  1. I tend to agree...I've said all along the chances are great that Hackett was in well above his head...And that's just a statement based in pure logic...You don't need to be a football guru to understand the jump from SU OC to NFL OC is a big, big, jump...That cannot be denied...I'm quite sure there are wiz kids who are capable of the jump...It does not seem to me, at least at this point, that Hackett is one of those wiz kids...This turn-back-the-clock Offensive approach is the perfect formula for losing close games in today's NFL... And if I hear one more reference here to the Seahawks approach on Offense I'm going to projectile vomit...That Offense may be run first, but they are always looking to push the ball down the field when the opportunity presents itself...They are like snipers...They wait, and then they hit you...Hard!...And they are relentless in their approach...They are the proverbial sharks with blood in the water...This Bills Offense is absolutely nothing like the Seahawks in actual execution...Nothing... Preseason or not I would challenge any Bills fanatic to prove to me this Offense looks any different than the one we saw in the regular season last year...They are going to try to pound the ball on 1st and 2nd down, and hope for manageable 3rd downs where EJ can take a 3-step and complete a short pass...The ball is rarely going to go more than 20 yards in the air...We will be the most predictable Offense in the league on 1st down...And we will struggle mightily in the red zone because we're a run first team that cannot run consistently...Heck we can barely get a yard when we need it... That being said...Tuel and Lewis are simply not good enough...I do see improvement in EJ, albeit small...But Lewis has definitively regressed, and Tuel is the same guy only in better shape so he can run a little more...Tuel's arm is noticeably sub-par...It's all very disappointing...I'll continue to hold out hope that some magic will happen in the regular season...But all I see right now is the same thing I saw last year...And yes, I think it's mostly Hackett...
  2. I'm far from a Tebow fan...But I definitely think with time learning the system he could be more effective than Tuel or Lewis...Not saying much...But still...
  3. Probably not...They've planted their flag...God help us if EJ gets hurt again...I'm not saying QB depth is easy to come by in the NFL...But we're still well below average there...And that's not a good place to be...
  4. Well...I'm not sure all 3 have regressed...But Lewis certainly has, and I don't think either EJ or Tuel is that much better...So your point is well taken.. It's preseason and too early for me to start ranting...The benefit of the doubt is still in play...But I'll say this much...Hackett and Marrone did not exactly win my confidence last year...And they've done nothing to change my opinion so far this year...I still think there is a great chance Hackett is in well over his head...You just can't ignore the fact that he took a huge leap from College OC to NFL OC...
  5. A fitting end to this game... The Bills can no longer ignore the fact that they are terrible at QB behind EJ, their depth on the O-line is still not great, and at this point Kouandjio has no business being on an NFL field...even against 3rd stringers... I could not have been more wrong than I was about Kouandjio before the Draft...He's not just getting beat physically...he's getting beat every way possible on almost every down...He's brutal...
  6. Everyone? Really? I read through the whole thread and there were plenty of comments both ways...
  7. I'm still confused about this Legursky-starting thing...I don't get it...
  8. The Bills were missing some very key components in that half of Football...It's still no excuse...But my guess is the games we play without Sammy and the starting left side of our line will not be pretty...
  9. I'm really confused about the reporting leading up to this game concerning the OG position...I thought Richardson had secured the start at RG? Joe B went as far as to say Richardson was one of the best Bills players vs the Steelers in the joint practice sessions...Then we get to the game and Legursky is starting at LG? Legursky? Really?...
  10. Can't get 3rd and a yard on the ground again...
  11. I promise you there is not a single Offensive Lineman in the NFL that agrees with that statement...And that's not taking anything away from Hughes who has become a very good player in his own right...
  12. Beating the Bears is as simple as getting consistent pressure on Cutler...He's easily rattled... If the Chicago media knew anything they would understand that #1 we have a DC that is VERY familiar with their Offense...And #2 we can rush the passer as a team...I'm not saying the Bills are world beaters, or that they should be favored in that game...But it is a good match-up for us I believe...There is definitely a good chance we can steal that game if we don't turn the ball over and we get to Cutler...
  13. No...Just...No...
  14. I'm not a religious man... But seriously...Thank God!!!
  15. OK...I don't know what this is...But I like it...
  16. Bryce Brown for a 5th Round Pick... Not bad...
  17. I doubt they keep 7...So...At least the way things are looking now, TJ is likely the odd man out...
  18. Honestly...No offense because I think you make some valid points...But I think the chances that Hogan is better than Woods are very, very low...Lower than low.actually...But one thing seems certain...Marrone and Hackett are determined to find out...
  19. Well...Is that a hard assumption? Robert Woods was a consensus All American as a Soph at USC, he's a 2nd Rd Draft pick, and he had almost 600 yds in 14 games as a Rookie in the NFL catching balls from 3 VERY inexperienced QB's...I really don't think it's much of an assumption if anyone jumps to the conclusion that Woods would be better regardless... That being said if Hogan turns out to be the next big thing in the slot I would definitely be pleasantly happy/surprised...
  20. 7 career receptions and he's got this kind of rep with some fans... I'm telling y'all...This guy is legendary... I don't think it's a stretch to say that on Sundays Woods is a better everything than Hogan... In practice though...Hogan is legend... I think this is a viable strategy when you have an established QB... When you don't...And you have a guy like say...EJ Manual for example...I'm going to lean on getting him as much time as I can with the WR's he's most comfortable with in order to boost his confidence... But obviously that's not the way Marrone and the boy wonder look at it...
  21. Lebowskis is owned by my good friend who used to own the The Township Grill in Matthews...He's a HUGE Bills fan like us...I would highly recommend anything he's involved with...He's a great guy...
