  2. Tis the season of speculation. The problem here is you are picking and choosing what rumors and speculation to believe. There is so much crap out there, it's hard to discern what is real.
  3. No doubt he's been scouring the net looking for it!
  4. The entire organization will be sad to see you go. And thank you sincerely for this thread...
  5. From all I've read, he's got the arm talent, but played in an offense in college that didn't require him to go through a series of reads. Word is he locks on one target. We've seen that before, and it didn't end well.
  6. More smoke, but would be great if true. It's unlikely they'd use 5 to get him, so either they trade back, or use 5 on another position. Either way could work in our favor. Unfortunately there's going to be 20 more reports like this about different teams and different QB's. Tis the season!
  7. Although I agree that it's unlikely, he does seem like a decent guy to take a flier on. We're very thin at WR, and the guy has the talent to be a contributor. If you can get him on a very small one year deal it might be worth the risk, if not, cut him and move on.
  8. I'm not opposed to that idea, but I am opposed to using the 12th pick this year to make that happen. In my opinion 12 has to be used to either get the QB of the future, or if that's not possible, one of Smith or Edmunds drops to 12 and you grab an all pro 3 down LB.
  9. I like the player, as a safety, he'll be real good. But with our QB, LB, and WR needs, I don't see it happening. He's not playing LB on first down, and we'd likely need to use pick 12 to get him, so I think that pretty much closes the door on this.
  10. Now that we have Pete's opinion, we're going to need a thread from every other member on this important topic not currently being discussed elsewhere. All kidding aside, I'm in favor of moving up for the right guy at the right cost. As a fan, I want a sexy move up to grab a franchise QB, but I completely trust McBeane to determine the right next move.
  11. I think Beane and company have a pretty good sense of what it's going to take to get to the spot they need to be. If that's the case, then absolutely, move up to 7 now. But just moving to 7 now in hopes you get the guy you want is risky on a number of levels (all your guys go early, other teams can jump ahead of you, etc.). I guess in short, I trust the process and won't be freaking out either way. But I get it if they wait until draft day.
  12. I'd be all for this...on draft day. You only move to 8, or 7, if you know your guy is there.
  13. As you alluded, Mel is pretty much never correct, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. It is possible that 4 QB's go in the first 5 picks though, in which case I think we stay put and take a dominant LB at 12, then 22 leaves plenty of options (including QB, dependent on how high they are on Jackson or Rudolph). There's also the option of waiting until next year, and maybe even dealing 22 for a first next year, if you're really not sold on the guys left. I definitely don't want them just reaching on a guy to appease the fan base. The key isn't getting A guy, it's getting THE guy.
  14. Likely more smoke, but smoke I can get behind!
  15. His talent isn't worth the acquisition cost, and the headaches he brings along with him. Hard pass.
  16. All comes down to the season he has. If he goes out there and remains healthy, puts up 900-1100 yards, he'll get PAID by someone (hopefully the Bills). If he's hurt and has another sub par year, he's probably looking at a short term deal in the 6-7M range.
  17. I'm not sure he went out of his way...he's being asked questions and has to say something. The game for these guys is saying something, without actually saying anything at all. Not sure McD is the type to float smokescreens.
