Exactly... If we had the Defense Rex promised, and our Offense stays healthy we would be a legit contender...Period...

I think this issue is the core of the problems on Defense...I really don't think it can be argued at this point...Rex's scheme is just not taking with these guys overall...Remember...They switched schemes from Pettine to Schwartz and thrived...So really...What else can it be? They are nowhere near the Defense the roster would indicate they should be...

Rex has made a complete, undisciplined mess of this Defense IMHO... I really don't understand how anyone can see it differently either... They have been fortunate too... It could have been much worse today...and against Tennessee and J-ville too... I'm so disappointed with this Defense... Little to no pressure on the QB...poor tackling...penalties...missed assignments...They are underachieving big time... I should point out my opinions are based on how high the bar was set...Especially by Rex himself... I don't really care what the norm is in the NFL because we were told to expect much,much more... You can't talk about being one of the best Defenses of all-time and field a product like this while expecting no one to notice when you fall way short... OK...Sorry... /endrant

He'll come up with something... This Bills Defense is a mess... They got lucky today... Miami helped them out... So did Tennessee for that matter... I'm guessing the rest of the season will be like this... It's up to the Offense to score more than this D gives up...

There is almost nothing that I like about this Defense...It's embarrassing...And they seem to suck even worse at Home...How is that even possible?

Well...If this Bills Defense could just play every play on the goaline I think they would be fine... They lucked out...That was a pitiful Defensive series...And showed once again how weak this Defense really is...

Once again this Defense allows opponents to stay in the game...

This Bills D-line is virtually non-existent...They simply cannot get pressure...At all... Could not be more disappointed with this Defense under Rex... Bunch of underachievers...

I don't claim to be an expert...but something is obviously up...I agree they don't seem to be getting much pressure...But it also looks like opposing QB's all too often know exactly where to go with the ball before the snap...They are identifying the weaknesses in our Defense too easily...At least that's the way it looks...I think whatever Schwartz and Pettine were doing...it was confusing QB's pre-snap MUCH more than Rex has...And the hesitation gave our D-line enough time to get the sacks... There is not much scientific about this...But I just get the feeling that all too often opposing Offenses have caught on to Rex...I don't know...I think the possibility that Mario, Hughes, Kyle, and Dareus all got old at the same time is far less likely...I do know that Rex does not like to rotate out the D-line like Schwartz did and maybe these guys are just wearing down fast...Schwarz came with a full 2nd team D-line (Lawson, Bryant, Wynn, Charles) and they played a lot in 2014 combining for 9 sacks and 45 tackles...That's like an extra VERY good D-lineman...I think the rotation kept our stars fresh...It made a difference...

Regardless of what system is being run I think it's pretty obvious Rex has come in here and messed up a VERY good thing... 111 sacks in 2013 and 2014 combined...That's 3.46 per game under Pettine and Schwartz... 11 in 7 games under Rex dropping almost 2 sacks per game (1.57)... Look...I'm not going to sit back and blame this Defense for all the Bills problems...But when you come out and talk about being one of the best Defenses of all-time...Then you clearly regress with the same players...Well... I had to sit through a full week after that Cincy game listening to Buffalo media talk about how incredible that Cincy Offense was, and how they were 2nd only to the Pats...And how they had so many great players on Offense they were all but un-defendable...Then yesterday I watch a VERY average Pittsburgh Defense...a Defense that is 26th in yards allowed...all but shut down that incredible Cincy Offense at home mostly by putting pressure on the QB...They held Cincy to 6 points until the 2:57 mark of the 4th Quarter!!! The unstoppable Cincy Offense...Right... Anyway...I really hope we can stop making excuses for Rex...He's screwed this Defense up and he needs to fix the damage he's done...Period...End of story...

Honestly...even though we're all a little frustrated with the injuries this year...had Sammy not made the comments he did this year I don't think many Bills fans would be questioning him...He's very clearly a talented young WR...You just can't win if you're Sammy by saying (and writing) the things he did...

I think...unfortunately...it would take some major optimism to think the Bills still have a chance at the Playoffs... It's going to take a hell of a run...I just don't think they have it in them this year...We'll see...Anything is possible...

Sammy is a good kid...I really think he's good to his core... But he's also frustrated...He was touted as the next great thing at WR in the NFL and as of yet he has not been able to live up to that for a variety of reasons...Add to that he's had to sit back and watch the entire NFL media fawn all over OBJ...The injuries...The Bills QB situation...Game plans...Etc... I'm surprised Sammy did this...I kind of feel like it's beneath him...But...It's Buffalo Bills Football...So...I guess I should expect the unexpected... Unless the unexpected is the Playoffs of course...

That might be true had they not done the improbable and come back to actually take the lead... It was a brand new game after the Bills went up 4...And the PI call was an absolute killer...
