table due to it...More importantly in closed quarters when all they needed was a quick accurate pass EJ was all too often off target...Slightly behind...too low...too high...Those are drive killers when they should be simple pitch and catch... I'm not saying EJ can't improve in this area...I was not really on-board with benching EJ anyway...Though I understood why Marrone did it...But he has to get much better at simply hitting receivers in stride...If he does the sky is the limit for him...
  2. I know I've said this a million times here...But if EJ had simply hit 50% of the passes to receivers in stride who were open when he read the Defense properly instead of throwing too low, too high, behind them, etc...He'd be a top 15 QB easily...He has every single intangible necessary to be a good NFL QB except the ability to consistently hit open receivers in stride...Every NFL QB makes mistakes, throws into coverage, gets hurried due to pass rush, etc...Every single one of them...But the good ones burn you when they properly read the Defense and have an open receiver...That's the area EJ HAS to improve...The low and high passes, throwing behind open receivers, especially on 3rd down...That has to go...
  3. True...No question... Outside of Luck and Wilson you have to go all the way back to 2008 and Matt Ryan to find a top 15 QB Drafted into the league... That's 3 top 15 QB's in 8 Drafts... No getting around it...That's not good...
  4. He wants to fire the water boy! The freaking water boy!...That's hardcore!
  5. Well...Here we go then...This kind of simplified things a bit...In a crazy way...
  6. Sal needs to have his own show...preferably in the afternoon...Schopp and Bulldog have been there forever...but Sal is more talented and more informed...He's actually not bad on hockey either...It's hard to imagine the decision makers at WGR don't recognize Sal needs to be elevated soon...
  7. Not sure how I feel about this... Depends on in what capacity...I don't think he would remove Marrone...And I don't want Whaley gone...So this worries me...
  8. Exactly... But more than anything it was just a blatantly bad no-call...EJ could have gone on and threw a pick on the next play too...Who knows? But that was about as clear illegal contact as it gets in the NFL...It just drove me nuts that did not get called as blatant as it was...
  9. After thinking about this for a while I just wonder if it's possible that the organization as a whole feels it would be best for EJ to enter the 2015 season with a relatively clean slate?...Is it at all possible that they realize behind this O-Line, with no running game whatsoever, and going into the place that has literally been like hell on earth for this team for well over a decade, it would be WAY too much to ask of EJ at this point?...And hoping that he could pull out a miracle is just not worth the gamble of further deflating his confidence... I'm not saying that's what is going on behind the scenes because I really have no idea...Just wondering...Because I'm not buying that Marrone is really that convinced that Orton clearly gives the Bills the best chance to win...Not because I think EJ is that much better, or anything like that...Simply because between the two of them I just can't see how one truly gives us a better chance at the almost impossible than the other...
  10. I think it's partially fair...I think Whaley, Nix and Marrone were all in on EJ... But to me the blame concerning EJ lands more on Marrone/Hackett than anyone...Because regardless of what they want to say now about the plan with Kolb and all that, EJ easily looked like the best QB the Bills had from day #1 in Camp his rookie year...Marrone and Hackett were never able to design an offense that could take the pressure off EJ and allow him to develop at a decent pace...And I'm not saying that is an easy thing to do in the NFL where QB's are so important...But still...Marrone/Hackett could not get the job done regardless... I would love to see a REAL legit offensive mind come in here and have a crack at resurrecting EJ...Not necessarily because I believe it can be done, rather because I'm ultra curious exactly how bad Marrone and Hackett actually are...I know this much though...They knew the best way to help EJ was to build a dominant running game...And despite having a pretty decent stable of RB's they failed miserably in that area...A run first offense that can't run...Regardless of EJ's issues, which basically revolved around his inability to hit open receivers in stride, that did not help him (or this Bills team with an above average defense) whatsoever...
  11. Agreed 100%... Beckham's production in only 11 games this year is beyond impressive...Add to that the fact that he's a rookie and it's even more amazing... Hindsight is always 20/20...And there's quite a bit to love about Sammy...But I'd take Beckham and our #1 in 2015 in a half-a-heartbeat now...
  12. All due respect to Sammy who I love as a player...But I felt Mike Evans would be the best WR from the 2014 Draft... I really had no idea Beckham would be this good, this early...He's an amazing young talent, and the fact that I can sit here right now and consider comparing him to Watkins and Evans shows how wrong I was about that kid...I'm not saying he's going to be better than Sammy either...I'm just saying I had no idea he would be this good...
  13. For me personally this year there was nothing worse than the no-call on that last offensive play in the Texans game...You will not find a more obvious example of illegal contact by a DB...It could have been called PI as well...That play stuck with me all year...I'm still pissed... As far as other grievances go...I know the Bills offense as a whole has given me an absolute ton of agita this year...A run first offense that can't run...So there's that...
  14. I agree with the pride thing...But if they are truly worried about Orton opting out when he's clearly...I mean absolutely not good enough...Well...That would be ridiculous.... They better have a better plan than Orton...Or we're in big trouble...again...
  15. Not sure if anyone caught Marcellus Wiley on the Dan Le Batard radio show the other night...I think it was last Friday...But Wiley said he was contacted twice out-of-the-blue by people he really trusted, neither knowing that the other had called, and both told him Harbaugh to Michigan was all but a done deal...The only remaining bump was getting out of the San Fran deal clean...Wiley seemed pretty convinced these sources were solid...He did say Harbaugh has time to change his mind...But apparently he's really draw towards the opportunity to turn his Alma Mater around...And he's getting HUGE pressure from all his Michigan buddies to do so... Go Blue...
  16. He's on record already that he intends to stay for his Sr year...He may change his mind...But all I've heard is he's staying...
  17. We'll see...I hope you're right...
  18. No question the D improved...but I don't think Marrone was too responsible for it... The Offense is Marrone and that kid's baby...And it was just putrid at times despite the fact that Sammy is a stud and they seemingly have some talent on that side... The Bills lost some games they should have won (KC, Houston, Oakland) and they won a couple they should have lost (Minnesota and Detroit)...So in the end that's basically a wash... They were better this year because their Defense is loaded with talent and they really improved on that side, especially vs the run...I give Whaley and Schwartz the the bulk of the credit for the +2 win outcome this year...Marrone would have found his way to 10 + losses without that Defense...That much I'm pretty sure about...
  19. A complete overhaul on Offense is needed...And that means Marrone, Hackett, and Orton have to go...The O-Line needs some help as well... If I believed Marrone was capable of turning his Offense over to a legit NFL OC like he's done with Schwartz and Pettine on Defense that I would give him a chance to return...but I know that's not going to happen...And I don't think he's good enough anyway...So what's the use?
  20. So... Seeing as though this was exactly the type of performance that has disallowed Playoff appearances for 15 seasons now...Can we put this whole culture change thing to rest once and for all?... What does it matter really? I don't disagree that some things have changed at OBD for the better over the past two years...But in the end they dropped a must-have-game to a 2...now 3 win team...Culture change or not this HC is not good enough and his Offense looks absolutely terrible at times...Just awful...And he's an Offensive HC...At least that was the rumor...That's all I care about...They're not good enough...again...And they lose games they should absolutely win...again...And they're out of the Playoffs...again... Brandon can have his culture change and still get a HC that is good enough to make a difference where it counts...In wins and losses...This was a wasted season with a roster that is absolutely good enough to get at least the 6th seed in the Playoffs...But Marrone and that kid OC can't cut it enough when they have to...They got out coached today by Tony-freaking-Sparano... And here we go again... What a joke...
  21. Considering the fact that Chandler was already blocking his man trying to set up a wall...I'm not so sure that's accurate...
  22. Did they really just call a 2 yard crossing route on 3rd and 10 or was that my imagination?...
  23. Not sure how a #78 overall project can be labeled a bust considering something like 13% of 3rd round WR picks make at least 2 Pro Bowls...Also, something like 25% of 3rd round picks start for more than half their NFL careers...I once read somewhere that 6% of 3rd round picks end up starting for 5 years or more in the NFL...The odds are not good... If Goodwin does not pan out he's not a bust...He would actually be in the clear majority of 3rd round draft picks who hang around the NFL for a few years as back-ups and never really amount to much...
