I wore my Josh Allen jersey to the game. It's undefeated live 2-0, both 1 point victories engineered by a late 4th quarter drive by Josh (10/7 vs Tennessee 13-12 win was the other). I plan on wearing it this week to go to 3-0, but they better win by more than a point because I bet the Bills -2.5.

The NY Daily News Jet beat reporter was complaining how many Bills fans were at the game. He ain't seen nothin' yet-90% of the stadium will be Cowboys fans on October 13th (and the other 10% will have bags over their heads).

gamblers, get in now. World sleeping on Bills
Albany,n.y. replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got my bet in on the Bills at -2.5. I'm guessing the line goes up I'm comfortable in this bet since even if the game goes to OT, if the Bills win by anything other than a safety, I win. This might be the last good betting opportunity on the Bills for a while because I think the line moves too high for comfort against the Bengals if they win vs the Giants, and nobody should ever be betting the Bills vs the Patriots until Brady & Belichick are out of there. -
I regret that I didn't go to the casino Saturday night & bet what I wanted to: Bills on the money line & the under. When it was 16-0 I was feeling good for not betting the game in a game I thought was too close to call, but disappointed that I didn't bet the under. My plan all along was to save my $ for an easier game week 2 vs NYG, since the preseason lines had the Giants -1.5 (I don't think I could have bet that). When I saw Bills at less than a field goal vs the Giants (current line Bills -2.5) I rushed over to the casino, 22 miles from home & got the bet in on the Bills this morning.

Rich Gannon: not a great color guy
Albany,n.y. replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What was great was how the announcer forcefully said the name BELLAMY right after Gannon spoke. I was so pumped up after getting home from the game, I watched the game on the DVR from 11-1:30 AM just to see what the announcers were saying. When they got down 16-0 I was laughing and daring the Jets to score again since I knew the game ended 17-16. Comeback games are fun to watch again after coming home from the stadium. -
I totally agree. I think the Bills win next Sunday & I want to get a bet down before the line moves above 3 points. When I made my futures bets I figured something around 10 wins but I didn't go for the loftier bets of division, conference or Super Bowl. I have my bets structured in tiers. I break even at 8-8, win at 9-7 & double that if they make the playoffs.

I'm going to the casino today hoping by the time I get there they haven't moved the line yet. I just got up & need about another hour before I can get ready to leave the house. -
The early line before any games were played was Giants -1.5. I may go down to the casino to bet the game tomorrow before the lines moves a few more points for the Bills.

Bills 17, Jets 16!! Game Balls...
Albany,n.y. replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is why I'll always hate any type of QB rating system. 2 INTS-one goes through the receiver's hands & 1 is tipped & results in a fluke INT. Then Allen runs one in instead of passing for it. A TD produced is a TD produced. The QB's #1 job is to win the game. When Josh got the ball late in the game he drove the team down the field from deep in his own territory and took the lead with a TD . When Darnold had the ball deep in his own territory he couldn't get the job done. Stats be damned! Darnold 13.7 point QB rating win. Allen 1 point game win. I'll take a game win over a QB rating win EVERY TIME!!! -
Bills 17, Jets 16!! Game Balls...
Albany,n.y. replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the time left on the clock I screamed from my seats just kick it to the endzone or coffin corner & don't let the Jets touch the ball, I'm sure the coaches told him the same thing. He wasn't trying to pooch it, he was making sure the Jets couldn't run it back. -
It wasn't in the usual place on the NFL's website but I found it: https://operations.nfl.com/media/3823/2019-nfl-record-and-fact-book.pdf

According to the alleged leak of the Bills board before the draft, they had Allen on top, it even includes the proposed trade with Denver. It looks like they would have traded up for Darnold, or Mayfield, if Allen was gone before 5. Notice they weren't looking to trade up for Rosen, and that Jackson wasn't in their top 6. The order on the board is 1) Allen-Wyoming, 2) Darnold USC, 3) Mayfield-Oklahoma University, 4) Rosen-UCLA, 5) Rudolph-Oklahoma State, 6) Lauletta-Richmond If you click on the image, it will open up on Twitter, then click on the left side & you'll get a good look at the board.

OK - why the h#ll do we not have a new punter?!?
Albany,n.y. replied to Bockeye's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very simple answer: They are waiting a week so if they bring in a veteran they don't have to guarantee his salary. In the meantime, Bojorquez has one week to change their minds. I hope he never has to punt this week and no wisecracks that it will be because of turnovers.- 49 replies

Until the Milwaukee Braves moved to Atlanta in the 1960s Atlanta had a minor league team named the Atlanta Crackers. Even more interesting was there was an Atlanta team in the Negr0 Leagues called the Atlanta Black Crackers: https://sabr.org/research/atlanta-black-crackers Atlanta’s baseball history is dominated by names such as Hank Aaron, John Smoltz, Greg Maddux, Dale Murphy, and Chipper Jones. The Braves also dominated their division in the 1990s, but that is only a small part of Atlanta’s long and storied baseball history. Anyone can look up the history of the Braves and their players to learn more. A lesser-known part of the diamond tale goes back to the days when America was segregated. Atlanta had a significant black population who had to entertain themselves separately. In part due to the pervasive Jim Crow laws, black baseball in Atlanta flourished on the sandlots and local diamonds. Only one local team really made it to the big time, the Atlanta Black Crackers, who played in the city off and on from 1919 to 1949. The Black Crackers took their name from the white Atlanta Crackers squad, hoping to benefit from their popularity and name recognition. This part of the story of Atlanta’s baseball needs to be taken out of the shadows and added to the city’s story.

This further confirms how bad the OL was last year. 40% of the starting 5 are out of the league ( both centers & RT), and the players who started at LG-Vlad, out; Teller traded for 2 lower round picks.

The game in the video was the final straw for the Bills letting fans go on the field. They could take tearing down the goalposts but some "fans" took knives out & cut out parts of the turf (which was scheduled to be replaced in the offseason). For the 1st playoff game 2 weeks later there were patches of new turf where they had to replace the stolen pieces of turf. Whoever cut up the turf ruined it for all fans to ever get on the field again to celebrate. I've been to all 3 games above but only went on the field in 1980 and the only reason I even went on the field that day was the guy I went to the game with was a photo buff & he wanted to go on the field & take pictures of the mayhem.

Should Barkley be the holder on kicks?
Albany,n.y. replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's fine for a punter to be the holder when you know the punter (unless he's injured) is going to be there all year. When you're trying out new punters at the beginning of the week the season starts, you might not want to have the punter holding kicks. Last year the Bills had 3 different punters/holders & Haushka started to miss kicks he's made his whole career. I don't care who is holding, but I'd prefer 1 holder for the entire season & unless his game gets better, Bojorquez is going to be off the team by October at the latest. I still believe unless he has a great game he's gone by next Tuesday. Kidd was a fixture for years, it made perfect sense for him to hold & when Mohr had a lock on the punter's job he made a lot of sense too. In 1990 the Bills punting job was in flux. They started the season with John Nies & brought back Tuten, who they had cut after preseason, after the season's 1st two games and relegated Nies to kickoffs before cutting him after 4 games. That season it made more sense for someone other than the punter to hold, just like this season where Bojorquez is on a John Nies path.
