  1. Putting aside all the noise concerning EJ and listening only to what Rex and Roman have said I honestly feel they'll keep EJ...In the interview with Roman last week on Murph's show he seemed to be very impressed with EJ's skill set but said he just needs to learn the Offense...Rex has been complimentary about EJ for the most part as well... Now...I fully understand that Rex and Roman are not going to talk about cutting EJ right now...But I just think they see the same upside in EJ most of us see...And I think the fact that Roman has only had him for a short period of time factors in here...He had Kaep for a full year plus before they were comfortable leaving him in there...EJ is still a young, inexperienced QB...TT may have only been a back-up, but he has two full seasons on an NFL roster, getting real NFL coaching (yes that was a jab at Marrone and the boy wonder), over EJ...And Cassel has been around forever...EJ needs time...He's not quite ready... The way I see it...and granted I could be totally wrong...EJ is just a bit more than a rookie because he's learning a new system that I'm 100% sure is more complicated than the last one he was in...And I still maintain his ceiling is better than either Cassel or TT...I think Rex and Roman understand that after working with EJ for a few months now, and they'll be willing to be patient with him knowing the payoff could be big down the road... We'll see soon enough I guess...
  2. Good to hear about Bryant...That was a bit of a scare...
  3. Agreed 100%... I commented earlier about EJ's arm in that game... He was throwing bullets out there... No matter who starts the season I hope EJ gets the chance to stay and work hard under this Coaching staff... I still see his upside as considerably higher than the other two... And I can't help but wonder where he would be if he had not walked into Marrone and the boy wonders deal...
  4. I don't think there is any question that EJ has the most potential as a true pocket passer...But potential is just a word that starts with p until it becomes actual consistent production...But on that note I was SO impressed by EJ's arm last night...Goodness he can chuck it...That sideline pass to Goodwin, which looked catch-able live, was a bullet...And of course the TD throw shows what he can do...He's got elite arm potential... EJ just has to put it all together and get a little help from his receivers...He needs to work hard on throwing the ball on the run as well...Making plays like the one he bounced after that amazing escape would catapult him into another level of NFL QB...
  5. Agreed...And furthermore look at the team results when the Bills actually ran the ball well in EJ's 14 starts...Which was not often...But when they did he was 4-1 with the only loss coming in that fumblefest vs Atlanta in Toronto... This is actually the point of EJ's career when the scouts that liked him felt he would start showing his worth...It just kills me that some folks (especially in the media) have written him off after two years of less-than-NFL-offensive-coaching...To me he looks like he is getting better, especially in the pocket...No way would I give up on that kid yet...Even if he does not start the season as the #1 QB...
  6. Exactly...And as exciting as he is why do I get the feeling he can't last a full season doing what he did last night...I just feel like he's going to get killed eventually...
  7. In all seriousness...If you could not tell the difference a real NFL OC had on the way the Bills played and executed on Offense then you're not paying attention...It seemed pretty obvious...Even for the 1st preseason game...
  8. Regardless of of the obvious fact that this was the first preseason game, I'm guessing at the very least the film review will not be a pleasant experience for Gilmore and Darby especially... I'm fairly sure Henderson is going to get on them hard... The good news is, for the most part, they were in excellent position...But this is a Defense that is going to afford them many opportunities to make plays, and just running with the WR step for step is not enough...They will be expected to locate, and make plays on the ball...Granted they were being muscled a bit (especially Darby) by monster WR's...I'm not panicking by any stretch of the imagination...But no question it's got to get better...They have to play the ball...
  9. I don't know...He throws a 51 yd TD that is dead on the money and has two, possibly three drops on throws that would have been first downs...But he's not good enough because he misses the scramble throws? EJ is a good athlete for a guy his size, and yes it would be nice to see him finish those scrambles, but how he throws on the run is not going to make or break him IMHO...The key to EJ is not how he does when he's running for his life...It's how he throws from the pocket, and even more so how he throws from the pocket under pressure...And it looks to me like he's improving in that area...Baby steps I guess... But I do agree in a way...If EJ makes those throws he's going to be hard to keep on the sidelines...Of course that would also mean he was pretty much perfect tonight... On a side note I thought Cassel looked fine and TT looked good as well...So I'm not too worried no matter...
  10. Did not look good to you? What game were you watching? The bad snaps were not his fault at all...He had one bad throw on the run after he had a beautiful escape on a sure sack...The pass to Goodwin was a dart that was catch-able...The two drops by the TE's were bad drops...The TD pass was perfect...Plus he stepped up in the pocket away from pressure on that TD throw... I thought EJ looked fine tonight...
  11. Mostly because a few guys on WGR have been speculating that EJ will be cut since before Camp even started... I have not heard much about Cassel or TT being cut...But the last couple days I swear a few of the talking heads on the radio were pretty much assuming EJ was done in Buffalo...
  12. Well...When you have that #46 kid taking a terrible angle and giving up the entire outside what ya gonna do? I mean...That was awful... Goodness...Not sure what Tasker is seeing there...No way you can put those on EJ...No way...
  13. I think we saw exactly what we should have expected from the QB's... Cassel steady not spectacular...TT flashing big time athletic ability at the position...And EJ showing he has the most upside as a pure passer...It's a real interesting battle with three very different QB's...
  14. Looked like a pretty good pass live...EJ does gun the ball...But this is the NFL...So... Honestly...Live it looks like EJ is throwing BB's tonight, and he's pretty much been on the money...
  15. But he's still wrong...The DB had no chance...You can see it clearly from the replay...
  16. Watching from the end zone replay it looked like the DB was closer than he actually was...That pass was perfect...
  17. I think the throws to Goodwin and Gray were good too...He looks fine so far...
  18. Chance for a big play there...
  19. Gray looked like he had some room to run too...
