NEW HEAD COACH: Rex Ryan! It's Official!
KOKBILLS replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well...EJ has not had that chance yet because he's only played 15 games...But he has led his team to a last minute win...He did it in his second game as a pro...If you're going to judge Sanchez positively based on what he did in the playoffs and ignore the fact that he's thrown 80 INT's in 70 career games I really don't know what to say in rebuttal... And please don't take this as a pro-EJ stance because it's not...I'm simply saying that at this point of his career EJ is about as good as Sanchez, and if you look at the start of EJ's career in comparison to the start of Sanchez's career it's easy to figure EJ will end up being the better QB in the long run...Especially if he gets good solid coaching and the kind of running game Sanchez had in NY in his best years...Sanchez simply turns the ball over too much...He always has and there is absolutely no indication that he will not always do so... -
NEW HEAD COACH: Rex Ryan! It's Official!

Totally agree...For the life of me I could not figure out why that organization did not simply stay the course with Glennon who showed plenty of promise in 2013...The kids played 19 games to this point with a 2-1 TD to INT ratio (29/15)...That's not bad for a young QB in this league...He needs to push up his completion percentage a bit...But at the very least Glennon has some nice tools to work with...You would think a good HC can recognize those things and try to bring them out further... No he's not...Compare their first 15 games... -
NEW HEAD COACH: Rex Ryan! It's Official!

He is an option no question...And I imagine if Rex is still a fan he's going to be the Bills target in Free Agency...I'm hoping Rex has had enough of Sanchez to be honest... I'm not a big Sanchez guy...I think he's got all the ability he needs but he throws WAY too many INT's and he always has...He played under one of the best Offensive minds in football this season and still threw too many INT's...I don't think any Coach can get that out of Sanchez's game...I think that's who he is...82 career TD's...80 career INT's...Not good enough... On a side note EJ's first 15 games were FAR more promising than Sanchez's first 15...FAR more impressive...Not saying much granted...But Rex was able to oversee the turning of Sanchez into a decent QB, albeit only for a bit...Maybe he can do the same with EJ who, IMHO is a better QB prospect... -

True...But that definitely had nothing to do with the point I was making when I brought his name up... -

I'm guessing Rex walked in and told the Pegs something like this..."You get me a QB and a couple O-linemen and I will toppled the Pats regime with this roster straight towards a SB victory..." Rex has never shied away from a bold statement...Whatever he said it obviously worked... I really don't know what to think about this whole deal...He obviously worked with a terrible Front Office at times in NY...He definitely had more success vs the Pat then the Bills did...He's a celebrity in his own right...And his players love the guy...He's a real entertaining dude and he's going to bring an attitude we have not had here...well...ever... On the flip side I'm hoping Rex leaned a lot from his stint in NY...The Offense was his downfall in NY and it's not much better here...The Bills need a massive improvement in Offensive game planning...They have talent on that side of the ball but unquestionably need more...Now...I'm uncertain how much input Rex had (I'm guessing it was quite a bit), but while his Offense was dying in NY the Jets continued to use 1st round Draft pick after 1st round Draft pick on the Defensive side of the ball...In fact Sanchez was the last Jets 1st round pick on the Offensive side way back in 2009...Those Defensive players ended up being pretty good for the most part...But the Offense just died...It was talent-less, boring, and a turnover machine...Rex has to figure out something better on the Offensive side, and granted Whaley has to help him...But I'm worried about it... I'm not worried about the entertainment that is coming to Buffalo...Good grief...Sexy Rexy is is the Buffalo Bills HC...Well...With one quick move the Pegs have shown this is not your Grandfathers Buffalo Bills any more... -
Rex is scheduled for a Second Interview.
KOKBILLS replied to Leroi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm less than enthusiastic about Rex...I respect him...Don't get me wrong...But I just can't fathom why we would bring in a life-long 3-4 Defensive HC when we have one of the best Defenses in the NFL and it's a 4-3...Is Rex really going to keep Schwartz? How's that going to work? This would be puzzling to say the least...Not saying it can't work...Just saying that on paper it does not seem like a good fit... And Roman? Just seems odd to me...The whole thing... -
What are the Bills waiting for?

Hang around long enough here you'll learn all about the worse...That's for sure... -

Head Coach candidate: Hue Jackson
KOKBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting in the sense that a Jackson hire would remind me of the Bills hiring Gailey...Not sure why...but that's the feeling it gives me...The feeling like...meh... -
Head Coach candidate: Hue Jackson
KOKBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To say the least... I'm not saying the guy is a bad football coach...But this would not make me happy at all...I would not mind him as an OC...But that's as far as my love for Hue goes... -
Bills ST assistant John Anselmo defends Marrone

Exactly... I was thinking a personal call to the captains would be the absolute minimum... -
Has Marrone's credibility as a Head Coach taken a hit?
KOKBILLS replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm almost 100% sure that any reporter covering Marrone every day would never, ever, assume this guy simply had an ax to grind... -
Joe B just lost all credibility, Part II
KOKBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK...What in the hell was that article? Good grief this is getting ridiculous and it's only been a week... -

KOKBILLS replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And I think I've heard in the past few days that Marrone has been kind and considerate to the select few he felt could further his career...Maybe he felt Tirico and Lupica could do so? Who knows... -
What the first question you ask prospective coaches?
KOKBILLS replied to bananathumb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you turn EJ Manuel into a top 15 NFL QB, and if so how will you do it? Secondly, can and will you accept Schwartz as your DC and allow him to run that side of the ball? -
Fred Jackson discusses Marrone vs. Hackett
KOKBILLS replied to 5 Wide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Listened to the morning show and came away a bit surprised at how adamant Joe B was on this subject...Personally I'm not buying it 100%...But based on Freddie's comments I guess there is at least some truth to it... -
How do you feel right now if you are Sammy Watkins?
KOKBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well... The organization as a whole (now) is 100% behind Sammy...I'm sure he knows that...If anything I would guess he's excited! His biggest problem quit and the Bills will almost assuredly be looking at bringing in an advanced Offensive mind...Getting Sammy the ball more often will be a huge part of the challenge this new HC or OC will have... So anyway...Seeing as though Marrone is gone...I'm guessing Sammy is pretty happy...Or at least I think he should be...He's a stud WR and a real good kid...He'll be fine... -
[Vague Title]we are crazy if......

Plus...The Jets get ridiculed pretty often...But they're still an NFL team...They're going to do their due diligence...They know people...They're going to talk to people...They're going to try to get to the bottom of things on a decision this important...And with Marrone this is not just smoke...It's a blazing fire...The guy has issues and we've all known it here from day #1...Now...Maybe they're a bit over exaggerated in that article and that's up to the Jets to find out...But they're going to dig...And I'm guessing when they do they'll find he's not all he seems to be on the surface...We'll see... -
Did Marrone/Whaley rift start with Sammy Watkins selection?
KOKBILLS replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I've heard personally that certainly would not have been the first, nor would it be the last time Marrone showed unacceptable behavior in that building... -

KOKBILLS replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I do think Beckham is pretty amazing in his own right...I agree with your take...Put Sammy on the other end of Eli and he has a monster year...Put Sammy on the other side of an elite QB and he could have been All Pro as a Rookie... -

Exactly...Maybe he knew he would not be able to coach them up either? -
Very sad...RIP Stu...

Who do you want to be named next Bills HC?
KOKBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I chose Bevell and I'm assuming Schwartz will stay on as DC... For me it's a toss up between Bevell and Gase...I think Bevell has done more with less overall talent, especially at the receiver positions... I think both are bright Offensive minds...I'd be OK with either...
