  1. The key to that non-call was EJ moving quickly to get just outside of the tackle box when he saw Watt break through...It was actually a heads up play by EJ...When I saw it live I was waiting for the flag...But the replay showed he quickly broke to his right and chucked it beyond the line of scrimmage as soon as he cleared the OT...It was VERY close though...
  2. I'm pretty much in agreement with this take... Outside of 2009-2010 in Denver Orton has been pretty pedestrian...In fact if you remove those two years from his career he's 42 TD's to 38 INT's...56.8% completions in 1226 attempts...Not exactly the kind of QB that is going to lead you to the promised land... Now...If he can revert to the way he played in those two years in Denver then he's unquestionably an upgrade to EJ...But you have to wonder...The Bears and Broncos both gave up on the guy as a starter...I think as a back-up he's probably one of the better 2nd QB's in the league...Other than that I'm not so sure...
  3. EJ is not Wilson...Not even close... EJ has two main issues right now... Accuracy is the #1 issue...He's high, low, left, right...But rarely on time and in stride...He does however choose the proper receiver often, and reads Defenses better than most QB's with his experience...He has a very good grasp on this Offense and where he should be going with the ball...But it matters not when the ball is not on the money...The 3rd down pass to Woods that was behind him on his back shoulder yesterday, and the pass to Sammy when he was WIDE open are perfect examples...He's got to be on the money with those...And he's generally not... The #2 issue is the way he breaks down under pressure...And in EJ's defense he's been under a TON of pressure these past two games...But he's terribly inaccurate when he's under pressure...And even though he's got escape-ability he's not hurting Defenses with his legs at all...Something Wilson does with regularity and with great results...
  4. Agreed on all points...
  5. It's coming...I don't think there is any way Marrone makes it past this season...These last two games were so winnable...SD all but begged the Bills to come back last week...This week we blow a 10 point lead against a team that is average at best, with Fitz at QB...Regardless of anything else excuse-wise including EJ, Marrone has not managed to get this team to take the next step...The Bills either turn it around now or Marrone is dead man walking...
  6. Thanks for that vine 26...I'm blasting it everywhere I can... And I totally agree about it being worse than I thought it was...I saw the contact live so I knew it was a penalty...But it was worse than I thought... On August 18th Dean Blandino was quoted on Peter King's MMQB..."We're not going to change how we're calling the games once the regular season starts...'' OK Dean...What say you now?... Anyone have Blandino's email?
  7. It looked like he got out of the tackle box and threw the ball beyond the LOS... It was close though...
  8. I feel like it is virtually impossible for any Bills fan to disagree with this take...
  9. Exactly... Just call the freaking game the way it's supposed to be called... But when it's as blatant as this was on something that the NFL has basically screamed is a point of emphasis since the first play of pre season... I don't know... What exactly are Bills fans supposed to think is going on?
  10. I guess this was totally thrown out the window on that last play...http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2014/08/19/5116515/nfl-going-to-extremes-to-enforce.html#.VChzavldV8E
  11. That may be true... But you can't tell me that was not textbook illegal contact on that final play...Because it was...Textbook...Contact beyond the 1st 5 yards with the QB still in the pocket...But the Texans DB took it one step further and went with constant contact beyond 5 yards...The only time he was not re-routing Woods was in the first 5 yards... And this is supposedly a point of emphasis in the NFL this year? Not when the Bills are trying to win on the road apparently...
  12. This is mind-numbing to me...Ever since pre-season game #1 we have been hearing about this illegal contact...We've seen it called every game and the Bills have been called for it constantly...The DB is re-routing Woods the whole play...the only time the DB did not have his hands on Woods was the first freaking 5 yards where he's allowed to...This is what it's like to be a Bills fan...I swear I'm in shock right now...I'm not saying they would have punched it in and won the game or anything like that...I am seriously sitting here in shock that a flag was not thrown on that play...I just can't believe it...
  13. The DB is bumping Woods the whole way down the field...WELL past 5 yards...It was a lousy pass by EJ...But is that not the EXACT kind of contact that is being called now? I don't know? Am I wrong?
  14. EJ can literally win every Bills fan over on this drive...
  15. Guess grabbing Mario's jersey is not holding anymore...
  16. Just incapable of any consistency on Offense...Literally incapable...
  17. The Bills had their chance to put this one away early...It's no surprise it's getting harder now...You're not going to get all the bounces...If you don't take advantage when you have the chances early this is what happens...
  18. I don't want to hear the word Playoffs out of anyone's mouth on this team if they can't pull this game out...If you can't beat this team today...You're going nowhere...
  19. Like SD last week, I fully expect the Texans to give the Bills the opportunity to win this game... If this team truly has taken the next step they can win this 4th quarter by 10 points and pull out a tough one... I'm just uncertain this team, and more specifically EJ, has really taken that next step...they have 15 minutes to show me... GO BILLS!!!
  20. The fat lady is warming up her vocal chords...
  21. EJ's just killing us...again...This game would be all but over with a QB who can hit open receivers... I've been so patient with EJ up to this point...My patience is quickly wearing out...These are not Rookie, young QB mistakes...he's just not getting the ball where it needs to be enough to keep the chains moving...Play calling has not helped much...But he's had chances and he continues to come up short, long, low, high...You name it...
  22. Even the plays that work call for a quick dump pass... Sooner or later if you can't push the ball down-field teams are going to pack you in... As I was writing this they read the draw and nail Spiller for a loss...There you go...
