  2. I think we need to deal from a position of strength....Call the Ravens and offer T. Mcgee and a future 4th round pick for Gaither. The Ravens need a CB desperately.......We need the LT desperately. Both teams took the best available approach in the draft and left a hole in the roster. We definitely have a surplus of corners and I actually thought Florence was our best CB last year. He played lights out after Mckelvin got hurt. We have the depth with Corner, Youboty, and Lankster.
  3. this might be the most insightful post I have read on this board. Thanks for the information. Well done! It might take Edwards 2-3 years more to correct his flaws. We don't have that kind of time to invest in him and the risk is too great. As much as I hate to say it, this team needs to finish 3-13 or 4-12 and make the right quarterback selection next year. Bradford, Tebow, Mccoy, Claussen.....do as much scouting and research as you can and make sure you get the right guy!
  4. it's dead because Tim is taking heat and doesn't know how to respond. the article was amateur material and I am assuming we won't hear from him.
  5. Pretty excited over this move....He may not be able to play at a high level right away but I am certainly excited about his long term potential. This guy could very well be our RT of the future with Bell, Hangartner, Levitre, and Wood. For the first time in a long time I think we could be setting ourselves up for an extended run at being a contender. If Edwards continues to develop and Nelson is what we expect, we could see something special on offense. GO GO BUFFALO!!
  6. I will probably get beat up for this because you never want to be without your best players....... but with the limited opportunities Youboty had in camp this might be good for the team long term. We get to take a look at Youboty and hopefully he reverts back to early 2008 form. He made a big difference in our 3rd down defense in the limited time he was available last year. If Mcgee is going to miss, TB would be the game I would pick. We will need him 100% for New Orleans.
  7. I think the answer is somewhere in between. By no means was Whitner's play horrendous but it wasn't all that good either. I'm sorry folks but this guy will be replaceable quite easily when the contract runs up and something tells me he will be looking for a fresh start and will have no interest in the Bills. Byrd will be the guy at FS by week 5 and will make plays. Whitner's reads are slow and he is always a couple steps late to the action.
  8. UP : Shawn Nelson, Nic Harris, Demetrius Bell DOWN: KO Simpson, Donte Whitner, Brad Butler
  9. updated 25 minutes ago from the AP: PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bills say they are not pursuing Michael Vick and have no plans to do so. A burst of chatter on blogs, message boards and tweets about Buffalo being a possible match for the recently reinstated quarterback prompted Bills general manager Russ Brandon to address the question again on Thursday. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090813/ap_on_...bn_vick_bills_2
  10. I just want to say that I met Chris Kelsay last year at a benefit and he was very personable. He asked about my family and chit chatted with my wife and I for at least twenty minutes. When we talked football, this guy got real passionate about the game and he mentioned over and over about how bad the team just wanted to give the fans a playoff berth and a shot at a championship. Say what you want about the guy but the fact that our front office overpaid him is not his fault. The fact remains that he is passionate about the game, recognizes the need to win for the fans, and is a genuine nice guy. I realize his play does not reflect his pay but the guy brings max effort every game. I hope he has a breakout season with new coaching and some added competition.
  11. I would love to see the right side stay intact. I think Jones (if healthy), Chambers, or Bell could do just as good as Walker at LT. I really don't like Walker over there. And if we are going no huddle I worry about Walker tiring, he's a big man. Jones - Wood - Hangartner - Butler - Walker/Chambers works for me. Butler has been injury prone and we would have Levitre to back him up.
  12. Why couldn't Mccargo and Wendell both make the team? Is anyone that impressed with Spencer Johnson? I thought he was below average last year. A classic tweener.....Not good enough to be DE and not big enough to make an impact inside. Maybe I am way off, I just don't remember him making any impactful plays. DT depth remains my only concern with this team....If Stroud happens to go down, we are in big trouble.
  13. Can anybody with connections to the Bills please put a plug in for signing Philip Hunt. My bet is he could compete with Chris Ellis for a roster spot right now. The video of him at East/West shrine practice is attention grabbing in my opinion. I really wanted to come out of the draft with more than one DE that could bring pressure. Front office are you listening? Bell was a real solid pickup. Could be yet another UDFA gem at OT !!
  14. Watch the Draft guys video and tell me he can't be a third down specialist. Would be a great signing. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2668711/phil..._video_profile/
  15. Joel Bell is a great pickup. many scouts had a third round grade on this OT. Way to go Buffalo. Orion martin is great pickup too. How bad was the Ellis pick???? Martin replaced him and had similar if not better numbers. Same position, same system.
