They'd be doing the people of Buffalo a favor by blacking the game out. It will save the entire city 3 hours of anger and frusteration.

JP will lead Bills to win against Dolphins
MDH replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read in an article a little while ago that both Edwards and Losman's record over their last 16 starts is 7-9. I haven't double checked the numbers but this losing streak has pretty much ended the "all Edwards does is win" argument. Both QBs have major holes in their game. If Edwards can get back to the confident QB he was early in the season I prefer him in the game. If he looks like the skittish, indecisive guy we've seen over the past 6 games then I prefer Losman. Keeping Edwards in the game when he looks as uncomfortable in the pocket as any QB I’ve ever seen isn’t going to help his career. It could end up destroying his confidence. As you said though - all I really prefer is a win and I don't really care how it is attained. -
Corned beef on rye from Carnegy Deli or Stage Deli in NYC - with a little spicy mustard for good measure. A pickle on the side is a must. They cost an arm and a leg but they’re huge and are worth the price (well, once in a while.) Also, surprisingly Panera Bread has some pretty tasty sandwiches for a chain restaurant. It's the only fast food place I can stomach. Their soups are pretty good too.

What would you rather do than become a Dolfan?
MDH replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather spend my weekends during the prime of my life watching a losing team miss the playoffs for a decade AND then spend the rest of my week reveling in that misery with others on a message board than become a Dolphins fan! -
The most important cog in the 3-4 is a fantastic NT who can clog the middle. The Bills have no such player on their roster. In fact, such players are usually difficult to find. Stroud has played very well this year but he is not a 3-4 NT. The Bills also lack big DEs which are necessary for the 3-4. They have edge rushers, not run stuffers. So basically the Bills are short an entire DL AND one pass rushing LB of having good 3-4 personnel.

If Losman actually gets us to the playoffs and we win the SB....

Everybody is bashing on you because it's a stupid question: OF COURSE HE GETS AN EXTENTION! -
My favorite line came from the Marine Biologist episode: George: "Why couldn't you have made me an architect? You know I always wanted to pretend that I was an architect. " Just classic.

Coughlin isn't done yet and unless things turn sour quickly I don't think he'll be done for a while. Do you really think Spagnolo is going to wait around while his stock is high right now? I suppose he might but that would be a mistake Imo. Also, don't forget - Greg Williams was the "heir apparent" in DC. Kubriak was the "heir apparent" in Denver. These coach in waiting things never seem to work out the way they're planned.

Marty Schottenheimer, Mike Sherman ...??
MDH replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My goal is to be able to sit in front of the TV on Sunday and enjoy some football. I don't remember the last time I was pleased - consistently - with the effort, preparedness or all around game of the Buffalo Bills. It had to be the late 90s. So yeah, at this point I'd take Marty over what we have or over who I think Ralph would select if Jauron were fired. 10 years ago I'd be right there with you saying, "it's the SB or nothing!" but I've since mellowed and I'm just looking to enjoy my Sundays at this point. Actually, I'm not even sure if I've mellowed or if the Bills pathetic play has just beaten me into submission... -
Is it up to the fans to "fix" the Bills
MDH replied to Bubbles 400's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't take a brilliant football mind to see how one coach compares to another in terms of winning. It just takes basic math. I don't have to know more about football than Jauron to know that he is outclassed on a weekly basis by those who do understand the game better than he does - the opposing coaches on other teams. So is your basic point that because Jauron knows more than the fans that he isn't accountable for his lack of success? Nice logic there... -
Marty Schottenheimer, Mike Sherman ...??
MDH replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schottenheimer has a career 200-126-1 regular season record. Yeah, I'll take that anyday over what the Bills have given us in the past decade. I'd rather be frusterated at getting bounced from the playoffs 5 years in a row than from missing them completely for 10. -
And then compare it to what Edwards said about "practicing against defenses that they never see in games." So the offense doesn't know what they're going to see on a given day but the D playing against them knows exactly what the O is going to do. Fantastic.
-
If I recall correctly it was reported that they offered the job to Lebeau and he chose Pittsburgh over Buffalo because of his ties to Pit at which point they decided to retain Gray.
-
Losman has 31 career starts and Edwards has 21.
-
Everything you say is true - but the defender "launched" himself at Welker which is illegal. No doubt he'll be fined for it. Not saying I agree with the rule but it is a rule.

Look at that, if you had just read the entire post you would have seen that your question was answered.

Marshawn Lynch matching Thomas' career
MDH replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure that I agree with you about Thomas being "agile and elusive." When I think agile and elusive I think Barry Sanders or Warrick Dunn - guys who made defenders miss. Thomas didn't make many people wiff. He also wasn't very fast and he wasn't a REALLY physical runner (though he was physical - just not a bruiser). What Thomas had going for him was his vision and his ability to read blocks and follow them. He might be the best back I've ever seen at reading blocks and hitting the correct hole. Thomas also had the ability to "get small" and fit through the tiniest holes while not giving defenders a lot to hit. This helped him with his knack to always fall forward when going down. He also had amazing ballance - I don't know how many times I saw him get turned around and gain an extra 2-3 yards BACKWARDS while going down. Just amazing to watch. Sorry for derailing the thread but this is the first thing that popped into mind while reading your post. -
Come on Bill, you can't have it both ways. What you say is obviously right but this is not the tone you took with Losman where you blamed everything on the guy. Right now you sound EXACTLY like many people who defended JP when the hoards were wanting to blame him for everything. As far as the Royal throw - is was a horrible throw, just pathetic. The reason Royal was stumbling around is because Edwards threw the ball to the inside instead of the outside and he was trying to turn around while running while stretching up and reach for a ball that was 10 feet over his head.

McKelvin is the next Devin Hester.
MDH replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has enough to digest just getting the defense part down right now. Not to mention the O already has two guys who are electric at WR. There's no need to put McKelvin in at WR. -
IMO Best Play Of The Game Was McGee's Rundown!!

IMO Best Play Of The Game Was McGee's Rundown!!
MDH replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty sure its Evans. -
Because with a free kick there is no rush and the kicker can get a head of steam to kick the ball (as opposed to three steps). It basically looks like a kickoff without a tee.
-
With the exception of the drive where he had two penalties (which ended in a TD btw) show me where he was "sub par" today. Was it in giving large holes for Lynch and Jackson to run through or loads of time for Edwards to find a WR? Just point point out where "for the most part" he was sub par. I'll save you the time - he wasn't. He looked like an All Pro out there today just like he has the past few weeks. I'll give you that he was very rusty for the first 5-6 games but he has been sensational during the past month.

No playoffs. They'll beat San Fran then lose to the Dolphines, Jets and Broncs before closing the season with a win against the Pats. If that Dolphin game was at the Ralph I'd pencil it in as a win...
