Jauron has done it before and he'll do it again. He coaches scared.

For those immediately calling out Trent Edwards
MDH replied to extrahammer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You'll get no argument from me here. Everybody from the top down needs to be let go - coaching staff and front office. Hell, if there was a way to fire the owner I'd be for that too. That being said, Edwards is still accountable for his play. I think the coaching staff has ruined quite a few players in the past decade but ultimately they end up being responsible for their play - fair or not. -
He was horribly inaccurate today. I know you say he only had time to throw on one play but that simply isn't true. He had time on the long throw to Evans and overthrew him (like he overthrew TO last week on the long pass.) He also had time on - I'd estimate - about half his drop back, which I admit is bad. Even so, he's never able to pull the trigger to anybody but RBs or TEs underneath. He started to break out of the shell in the first half with some of those throws to TO but reverted right back to the gun shy QB in the 2nd half. I can't see the entire field on TV but both Evans and TO are quality WRs and they simply can not be well covered on every single pass play. It's simply inconceivable to think that is the case. Trent simply does not have the confidence to throw the ball into tight spaces - which is what an NFL QB has to be able to do. "Open" in the NFL is a half step and it appears to me that Edwards just does not understand this or lacks the confidence to execute it. Either way it ends up killing the offense. The OL was horrible today, I wont' defend them. The penalties were drive killing. But Edwards, once again, showed the same tentative decision making that have fans questioning him.

So you want to bring back Losman too? Obviously since the Bills leadership sucks it absolves the QB of any responsibility and they get a free pass. I'm up for bringing back Holcomb too and maybe even Rob Johnson while we're at it. -
My thoughts too. Most of those idiotic false start penalties on the OL (at home too...) have to do with the no huddle. This OL is just too young to be trying to go no huddle.
-
When he does get time he still doesn't make good decisions with the ball. And someone please tell me WHY DO WE CONTINUE WITH THE NO HUDDLE? The young OL obviously isn't ready for it. Huddle up, let them get their wits about them and I guarantee the penalties will drop.

Trent Edwards is horrible. No, he's not the only horrible part of this team, but he's not a part of the solution. If you can't see that I don't know what to tell you. I'm guessing you backed him from the start and refuse to acknowledge what your eyes see when he steps on the field. Just look at the very end of the game. 23 seconds left at the 40 yard line and he STILL can't fire the ball down field. He thinks that "open" in the NFL means a WR has to have 2 yards of cushion around him. A few weeks ago on 4th and 23 he checks down at the end of the game. A player who is this timid - WITH THE GAME ON THE LINE NONE-THE-LESSS, will never be successful in the NFL. So go ahead and think you see something that every other fan just can't see but all evidence points to Edwards being a large part of the problem. -

We have two decoy WRs in order to ensure that the middle of the field is cleared for our 3rd string TE. -

That would have been a better decision than dumping it off to the RB -

Thank god for the 3 yard dump off on 4th and 23. Make sure you don't get an int Trent, wouldn't want that on your stat line. -

T.O. is my #2 WR this week. Might be the last time that happens. -

Jauron is more concerned with losing close than trying to win. -

Man this D has been impressive today. Just one drive from the offense could win this game... -

None the less he had single coverage on Evans on that play with no help over the top, looked his way immediately and instead of letting it fly holds onto the ball and takes a sack. -

Quick slants to the WRs would help with the blitz as well. -

We're the only team in the league where Ds can take away not just the #1 WR, but the top two guys on a consistent basis. They barely even throw the ball their way. Personally, I'm getting tired of the "we take what they give us" response to this. Somehow every other team in the league manages to get the ball to their WRs... -

His arm was moving forward this will be challenged and reversed. -
The media does stuff like this all the time. The problem is you can't battle the media - you will always lose. T.O. needed to learn how to be their friend, make them like him, manipulate them to do his bidding. Instead he's taken a confrontational stance with them which will always lead the the press finding any and every way to bash him.

Just record the Sunday night sportscenter and fast-forward to "The Blitz" sections. While not as detailed as Prime Time used to be it's still much better than the NBC show.

I hope it's friggin' adamantium.

How does Perry Fewell escape criticism?
MDH replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing that got to me was when Tampa was lining up for 4th and goal the Bills had blitzed on the last 3 downs successfully. The Bucs come up to the LoS and see the Bills showing blitz again. They call a timeout. After the timeout they line up again and the Bills still show blitz pre-snap. I was screaming at the TV coming out the TO, "DO NOT BLITZ, show the blitz but then drop back." What do the Bills do? Snap of the ball, Bills send the house and Leftwhich dumps it off for an easy TD, a play they clearly decided on based on what the Bills had been doing. How dumb does the coaching staff have to be when they know the Bucs called a TO to deal with the blitz and they still send the house? -
I'm trying to remember the last time the Bills had a D that was able to get off the field on 3rd downs on a regular basis instead of this infuriating habit of allowing 3rd and longs to be converted over and over again.

He forgot to sign out and sign back in with a different account - which is still kind of sad.

One has to wonder why a rookie OLman (in his first game none-the-less) had the game awareness to know what to do while the 3rd year QB didn't. Of course, I'm sure someone will come back with a statistic that illustrates why Edwards had more on field awareness than Brady in this game.
