  1. Didn't say he wasn't (I too saw him land on the pile after the sack) - I said they got a lot of that pressure without him, which they did.
  2. Except a lot of that pressure came with Mabin not on the field. Nice try though.
  3. Yep, that's one of the plays - which proves the point that it's not all Mckelvin's fault. Other players made mistakes that contributed to the loss. Of course, the pats still had 3 time outs and the Bills needed to get a first down otherwise Brady was going to get another shot - so it still wasn't a given the Bills win if he doesn't fumble (if it was that much of a certainty the Pats would not have kicked it deep, they would have gone for the onside kick...)
  4. They also pointed out that he had single coverage on a blitz and he didn't put the ball up and let his WRs make a play - he threw it underneath instead. He played a solid game today but to think he played "great" is a large stretch. He needs to find ways to get the ball to his playmakers.
  5. Had the D kept the Pats out of the end zone on either of the last 2 drives the Bills win. Had Edwards moved the Bills down field into FG range the Bills win. Had numerous other mistakes (dropped passes, drive killing penalties) not been made earlier the game might not have even been within reach. How hard is that to understand? NM, go back to your simplistic view that it's all McKelvin's fault if that makes you feel better.
  6. He was manhandled all night. He ran up field on just about every play and was easily pushed wide.
  7. Maybin never really put any pressure on Brady. He ran wide almost every single play and it was a very simple thing to push him wide and Brady to step up in the pocket. It might look like pressure but it's not. The OL loves when guys do this over and over again.
  8. He's right. There were lots of mistakes that helped contribute to the loss. Sure the McKelvin fumble was a big one but that alone did not cost the Bills the game.
  9. On the other hand, if the Bills built on positives and learned from their mistakes they'd be a top tier team by now. Unfortunately we end up seeing the same things year after year with little to no progress.
  10. The Pats did drive up and down the field converting 3rd down after 3rd down. Sure, they didn't finish with TDs most of the time but those long drives take their toll on a defense. Those drives wore down the D which directly led to the late scores Imo.
  11. I don't see how you do it. This team kicks you in the teeth every year and still you remain positive. I really wish I could see things this way, I really do. I'm sure I'd enjoy watching the Bills more if I did.
  12. I'm not ready to say Edwards proved his mettle. He still didn't make use of his WRs and you CAN NOT take a sack at the end of the game. I realize the rush was there immediately but he's got to get rid of it, just throw it away.
  13. I knew someone would come in with a line like this. His sack in the 1st half ended a drive (read: Big play) and his TD stayed on the board the entire game (read: big play). Nobody is saying Schobel is Bruce but the guy is a good DE, there are plenty of players that Bills fans could ridicule yet they choose to get on the back of one of their best players.
  14. yeah, having the top special teams unit year after year is soooooooo overrated.
  15. They blitzed in the 2nd half too. I blame Jauron too but not for not blitzing. I blame him for running a no huddle offense and a bend but don't break D at the same time. It's a recipe that's ripe for losing games in the 4th when you have a totally gassed D who can no longer create pressure. Who didn't think the D would be easy pickings in the 4th with the ToP difference?
  16. I don't blame Mckelvin because this team would have found a way to lose anyway. They would have gone three and out and punted and allowed a punt return or allowed Brady to orcastrate a 75 second, 70 yard drive or Fred Jackson would have fumbled the ball, etc. It's just what the team does, one way or another they'd find a way to lose. Top teams have lots of guys who step up to win games, bad teams have multiple guys who will make the big time mistake to lose games.
  17. Please tell me you're not going to take the moral victory route? This team has been pathetic for a decade and still fans try to find the sunshine during a hurricane.
  18. How is it worse than any of the other choke jobs? I knew they were going to blow it when they went up 24-13. I sent a text to a friend saying, "just watch, this will be dallas all over again." I'm guessing most Bills fans knew they'd find a way to lose - it's what this franchise does.
  19. As far as TV announcers go I like Jaws. Add to it getting rid of Cornholio and adding Gruden and I hope too hear more football talk and less "entertainment." I haven't gotten to see them this pre-season yet so for all I know they totally suck as a team - I guess I'll see tomorrow.
  20. The Bills don't just need to win the turnover battle, they need to have a +2 or +3 edge and score 10+ points off of turnovers. The Bills could win the turnover battle by 1 and still get demolished. The only chance I see of the Bills winning is if Brady gets hurt early. Otherwise I just don't see how this Bills D can stop the Pats.
  21. Personally, I'd prefer to see the no huddle run at a slower, Colts like, pace. I don't want the offense to be out on the field for one minute drives when they go three and out. This defense, as we've seen in the past, doesn't get off the field. Even when they force teams to punt they allow plenty of first downs in the process. With the no huddle on offense that D is going to get no time to rest and be totally gassed by the 2nd half.
  22. The tone of the board would be different if the Bills coaching staff and front office had shown in the past the ability to field a winning team. After a decade of futility people remain skeptical about the Bills chances and - imo - rightfully so.
  23. Rebuilding again Perpetually it seems Wait till next season...
  24. Guess I'm in the minority in that I just re-activated my DirecTV account (as opposed to canceling - or threatening to cancel.) For the past 3 years I'd just sign up for ST and the base package and cancel after 4 months (I owned my own box so I didn't have to sign a contract and could go month to month.) Of course, they changed the signal last year and my old box no longer worked so I had to make a decision this year - go full time with DTV or miss out on games (or buy a REALLY expensive box.) We got an offer in the mail to "come back" which included every premium channel plus base channels for free for 6 months (on a 2 year agreement) plus a free HDDVR plus free Superfan. We just couldn't pass that up and after pricing what it will be once we actually have to start paying the bill (6 months from now) it's on par with what we payed to our local cable provide. Mostly, I'm just glad to be rid of the horrible cable DRV which had very limited search functions, very little hard drive space and only recorded about half the stuff that it was scheduled to record.
