If I was Marrone and Hackett I'd get the resume ready...I might leave off my stint with the Bills though...Nothing to brag about here... -

Hey Nate...I'm not an NFL OC...I'm not an NFL Coach...But even I know every freaking team you play is DARING you to pass the ball over 5 yards...How the freak can you not see what is going on?...It's mind numbing...Defenses are on to this little dink and dunk crap you continue to call...They are on to you kid...Adjust or start looking for work... -

You would think after 20 games of no yardage plays to Spiller up the middle Hackett would know better...But he doesn't... -

In the NFL, if you have 2 Defenders meet the play at the line of scrimmage on a swings pass to the FB you are not fooling anyone... This short pass Offense is crap... -

Right, because that's the way the rules are written...Play well and you get calls..Sounds fair... -

EJ: "I want to be a different player... cut it loose."
KOKBILLS replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All he needs to be is a player who does not throw high, low, behind, etc....EJ has plenty of things he can fine tune...But unless he can put the ball where the ball needs to be it matters not...He'll be out of this league in a year or two...Everything else is secondary...If you can't make the plays when you made the right read and the receiver is open a high percentage of the time...you're toast... I've never been an EJ basher...But goodness...Let it rip?...How about let it be in stride when a guy is wide open first?...Or don't throw behind a receiver, or in the dirt, or too far in front and out of reach, when it's 3rd and 3 and the guy gets open for an easy 1st down...When you get that part down then maybe let it rip... -
Interesting dialogue on WR frustrations with EJ
KOKBILLS replied to BuffaninATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This specific play was covered in Jeremy White's All-22 report... The fact that EJ threw the pass at all concerning the coverage and the situation is bad enough...The fact that both Texans Defenders (and you can see it even better on White's report) seemed to anticipate the short pass there when Sammy was running a longer out-route on the same side and seemed to be in a position where he would not only be open, but he could get out-of-bounds, was possibly even more disturbing...Not only did EJ make the wrong read and throw it to the wrong guy, but the Defense seemed to know he would do just that... -
I like it!

Agreed... Bridgewater looked like a sure fire top 5 pick during most of his College career...But the paralysis from over analysis set in after that Pro Day...I'm not saying Bridgewater is the next big thing or anything like that...But considering what he did in College, and the fact that he plays the QB position, I don't think there is much doubt he should have gone a bit higher than #32 overall... I should also mention concerning the the topic that I don't think there was ever a time that anyone analyzing the NFL Draft felt that EJ was a better pro prospect than Teddy...Sure EJ has the prototypical size...But Bridgewater was always considered the better prospect...

EJ always pointing the finger... not what you think.

It's you... Every QB does it...It's identifying the Mike LB... -
Not excited at all...We are forced to sit our #1 pick from last year because he's not getting the job done at QB, and we don't have a #1 next year...Plus I have my doubts about Orton long-term...Short term he should be a slight improvement...But enough to be a difference? We'll see... Plus I kind of feel bad for EJ...He's really a good kid...He just can't get the accuracy thing right...And unless he fixes that he's all but done in this league...
-
That's cool...Go ahead and assume he's going to return to form after 2 NFL teams gave up on him and the Cowboys did not want to pay him what he felt he was worth to be a back-up for a QB coming off back surgery... What every works for you... And I'm not saying Orton would not be a better option than EJ right now...I'm only saying he's a career 79.9 QB...So don't get your hopes up... And BTW, I said if he reverts back to the 2009-2010 form he's definitely an upgrade from EJ...So I'm uncertain why you even bothered with this post...

"Throw may have sailed b/c EJ was hit by Watt at the release. But illegal hands down-field def could have been called. Refs will miss some." @ChrisTrapasso This kind of glossing over stuff just frustrates me to no end... "Refs will miss some..." OK...sure...But on the intended receiver? When it was that blatant...I mean...There's illegal contact, and then there is "I'm going to continuously push your back shoulder WELL past 5 yards to re-route you, then run into you with both hands and body guard you with my back to the ball..." I get it that calls are missed...I really do...I also get that historically refs let some stuff go late in games...But when you have the NFL's VP of officiating going around in preseason warning teams they are going to call the illegal contact the same in every game this year?...When you have the NFL basically go on a campaign to point out that this is a point of emphasis? Then you see something like this...You just have to wonder...WTF is going on?...It's a stinking 5 yard penalty and a 1st down...But on this play the non-call nullified any chance the Bills had to pull the game out because the play resulted in an INT...It was the easiest call that ref had to make all game...And supposedly there is one ref assigned to every eligible receiver on every play... And before any of you "devils's advocates for the sake of devils advocacy" chime in I'm not saying this was the difference in the game, or that it's the reason the Bills lost, or that it's an excuse for them losing, or any of that crap...It's about getting the freaking call right on something that was obviously blatant and is supposed to be a point of emphasis...This was not borderline...There is no one on this earth that understands the rules of football that will say it was not illegal contact...The Defender chose to initiate the contact beyond the 5 yard limit when he could have just as easily turned and ran with Woods...He pushes Woods shoulder not once but 3 times during the route, then he briefly puts two hands on Woods when Robert starts to go up to make a play on the ball...All the while with his back turned to the QB and the ball in the air...It could not possibly be more apparent that this is illegal contact...That's all I'm saying... "Miss some?" Ya...I guess so...

Like EJ or not the bolded statement could not possibly be farther from the truth...
