  1. Nice...and the best I could get was $10/off month.
  2. I'm a 17 year customer and the best they could do was $10 off/month for ST Max. I cancelled the ST automatic renewal and will call back later in August when my other credits run out. The CR did tell me though that in late August, ST discounts tend to appear. So, I'll call near the end of the month and do the dance again.
  3. I have an "M" on each cheek. When I bend over, it says "MOM."
  4. For me it was the 1990 AFC championship vs. the Raiders. The crowd was cheering throughout the National Anthem (remember we had just gone to war and as of the day before, playing the game due to security concerns was in doubt). The first quarter was bedlam and when Talley ran the back the pick six, we knew we were SB bound. I don't think anyone sat down the whole time.
  5. Did you get ST Max for $99? Go O's!
  6. Hmmm...I'm a Verizon/FIOS (internet/phone) guy and I always use the "FIOS/COX in my neighborhood" routine. Seems like the AT&T folks are getting the better deals which is understandable.
  7. How can you get tired of watching this? This guy's YouTube NFL Films music library is incredible.
  8. I'll root for New England when they play ISIS. They are my most hated team in all of sports.
  9. Charlie Jones' best call, I think when the Bills scored to make it 35-31: "Ya gotta love it...unless you're in Houston!" Am I mistaken or did TV stations in Buffalo and Rochester replay the game the following Friday night?
  10. I agree with an earlier post...too early to call. I usually call around the 2nd preseason game. I think the original poster caught a break because he has AT&T; that makes a big difference. I've got about $55 in credits/month that expires in August, will make the annual call, get the credits and hopefully get ST at a reduced price.
  11. In the fridge: Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (Delaware) Brooklyn Lager (actually brewed in Utica) Flying Dog Doggie Style Pale Ale (Maryland) New Belgium Fat Tire (Colorado...also now brewing in NC) Brooklyn Summer in cans is my go-to summer brew...sorry to hear about the quality this year. What ever happened to Brooklyn '55 Pennant Ale? It was a great beer.
  12. My top ten, in no particular order: Saving Private Ryan The Longest Day Bridge on the River Kwai The Great Escape Patton The Dirty Dozen Kelly's Heroes In Harm's Way Tora Tora Tora! Sands of Iwo Jima If I'm flipping through the channels and one of those come up, I always stop to watch
  13. Poor Steve Tasker has probably seen more Tennessee or Jacksonville games than most of their fans.
  14. Went there religiously from '91-'99. Got DTV in late '99 and have been back just occasionally. I live about five minutes away and have been there 2-3 times/year for dinner. In the halcyon days, it was a lot of fun and a madhouse; you needed to be there by 11:00am for a 1:00pm game, and I sometimes would see tailgaters in the plaza's parking lot. Some great games I remember watching there were the '91 OT game vs. the Raiders, the "No Punt" game vs. SF, and the '93 AFC championship game vs. Miami. Went there for the SF game earlier this year, and it wasn't the same...only about a quarter of the place were Bills fans, it seemed like there were more Steelers and Pats fans there than Bills fans. Jimmy's in Herndon is a good, if not better, alternative, but the memories of Grevey's will live on.
  15. What ever happened to the blue throwback 1960's jersey? The last three (or more?) home throwback games have featured the white road jersey.
  16. I was at that game; drove to Pittsburgh the night before from DC on a whim, got up the next morning and driving the remaining two hours to Cleveland. Some highlights: Got tickets for $40 before we got out of the car by a guy selling while we waited in line to park Parked right near the lake, and with the wind blowing on us, proceeded to consume ice cold Gennys Of the near 80,000 fans there, at least 20,000 were Bills fans OJ prowling the sidelines for NBC, with chants of "Juice, Juice!" ringing in his ears Bebee with the body flip head stand During the Bills final drive, everyone was standing, with the guy next to me pissing in an empty Jack Daniels bottle The "Harmon Drop" was in our end zone, and even after watching countless replays, I still contend the pass was catchable, but I would hardly call it a "drop." Driving back to DC after the game and listening to the SU game on WHAM and getting thumped by 'Nova for their first loss of the season
  17. Who the heck is Tom McCarthy?
  18. Strange how a lot of "experts" are showing the Fish love after one freakin' game.
  19. According to Jack's sched breakdown, the Oakland game is the only one that looks even remotely possible.. Dallas, even if they don't win another game, will never be flexed out of Sunday night. I'm fine with that, though; much prefer Sunday afternoon.
  20. Finally, a common sense answer.
  21. This is great, never saw it before. Thanks for the find!
  22. I want to join the chorus and thank you for putting together a very comprehensive list. Some of my rants on today's game, shared previously by others: Bad quarterback play: NFL caliber quarterbacks playing today you can count on one hand. Heck, when I was a kid, even the woeful Eagles had Norm Snead. Injuries: Look at the Bills situation and every NFL team has its own version of a MASH unit. I get that injuries are part of the game, but it just seems so rampant these days. Sunday Ticket is a god-send, but why a list price of $360???? I've haggled every August with DTV and gotten the price down, but sheesh, make it more affordable and accessible. Concussions. Use to be somebody just "got his bell rung." Well, we've lived and learned...almost. Is there a way to make the game safer? I doubt it. But for every retirement, there's 50 guys waiting in the wings. Wait until Troy Aikman starts show signs of head trauma...on the air. It's coming. The "criminal element" isn't getting better. Who was caught with a gun/bag of drugs/getting a DUI today? I know the NFL is made up of about 3000 individuals and you can count on that behavior within any 3000 person demographic, but with the money today's players are making, at such a young age, their posses/groupies/hangers-on are steering the athlete in every direction and it's actually surprising there isn't more bad behavior. I think the five percent are ruining it for the 95 percent who are genuinely good guys. Back to TV: it's over-saturated to the point that often times the late afternoon game between Tennessee and Jacksonville can't draw flys. Why is the NFL in Tennessee and Jacksonville in the first place? Stadium experience: Look what happened in Baltimore last weekend. I enjoy a few cold ones at the stadium and always stay within good behavior when wearing Bills colors on the road, but it's scary out there. Jeeziz, after a Bills-Browns game in Cleveland several years ago, a game Cleveland won, getting out of the stadium was like running a gauntlet. Sorry to carry on...end of rant.
  23. My thoughts as well...16-14 Bills.
  24. Long range forecast calling for a hot one: sunny, 87 degrees.
  25. Good deal. Earlier this month, I got the $50 off for 12 months plus the free 4 month Showtime. I cancelled ST because the best they could do was $6 off/month. Looks like it's time to soon call again.
