  1. The initial post eluded to Fitz's 19 TD 14 int. season thus far. But, then went on to make a lot of excuses Fitz. Well, when folks look back on the numbers after a season, there won't be any asterisks, ands, ifs, or buts. Just cold hard numbers to look at. That will speak for itself. At the end of the day the numbers will tell whether or not Fitz is a franchise QB. Maybe he is, and maybe he ain't but someone's definition or standard. And, maybe he's just a franchise QB for a really bad franchise.
  2. B-o-r-i-n-g Pro Bowl? What a waste of time, good turf, footballs, jerseys, pads, helmets and tv resources. Geez. Why don't they just play a madden pro bowl. It might just be more physical.
  3. Aren't you giving Bell too much love and Hairston not enough? I mean they both only have 4 starts this season and Hairston hasn't been a turnstyle like Bell. I kinda think Bell has lost his starting job at LT.
  4. Amen on that. Larry Fitzgerald he ain't.
  5. I don't know why everyone keeps insisting the Bills run a 3-4 or a 4-3. They run a 5-2. Just as you mention, two career long defensive linemen play outside and folks call them LBs because they play out there. But I'll tell you what. If there's a single offensive coach in this league that would rather not see those two in coverage against their offense I'll buy you dinner.
  6. I'm guessing there's a reason the Bills haven't already locked him up. And, after watching Johnson's actions after his TD today, that's a sure sign he wants out of Buffalo, cuz he must know Ralph won't give up his $$$ for a player that demonstrates stupidity like that.
  7. Bills are gonna have two WRs in free agency. Johnson and Parrish. Parrish ain't gonna command much on the open market and neither will Johnson. So, among other positions the Bills are going to have to sign an experienced FA WR. There are three WRs with the size that seem to be the type of WR the Bills like. Dwayne Bowe, Marques Colston, Steve Johnson. No matter what the Bills will overpay for who they sign. Which of those three do you overpay? I say go with the production, "BOWE". Especially seeing he's had no QB. (side note: Bowe played for Chan when he was OC in KC) Who do you think the Bills should pay?
  8. How do you explain injuries on all of the other teams? Take a look at the Pats. Half their oline and most of their secondary is out. They've been w/o Ty Warren all year as well. With the lock out, these guys were on their own. They worked with trainers that had no clue of conditioning for an NFL athlete. So, if the S&C coaches don't have an opportunity to work with their guys in the offseason, how can they be blamed? You want to blame someone? There's only one constant over the past 12 years... Ralph Wilson. The man is not about winning. That's a fact.
  9. Why do you think the Bills FO is not strong and competitive? Answer: Because Ralph Wilson wants exactly that. He doean't care about a competive team, so he's going to bring in stooges like Buddy and Gailey. Maybe, if he lives long enough, one of these days he might get it wrong and accidentally hire the next Bill Polian and the team start winning despite him. I'm getting closer to looking at being a Bills fan as being in a really bad marriage. When do you just say F*ckit, and proceed with the divorce, then jst sit back and watch the NFL just as a fan of football, then start following a team that does all the things that you think a team should do right. Man, I think I could really enjoy being a Packers or Steelers fan instead of putting myself through this same old stupid bullsch!tt as a Bills fan?
  10. You can't chastise Gailey for using the "film" defense. When emotions run high, one can easily misspeak. With 53 dudes in the loacker room that you are the leader of, wouldn't you be concerned about that and choose your words wisely. He could easily say this guy should have done this or that, but when you look at the film you notice something else... maybe a guy was held or foot caught in the turf... there are lots of things that can happen that you don't want to guess at and have to eat your words. As for Wanny. OK, some posters got me started. WTF has Wanny done for anyone lately? He sucked with the Bears (look it up). He sucked with the Dolphins (look it up). He sucked with Pitt (look it up). End of story.
  11. Judging from the Bills performance over the past dozen years, he ain't gonna come close to winning that argument!
  12. When Chan or Buddy use the word "hybrid" to describe the Bills defense, they're not referring to any semblance of the 3-4 or 4-3. The last four games the Bills have run a 5-2. That's a new defense all it's own. Kelsay, Carrington, Dareus, Edwards, and Spencer Johnson are all defensive lineman with Speppard and Barnett as LBs. Buddy said we get bigger and he was right. I don't think he mentioned being good though. If he did, that would be a huge lie.
  13. Like Chan says, football is a "tough game for tough people". Well, OK, then why create a finesse offense? The Bills fans were under the impression the Bills were gonna be this big physical football team. Buddy and Chan told us so. What happened? I could go on and on.
  14. What do you mean "the front office needs to be held accountable"? They're only accountable to Ralph, and Ralph thinks they are doing a fine job. He's turning a nice profit. Any questions? (and don't ask anything about winning... that ain't on the "to do" list.
  15. That's a dickhead thing to say. No doubt Ralph is the single biggest problem with the Bills. He will meet his maker, as we all will, when his card is turned. In the meantime, we all know when Ralph departs the team will be sold. My question is, if the team is gonna be sold, why not sell the damn team now? What is to be gained... unless it's about punishing the fan base. My question to Ralph is why wait til you pass and leave the mess for your heirs to clean up? Why not sell now when you can oversee and manage it? What am I missing, Ralph?
  16. Below average? How about below ineptitude?
  17. Great start would be for Ralph Wilson doing the right thing and selling the team. It's gonna be sold one way or another. At least while alive he has a say so in who buys the team. Why continue to be a prick and continue bring in a loser FO and coaching staff?
  18. You were going along just fine. Then you had to ruin it by saying something stupid. The Bills got a 4th rounder for a wr that's caught two freakin passes. Nothing like making Buddy look smart.
  19. Dude. There is no Santa Claus, no savior. WTF is TO gonna bing to this team except a few ticket sales? You've got an HC that says "Football is a physical game for physical people". Yet, he fields a team of wusses. He runs a finesse offense and thinks that by playing 5 def. lineman, 2 ILBS and 4 DBs his defense is physical. Well, how's that worked out? 29th ranked in a 32 team league.
  20. 4 blow outs in a row and counting
  21. Ralph Wilson. He's not about winning. To him it's a husiness. And, at over 90 years of age, he doesn't have the passion to win. The team is being groomed for market when he eventually passes. That's why he does the bare minimum needed to field a 53 man roster and sell tickets. Why the old bastard refuses to sell now, especially when he can have some measure of influence as to he sells to, is a travesty to the fans.
  22. Move on to the next topic. Merriman is done, finished. Bring him back to do the radio play by play... anybody's better than Murphy.
  23. ILB is not an issue. There four are big problems and all four need to be addressed equally. Def. Coord., NT, and both OLBs. Edwards is gonna get fired. But that's bad cuz Wanny will take over at DC. He only knows the 4-3 and will want to switch back to the 4-3. THe Bills are a NT and 2 OLBs from being a real 3-4, but at least one DE and 4 olbs (inc. depth) from being a 4-3. Also, Wanny is a lot of siszle and no steak. He ain't done squat since his days in Dallas when Jimmy was really the defacto DC. Every where he's gone since then starts out good the first year and then goes into decline. He was a 40-56 bum in Chicago, and .575 winning pct. as Dolphins HC and Univ. of Pitt. So, he's definitely not the answer. Kyle Williams is not a nose tackle and cannot make it through a full NFL season if he's played there. The Bills only option is to play him at DE and give him maybe 10 plays at NT in passing situations. Batten is essentially a rookie with no LB experience. He was a DE in college and struggles in coverage. He gets a free pass because not only was he injured early in training camp and missed the season, he hasn't had the benefit of any offseason conditioning, coaching, or minicamps. Kelsay can play the run, but he couldn't even cover a tackle running a pass pattern, and he's marginal as an edge rusher as well. Johnson and Carrington cannot play OLB and Merriman is finished. Moats has not been able to make that next step forward. It's difficult to put the blame on him when he's got a DC that's clueless and no comittment to either the 3-4 or the 4-3... they just play this hybrid crap and flip back and forth play by play. WTF? The Bills secondary is OK as long as McGee is healthy. Brian Scott is the only player in the last year of a contract. So, the Bills better take OLBs, and NT with 4 of their first 5 picks... the other pick must be a premier LT.
  24. Like we don't know. We know damn well what this team is made of... SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE. Buddy talked a good game... and bragged about how he built the Chargers... the 3-4 defense so they could manhandle the Colts. What a crock. There ain't no such thing as taking 2 and three years to transition from a 3-4 to the 3-4. You suck it up, bite the bullet and do it right away and take your lumps. Gregg Williams took the 2nd rated Bills 3-4 defense and turned it into the 4-3 in one season. Albeit, a sucky one, but with the Bills bringing in a new coach the fans wer OK with it. And the fans let it ride for the first year with Gailey. If Buddy and Gailey would have had a plan and made the full switch last year, then this year you'd have been respectable and in year three able to make a quantum leap.
  25. Talk ain't gonna help these guys. They need players. And by the looks of things the Bills have gotten really stupid and going back to the 4-3... at least brinign in a 4-3 DE after losing an 3-4 ILB and a guard and filling the other slot with a safety... which makes me wonder if Bryan Scott will be logging time at OLB in a 4-3.
