Watching on TV, there seemed to be a whole bunch of orange-clad Denver fans in the lower bowl. I don't recall a huge Denver following in WNY and I don't believe all of those folks flew in from the Rockies...anyone who was there, did it seem like an unusual number of away fans?

I saw him there...he was sitting on Heitz's cooler. -
After seeing the non-call in slow motion several times, it was a pretty blatant miss by one or more officials...the linebacker used the facemask to bring Shady down and it should have resulted in the ball being at the 25, first and ten with the clock stopped. I don't get the arguments about it shouldn't come down to this...the game was on the line in the final two minutes. This is what happens often in football. Yes, a complete game for the 58 minutes would have negated the need, but it didn't happen. The Bills had a chance to win and one play can change the dynamic of the game...this would have changed the play calling in the final minute, with two timeouts. I'm also tired of hearing about Zay's "drop." This was certainly not a Ronnie Harmon-like play. It would have been a great play for him to come down with the ball...it was hardly a "drop."

The entire soundtrack is great...it actually inspired Ed Sabol to make NFL Films as much about the music as the video.

When going to O's games, I park up in the Hippodrome Theater garage on N. Pratt, just up from W. Baltimore St...little bit of a hike but it's easy in and out.

Joe Kelly, Jim's father, has passed away
Ned Flanders replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good story: After the divisional playoff game in Pittsburgh, following The Comeback, we were walking from a nearby bar to our car to start the journey home. We came across an RV with folks in Bills jackets all around and it turned out to be the Kelly crew. We walked by to have a peek and Joe immediately invited us in to share in hots, hamburgs, beer, etc. Now, we're just a couple of dolts in Bills gear, but Joe couldn't have been more accommodating...a true class act. Even got to meet Jim, who as everyone remembers did not play in that game, but started the next week in the win at Miami. -
I called yesterday and it took almost an hour, the service reps weren't very helpful at first and I've come to the conclusion that if you have AT&T cellular, you've got much more bargaining power...more so than a 17 year customer like myself (we have Verizon for cell/internet and don't foresee switching). Anywho, I got my $50/month credit renewed and got ST Max for $99. I don't have any movie channels, had no interest in getting them and we rarely watched HBO when we had it. I'm sure I could have negotiated something movie-wise but I was happy with the deal.

Anyone recognize this fan from the Rockpile? https://youtu.be/Ajkf9IB8cNo?t=18m42s

How long have you been with them?
-
Nice...and the best I could get was $10/off month.
-
I'm a 17 year customer and the best they could do was $10 off/month for ST Max. I cancelled the ST automatic renewal and will call back later in August when my other credits run out. The CR did tell me though that in late August, ST discounts tend to appear. So, I'll call near the end of the month and do the dance again.

Do you have any tattoos and if so what are they?

I have an "M" on each cheek. When I bend over, it says "MOM." -
For me it was the 1990 AFC championship vs. the Raiders. The crowd was cheering throughout the National Anthem (remember we had just gone to war and as of the day before, playing the game due to security concerns was in doubt). The first quarter was bedlam and when Talley ran the back the pick six, we knew we were SB bound. I don't think anyone sat down the whole time.

Did you get ST Max for $99? Go O's!
-
Hmmm...I'm a Verizon/FIOS (internet/phone) guy and I always use the "FIOS/COX in my neighborhood" routine. Seems like the AT&T folks are getting the better deals which is understandable.

How can you get tired of watching this? This guy's YouTube NFL Films music library is incredible.

BILLS/OILERS WILDCARD GAME
Ned Flanders replied to Marv's Neighbor's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Charlie Jones' best call, I think when the Bills scored to make it 35-31: "Ya gotta love it...unless you're in Houston!" Am I mistaken or did TV stations in Buffalo and Rochester replay the game the following Friday night? -
I agree with an earlier post...too early to call. I usually call around the 2nd preseason game. I think the original poster caught a break because he has AT&T; that makes a big difference. I've got about $55 in credits/month that expires in August, will make the annual call, get the credits and hopefully get ST at a reduced price.

In the fridge: Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (Delaware) Brooklyn Lager (actually brewed in Utica) Flying Dog Doggie Style Pale Ale (Maryland) New Belgium Fat Tire (Colorado...also now brewing in NC) Brooklyn Summer in cans is my go-to summer brew...sorry to hear about the quality this year. What ever happened to Brooklyn '55 Pennant Ale? It was a great beer.

My top ten, in no particular order: Saving Private Ryan The Longest Day Bridge on the River Kwai The Great Escape Patton The Dirty Dozen Kelly's Heroes In Harm's Way Tora Tora Tora! Sands of Iwo Jima If I'm flipping through the channels and one of those come up, I always stop to watch

Poor Steve Tasker has probably seen more Tennessee or Jacksonville games than most of their fans.

Greevy's Sports Bar

Went there religiously from '91-'99. Got DTV in late '99 and have been back just occasionally. I live about five minutes away and have been there 2-3 times/year for dinner. In the halcyon days, it was a lot of fun and a madhouse; you needed to be there by 11:00am for a 1:00pm game, and I sometimes would see tailgaters in the plaza's parking lot. Some great games I remember watching there were the '91 OT game vs. the Raiders, the "No Punt" game vs. SF, and the '93 AFC championship game vs. Miami. Went there for the SF game earlier this year, and it wasn't the same...only about a quarter of the place were Bills fans, it seemed like there were more Steelers and Pats fans there than Bills fans. Jimmy's in Herndon is a good, if not better, alternative, but the memories of Grevey's will live on.
