  1. OK...So...EJ is comfortable with Woods...I agree with that 100%... But...EJ's been a bit inconsistent since day #1...Can we agree on that too? So...Instead of trying to throw out a bunch of combinations of WR's like you can do with a guy like Peyton Manning and have it not matter whatsoever, does it not make sense to give him Woods as much as humanly possible in the preseason in order to build that relationship and build his confidence?... If I was Marrone I would have Woods out there every time EJ is on the field...EJ needs as much familiarity and consistancy as he can get at this period of his development... Just saying...
  2. It's spreading like wildfire... I hope Y'all understand I'm half kidding when I say these things....Thought I do think these coaches are really impressed with Hogan's practice habits...Or whatever... Murph has been slobbering all over Hogan since close to the beginning of Camp...He was the first one who brought up the fact that Hogan was running with the 1's in the slot...I swear he's mentioned it multiple times including having Hogan on to talk about it...Anyway...If Hogan is in the slot again this week the first time we go to 3 wides I guess it will be a bigger story...Right now who knows what they are doing...I just find it potentially troubling...Potentially...
  3. I'm telling you Yolo...I hope I'm wrong, or maybe more specifically I hope they are right...But it just seems to me they have a serious case of Hogan-love...I mean a serious case...Like they are infatuated with him to point where they are actually considering having him on the field in lieu of Woods...Especially in the slot...I just don't buy this "experimenting" stuff...Woods is a 2nd round pick, a former consensus All American at USC, and had almost 600 yds in 14 games as a Rookie...Why even take the chance of messing with his role unless you're serious about the possibility of Hogan supplanting him in the top 3?... Anyway...Like I said before...It's all just too cute for my taste...Experiment or not...I don't like it...And if Woods had gotten hurt in the 3rd quarter of that game playing vs the Giants 3rd team D this board would have exploded...
  4. Well...Here's the thing Yolo...We don't know yet if Hogan will take time away from Woods...It's seemingly obvious he won't...Which is part of my whole point...If it's obvious why not get the starting QB, who struggles at times more than any of the WR's, reps in a preseason game with the actual WR's he's going to be playing with come opening day?... And you listen to Murph...You can't tell me there is not a mini-campaign going on for Hogan to start in the slot...Murph pretty much talks about it every night...We know he get fed his info from some pretty strong sources...I'm ultra-suspicious on this one... I'm just no where near the point of giving Marrone and Hackett the benefits of any doubt...Don't get me wrong...I want them to succeed in the worst way...But at times I feel like they get in their own way with stuff like this...And admittedly that may just be me...
  5. And I'm a couple confidence lays away from bagging Natalie Portman... Seriously though...In my over 40 years following the NFL I cannot remember a single player that got more run based on the way he practices, and not the way he actually plays in real games...And this is not to say that Hogan cannot turn into a quality NFL slot WR...To be honest I have no idea because he's barely played...But his legend is growing and he's basically done nothing in the NFL or College...During that time Robert Woods was one of the best College WR's vs big time competition, and he had a very promising Rookie season... I know this much...It's just too cute, even in the first preseason game, to play him ahead of Woods...Woods is a competitor and if anyone thinks this kind of thing just rubs off a kid like Robert Woods...I kind of doubt it...He wants to be in there and he knows he deserves to be in there based on his ability and actual play on the field in the NFL on Sundays...I really could care less what the reasons are to start Hogan in the slot...It's dumb...At this point in time Woods is better than Hogan and it's case closed...But I've got used to the fact that these are just things Marrone and Hackett do for whatever reason...Now...If they want to say Hogan is pushing for time in the slot, or he's pushing Goodwin for the #4 WR position, I'm fine with that...But if he continues to take time away from Robert Woods he damn well better be the next coming of Wes Welker...And...btw...He's not...
  6. Oh good grief...
  7. I don't know...Maybe it's just me...But it just seems...at times...Marrone and Hackett are over-thinkers...If Hogan is running vs 1st team DB's that means Woods, Watkins, or Williams is on the sidelines (it was Woods yesterday...Hogan came in at the slot on the Bills first two 3rd Down plays) unless there are 4 WR's on the field...So...Why?...OK it's preseason...Fine...But Murph has been hyping up Hogan as the starter in the slot for over a week now...So he must be running with the 1's a lot in Camp too...Again...Why? And every time I see Chris Hogan on the field I'm just not overly impressed...Especially with his short-area quickness...I don't question whatsoever that the guy is a super hard worker...That seems obvious...And I realize you need guys like that on every roster...I'm not trying to say the kid is useless...He legitimately has a chance to make this Roster again...But you have to have serious quicks to be a successful slot WR in the NFL...Hogan is a mini-camp, camp, and practice legend...But beyond that I've yet to see what all the excitement is about...Robert Woods has already proven he can make big plays in NFL games...Why try to get cute? Get Woods in there...No way should Hogan be on the field in lieu of Robert Woods...
  8. That's an interesting take by Trapasso seeing as though Easley is the favorite for the 6th WR spot specifically because of his his ST's play last year...If he's going to get cut another WR is going to have to show an awful lot on Teams...I just don't think Easley's sneaking onto anything...
  9. Could be...And Williams is a proven NFL WR so I doubt anyone would have much of a problem with that... The problem comes if Hogan is on the field instead of Woods...
  10. Maybe it's nothing...We'll see... But I have to say...When I see things like this it just adds to my concerns about Marrone/Hackett, and their ability to make the right decisions...The minute I heard Murph pumping up Hogan as the starter in the slot last week I was worried...I wonder sometimes why...at least it seems like...they are trying to get too cute...If the Bills have 3 WR's on the field at once, at least the majority of the time, it should be Watkins, Williams, and Woods...Period...If you want to experiment beyond that fine...But if Chris Hogan is on the field in lieu of Robert Woods that is a problem IMHO...We'll see where it goes from here...
  11. It's interesting... What is also interesting to me is all this talk about Hogan starting in the slot and what a great "Camp" he's having...Could it be anymore obvious that the Bills best 3 WR's are Watkins, Woods, and Williams?...Am I missing something here? I certainly hope it's as obvious to Marrone and Hackett...And I'm not going to buy it if they say Hogan is beter in the slot than Woods either...No way... No need to get cute here...Put your best players on the field...Period...
  12. His bottom half looks like it's moving in slow motion...
  13. It will be interesting to see what happens at OT if Henderson continues to improve...It's already pretty clear that Marrone and Hackett have an awful lot of faith in his abilities...I was genuinely surprised when Henderson was named the starter while Glenn is on the mend...With Cordy coming back soon will the Bills consider moving one of them to RT by week #1? His potential was never in question...Looks like...at least so far...Henderson is up to the challenge... BTW...Kouandjio really struggled on that last series...
  14. That didn't take long...
  15. No question there was some grabbing going on...But there's also no question that the Bills lack quality depth on the DL...
  16. I tend to agree with both these takes...Big Ted had to compete for Pro Bowls with players who had better stats, but no DT in his era was more effective at his job than Washington...He absolutely dominated the middle of the field in his prime... It is interesting also that SI named Teddy the best player ever Drafted at #25 overall (though surprisingly he did not have a lot of competition for that honor...The history of #25 overall is not great ...) That being said it's going to be awfully hard for Teddy to get in...I think though, if the votes came from only Centers, Guards, and RB's, Teddy would be a 1st ballot Hall Of Famer...I just don't see how anyone could be considered a better 3-4 NT than Washington was in his prime...And he had a pretty lengthy prime...If the HOF is simply about which players were the best at what they did...Teddy should be in it...
  17. Could not be happier for the guy...So deserving... But to be perfectly honest I'm even happier for myself...Those yearly meltdowns I was having each time I found out he did not make it were surely cutting years off my life...
  18. ^^^ This...times a trillion or so!!!
  19. I'm probably one of the bigger Kimmel fans out there...Have been for quite some time now...FAR prefer him to the others (though I do like Conan)...I'm even a bigger fan now...Kidding or not...That was awesome!!!
  20. The people I have spoke with who are not Bills fans do get a bit fired up about a guy from NJ teaming up with a group from Toronto with obvious intentions on moving the Bills to Canada long term...I do think this will have an effect on his reputation...I don't think it's really going to matter much though...
  21. Exactly... Karma Jerry...Karma... San Antonio is a fine market...Plenty big...But Jones will fight it tooth and nail...
  22. We'll see... There is not much about that Cleveland roster that scares me right now...I think currently the Bills have a more talented roster...And the Browns best player may be out all of 2014...
