  1. Philly "gave" into his demands AND gave up a 1st rounder. That team's decision makers continually have them in the playoffs. Somehow they can afford Peters plus have enough left over to put a competitive team on the field. Yeah, it sounds like Philly made a big mistake there and the Bills came out the winners...
  2. I'd take Kolb over any of those guys (as long as it doesn't cost a 1st rounder - though perhaps a flip flop of first rounds) He could be a long term solution and he's already put in time in the NFL being groomed. The Rob Johnson comparison's will inevitably come up but I don't buy them. Just because one guy failed has no bearing on another QB 10 years later. Kolb was highly thought of coming out of Houston (hell, he was a high second round pick) and was to be groomed from the very start to replace McNabb. He's durable, accurate, and a pocket passer (no scrambling around taking sacks...at least from what I saw) In the two games he played he made quick decisions and let the ball fly. I'm all for flipping the sides here and having another team groom our future players instead of us always doing it for other teams...
  3. It's the way they handled the situation from the start. At that point Peters didn't want to come back. The team let themselves get into a stand-off and they were destined to be the losers. Peters didn't lose - he got the money he wanted and is on a team that perennially is in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Bills have an offensive mess, an entire coaching staff that got fired and are sitting out of the playoffs for the 10th straight year. I understand why fans are upset with Peters. Fans have the luxury of letting themselves get all heated about these situations because they feel a player "slighted" them in some way. But the team does not have that luxury. This is a business decision. Peters was looking out for his best business interests and the team should have been looking out for theirs. Peters business decision appears to have been a solid one. The Bills appears to be another in a long line of botched decisions.
  4. The two starters at OT on the NFC's Pro Bowl team are a guy the Bills had on their roster and a guy that many were calling to be drafted instead of Mike Williams. While the Bills still have one of the worst OLs in the league. But yeah, we're better off without those guys I'm sure.
  5. What exactly do you know about Frazier that makes you so confident he couldn't succeed?
  6. The bottom line is we have no idea who was the ultimate decision maker for those picks. So go ahead and get your torch and pitch fork but just realize you might be storming the wrong castle.
  7. I'm not sure why so many people have their panties in a bunch over Cowher. There are a lot of quality coaching candidates out there - some coordinators and some with previous HC experience - and the Bills are in the unique situation of being the only team looking for a HC. Sure the Bills have failed in the past when it comes to hiring "hot" coordinators but that has absolutely no bearing on this hire. Those were hires of Donahoe. Granted, nobody is sure what type of GM Nix will be but none-the-less those past hires have no bearing on this hire (just like the hiring of Jauron by Levy has no bearing on the success or failure of Cowher, Marty, etc.) I swear people just want to set themselves up for a let down. Do I hope the Bill land Cowher? Sure, he'd be my top pick but if they don't get him there are a lot of other qualified guys who I think could do a good job. Cowher is not the only guy who can win games for the Bills...
  8. Why? What team is going to hire coaches out from under the Bills? Bills are in a unique position to just sit back and take their time - even if that means waiting until after the Super Bowl to make sure they get the right guy.
  9. With the right coaching staff and front office in place every team in the league is on the cusp of winning. In this watered down league it shouldn't take more than two years to turn things around.
  10. And if he does manage to pan out he'll be another classic Bills pick that we groom for another team. The treadmill continues.
  11. You're absolutely right, he did get us to 7-9 - the team would have been a 5 win team without him. Good to know someone finally acknowledges his contributions.
  12. That's odd - I had no reception probs and I live 15 min from the city. That being said you are probably better off having not seen the game. Shoveling snow is less of a nightmare than watching this Bills team.
  13. Where do you guys get that he was beating her? "Dispute" does not mean physical violence. Getting into a car and driving off seems like a pretty common reaction to a couple arguing - assuming someone was getting beaten seems like a big leap. Even if it was physical leaving someone in the middle of the road injured is not the "right" thing to do. Understandable yes, but not "right."
  14. Not to mention that having a top 10 pick isn't the greatest thing given how much cash those picks cost and their 50/50 success rate. I'd almost rather have a 11-20 pick and not be in cap hell if the pick doesn't pan out.
  15. The article makes it sound like Henry fell out of the truck and his fiance didn't stop as he was later "found in the road." What a woman if true.
  16. When you have the worst run defense in the league the problem is generally with your MLB or your DTs (or both...) - what, did you think Stoud was going to say? I don't expect him to say they need to replace him or Williams...
  17. My goal is to not want to smash my TV every Sunday in the Fall. If I feel like smashing it one game in the playoffs that's a hell of a lot better than wanting to smash it nearly every week during the regular season.
  18. The Bills are rated last in the league in stopping the run. Sure, much of the blame goes to the LBs and Safties for not being filling the proper holes but much of the blame also goes to the DL getting blown off the ball. Stroud will have plenty of plays where he looks outstanding and then long stretches where he just disappears - almost as if he turns it off...
  19. I'm amazed at how well the secondary has played given that the Bills D generates very little pass rush.
  20. Actually, I'd disagree about the conservative at the end part. They threw the ball deep to Evans which set up a FG which was a good call. Once inside the 5 yard line with 2 minutes left the ran the ball...like they should have. No need to put the ball in the air there.
  21. So what does Edwards do with his day? Stare blankly at a gray wall every waking hour? I mean, we wouldn't want him to tax his head by doing something else
  22. Sadly the Bills could also walk out of that stretch 4-9. If the D doesn't completely shut down opposing Os this team has no chance at winning the game.
  23. As much as I dislike Edwards I'll take him over Fitz. Fitz is as inaccurate as Jamarcus Russle. Thankfully he managed to complete some passes late but it was painful until then.
  24. The pass D also shut down Drew Brees - you know, the guy who just destroyed one of the best Ds in the league. There is a lot wrong with the Bills - well, just about everything is wrong with them - but the pass D has been solid.
  25. Settling for the FG is fine but you try and get 10 more yards. You don't run a couple of times into the line and settle for a 46 yd field goal. It's a horrible decision. Throw the ball, stop being afraid and you have a real chance of winning the game.
