"SHould the Bills franchise Poz"? There is not one single player on the Bills that should be considered fo that Tag? You're telling the world that you think Poz is equal to or greater than the top five LBs in the game? Seriously, is that what you believe? Think that over.

1st Ballot Hall of Famer ?? NOT !!!
Dr. Trooth replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm. I could've sworn somewhere I read that he was. I'm guessing you don't like Mr. Sanders. OK, but, his off field performance has nothing to do with is performance on the gridiron. I wouldn't go that far. Sure, he's deserving of the Hall, but, you ever heard of Darrell Green? -
No CBA might benefit Buffalo's Draft
Dr. Trooth replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It might make sense. However, how does it benefit the Bills? The OBD assclowns can't draft worth schitt given a constant set of paramenters. Now throw in the components suggested and OBD is totally lost. Instead of them normally throwing darts at a target 10 feet away, and barely making contact on the edges, the target is now half the size and they have to throw from 10 feet further back. -
UH, dude... Blake Costanzo is a LB for the Cleveland Browns that used to play for the Bills.

Super Bowl Attendance Record Bull ****
Dr. Trooth replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whether they stand outside or sit in lawn chairs, as long as they have to pay to occupy that space to watch the game within the perimeter of Jerry Jones Stadium, then it counts. And, the receipts from those temp seats are legit. -
Until Gaither demonstrates he wants to earn his money, I doubt there will be too many teams standing in line to offer him big money. And, I don't think he'd be a significant upgrade over Bell.

Hey, I'd take a gamble on Newton in the 7th round. You never know, he might be able to become a decent backup wide receiver. After all, playing QB he has demonstrated good hands.

As the Doc has stated more than once over the past several weeks... The Bills no. 1 need is at nose tackle. One or both... Taylor or Kenrick Ellis I'd be Ok with in the draft. Now, that is not to say that the Bills should use their first pick on a NT. However, if they do not address the position and acquire a big time NT in the offseason, there won't be a dime's difference in the defense from the 2010 season. Kyle Williams and Torell Troup are not the answer at nose tackle. That's been tried over a full season and it has clearly failed.

Imagine this... The Bills in the Super Bowl
Dr. Trooth replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imagine the Bills making the playoffs. Even that will take a few years. The Super Bowl? Never again in Ralph's lifetime. -
Jeff Fisher to part ways with Titans
Dr. Trooth replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't understand why Tenn. woyld even consider drafting Cam Newton. I mean, why draft Vince Young light when you've already got Vince Young original. In other words, why release Vince Young and draft ... er, uh, Vince Young? -
No 340 lb. nose tackle, expect the same result as last season, defensively. Bringing back Poz and simply adding Sherrod beside him will accomplish nothing. Poz was part of the problem. His 80% 150 tackles were 5yds.or more beyond the LOS. And, Kyle Williams is not a nose tackle. That's why good guards and centers get to the second level and get into LBs and DBs. Eight 200 yard rushing games doesn't lie.

Yes... he is a great QB for the scout team. He holds a clipboard very well and keeps Fitz company when the D is on the field (which is usually a very long time on Sunaday's). Brohm was bad. Levi was "worser" than Brohm.

Im Confused about the Shawn Merriman signing
Dr. Trooth replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes... the interview style is extremely important. Good for at least 200 tackles and 20 sacks in the first 8 games alone. And, sure, the Bills could use another OLB coach... one to the tune of $2.5M (highest paid asst. on the Bills) that has played about 4 full NFL seasons. Actually... with the CBA up in the air, what were the Bills options at OLB? As I understand, it was an incentive loaded deal and not much guaranteed money, if any. If he pans out, great, if he doesn't, cut him. If he gets hurt... whip up an injury settlement. It's a low risk high reward deal. If you think Merriman was a bad deal, take a look at Kelsay's deal. Yeah, Kelsay stays healthy and plays... the downside... he's part of that defense that is ranked 32 against the run... and defending the run is supposedly his strength. -
If Buddy is OK with the Oline as it is, then it's no wonder the Bills can't run nor keep the quarterback upright. If Wood moves to center, then whomever is plugged in at Wood's guard spot will be a significant dropoff from Wood. So, they upgrade their center position and downgrade their RG position. Meanwhile, neither LT or RT are even average. Buddy can say and think what he wants. But, I, and thousands of other Bills fans saw both tackles consistently savaged by the opposition's defense throughout the season... and that was with keeping a TE and RB in to block in passing situations.

Gotta get someone in there to make sure Littman and Overdork or counting Ralph's money correctly.

Tell me again what wins championships?
Dr. Trooth replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I don't just consider myself a realist... I am a realist. So, it's good once and a while to be on, or close to the same page as someone. I don't embellish anything. Bills fans, in general "over value" the Bills players and coaches and "under value" any other team an players that are not the Bills. OK. You don't think this team is "years away" from contending. Well, "years" is plural. So, it indicates two or more years from now. From what I see right here, right now, it's hard for me to imagine a playoff game in the next 5 years. 1) I'm looking at a defense that got trampled and ravaged big time this past season. One, two, or three good players is not going to suddenly vault them into the top 10 defensively. And, a decision to be a "hybrid" defense (4-3 one week, two weeks later a 3-4) is the worst thing they could do. It might surprise a few teams and the Bills could steal a game or two just like the Dolphins did with the wildcat (but look at the Dolphins... where are they now and where are they going), but when you switch back and forth like that, you have different starters, different groupings of personnel, and when you get an injury or two, now you're in a pickle because you have to service two freaking different alignments and the personnel. 2) A GM coach that look clueless. They say they're going to the 3-4 initially... fail to realize they don't have the personnel, and now they waffle and want to bounce back and forth. They look indecisive and uncommitted to what they said the very first few days they were on the job. 3) This team has gotten virtually nothing from their last 5 or 6 first round picks. If it wasn't for Wood, they'd be totally shut out in the first round. Their draft picks, in general, over those same period haven't really made a significant impact. Kyle Williams, Steve Johnson, Levitre, Wood, Byrd, are the only one that have really. So, they haven't demonstrated they can draft. I can understand why they only bring in "B" and "C" free agents in because why bring in a high priced FA when you've got nothing around him. They whiffed badly on 4 QBs in the past decade. The parade of cheap street free agent Olineman like Scott, Simmons, Green, Hangartner, Teague, Gandy, Reyes just illustrates their incompetence to draft right and fortify their OL. And, the same could be said for almost every position. There is no plauseable evidence that they are going to turn this thing around anytime soon. The offense surprised me this year and played pretty good... relative to how they normally played over the past few years, but their offense ain't even in the same league as offenses like GB, NE, Indy, NO, SD, DAL, PHILLY, etc. They can't consistently run the ball. Got a beat up 31 yr old as their best RB and a 1st round scat back that can't (or won't) run between the tackles and can't even seem to get outside and turn it up field. An offensive line that sorely needs an upgrade at both tackles and TE has been a revolving door for years. Meanwhile, I guarantee the Jets, Pats, Dolphins will get better in the offseason. Brady's got another 4-5 years, Sanchez will only be going into his third season, Miami still has a good defense and will a new OC have a positive affect on Henne? So, when you're mired in a decade of 72-88, how can anyone have any measure of confidence in Ralph and his cronies that we'll see playoffs when you're in the same division with those other teams. You've got to hope some bad things happen to those teams at the same time good luck hits the Bills to even get close. -
Buddy & Nix are kinda backing themselves in a corner if they draft a "senior bowler". When they whiff on another draft pick, especially one they coached up in the senior bowl, how are they going to "splain" their way out of that one?

What's the difference between
Dr. Trooth replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference between the Bills and the Packers? Well, there's a lot of difference. The biggest, their share holders (fans), hate, and will not tolerate, losing. The Packers successfully transitioned from a 4-3 defense they were in for years to a 3-4 defense in a single year. On the other hand, the Bills appear to be making that transition over several years. -
It could snow in North Carolina. The possibilities are endless. The first thing that has to happen is for Easley to get on the field. The second thing, he has to produce... and produce consistently. Evans draws the double teams. Easley and Johnson don't. When teams start doubleteaming and game planning for Easley or Johnson, then I'll believe it.

I don't like the new conference trophies
Dr. Trooth replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don't like it? Evidently, Ralph and the rest of the Bills team don't like it either. They're on orders not to even think about challenging for as much as a sniff of it. -
WHitner? You mean the Whitner dude that used to play for the Bills? What's he doing these days, selling insurance, motivational speaker, or selling used cars?

Tell me again what wins championships?
Dr. Trooth replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3 common denominators (I'm sure there are more) 1) Both have upper echelon QBs 2) Both run the 3-4 D (not 4-3 and not hybrid) 3) Both have big fat slobs in the middle (Ask the Jets if the miss Kris Jenkins... they are a totally different defense wothout him) -
Dudes... you are being played. You just don't realize it. You only need to remove the rose colored glasses you are wearing. So, don't vent on the messenger. Vent on the idiots at OBD. They are the true reason for your angst. Hey, 72-98 over the past 10 seasons, I kinda think the data is on my side dudes. And, allow me to extrapolate... The Bills ain't going to be much better next season. Here's an illustration that you might be able to follow... You have a house. The house has a bad foundation and a bad roof that's been leaking for the past 10 years. You decide to do a patch job on the foundation (Buddy and Chan) and forgo replacing the foundation because that's a huge, more complicated and expensive job. You've also been patching the holes in the roof, but leaks keep happening in different areas. So, you decide to replace a section of the roof (enter, your savior Wanny). Well, the rest of the roof is still bad and leaks will continue to happen. Meanwhile, your foundation foundation and roof are still bad and you continue to not address it. Now, I don't know what you think Wanny's gonna do. Turn water into wine? Turn Maybin into a player? Right... The Peace Bridge is for sale for $100,000. Write this down somewhere... after next season (2 tops) Wanny will be gone and on to his next demolition project. And ya know what? The Bills still won't be in the playoffs.

Great publicity stunt by the Bills. That ought to be good for 5,000 season tix. Let me see... George Edwards is the DC. But, his superior is the Asst. HC and LB coach. Hey George, sounds like you just got busted to shift supervisor and you answer to the Asst. Foreman. Bills look totally lost. First thee switch to the 3-4. Oops, Buddy and Chan forget, we don't have the talent (or coaching) to make that switch. Well, now that we're halfway there and suck, how about let's go somewhere in between and we'll call it the "hybrid". The fans will buy that term hook, line and sinker and believe they are getting the best of both defenses and that the Bills will be successful with it. So, the season plays out and everyone knows Edwards is in over his head. So, let's bring in Dick LeBeau like we did in 03. Oops, we get Wanny now instead of LeBeau as a consultant? Fricking Wanny? He knows squat about the 3-4. Oh, wait. The Bills are going back to the 4-3. Brilliant. Meanwhile, the Bills still do not have the big three inside or any outside rushing presence. Oh, I get it, our 260 lb. outside LB Merriman will be a high motor DE in the 4-3. Oh what fun it is being a Bills fan. One step forward, two steps backward.
