Josh Allen: Cross Country check up / check in
Albany,n.y. replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a guy in my town* that thinks Josh Allen will lead the Bills to multiple Super Bowl championships & end up in the Hall of Fame. * Call me a homer-the guy is me. -
Tyreek Hill Battery & Child abuse thread

That's why I can't stand Warren Moon & didn't like him getting elected to the HOF. PS: Be prepared to be sick again because Chapman is going to get another World Series ring. -
Five Teams Entering Their Super Bowl Window
Albany,n.y. replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Dolphins Super Bowl window is this season. As the host team ownership can look out the window of their box and watch The AFC & NFC Champs playing each other in the Super Bowl with the realization their own team is light years away from being competitive against either one. The author is sucking up to the Dolphins in hopes of getting a good view on Super Bowl Sunday. -

Isaiah Mckenzie working his tail off

Unless Brown, Foster or Roberts goes down with a pretty long term injury, he has virtually no chance of making the team. There's probably a place for him somewhere in the NFL, but not in Buffalo. Otherwise Beane wouldn't have signed 3 free agent WRs, 2 of them directly replacing what McKenzie did last year-speed receiver & return man. Ray-Ray is probably in the same boat, but of the 2 he's less likely to be claimed on waivers & can be put on the practice squad. -
Chris Brown doesn't know much about the NFL

1) I've never gone on the air unprepared & uninformed. I know better than to be on the radio. If I got paid for going on the air, I'd do my homework & not sound like a fool. 2) The poster boy for how to ruin a potential HOF career. He wasn't JAG, he had superstar potential but back in the late 60's early 70s sports medicine wasn't anywhere like today and he never reached his potential. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2012/1/27/2752262/cincinnati-bengals-university-cincinnati-bearcats-greg-cook-died "Greg was the single most talented player we’ve ever had with the Bengals," said Bengals president Mike Brown. "His career was tragically short due to the injury. Had he been able to stay healthy, I believe he would have been the player of his era in the NFL. https://thegruelingtruth.com/football/greg-cook-he-could-have-been-the-greatest-ever/ Bill Walsh called Cook “the most talented quarterback he had ever seen” -
Chris Brown doesn't know much about the NFL

NE was getting Welker one way or another. If the Dolphins didn't agree to the trade, then NE would have had Welker sign their offer. The Dolphins would not have been able to match, so they would have gotten a 2nd rounder anyway. By making the deal, NE was able to structure the contract more to their advantage than the original offer & it was worth the 7th to make the trade before Welker officially signed anything. Miami did not want to lose Welker, but NE gave them virtually no chance to keep him. https://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-xpm-2007-03-06-0703060554-story.html The Patriots were nearly as relentless in their pursuit of Welker, whom they acquired from the now Saban-less Dolphins Monday in exchange for second- and seventh-round picks in the April draft. Welker, a three-year veteran, was a restricted free agent the Dolphins had tendered at $1.3 million for 2007. But the Patriots, enamored of Welker's toughness and versatility, reportedly said they were prepared to give him a five-year, $37 million deal. Knowing that they were in no position to match that, the Dolphins accepted a seventh-round pick as a sweetener and traded Welker to the Patriots outright rather than deal with the uncertainty and seven-day waiting period that restricted free agents must undergo after signing an offer sheet. -

Chris Brown doesn't know much about the NFL

What I'm saying is, I expect someone who is on the radio to know more than the public. If he doesn't, get someone who does. That's not me, I'm not qualified to be on the radio, but neither is Chris Brown. I'm 65. -

That's the same thing that I said. The only reason they didn't use the offer was because they had Miami over a barrel & with the threat of the offer got the trade. As I said Because the contract wasn't signed the fact that NE had Miami over a barrel is somewhat obscured because Welker signed a new contract with NE after the trade, -
He's been with Tasker on the radio this week & I'm surprised by his lack of knowledge. Yesterday he talked about how Miami traded Wes Welker to NE & expressed astonishment that they would trade him in the division. What he obviously had no knowledge of is the fact Welker was a restricted free agent & had agreed to terms with NE on a contract with a poison pill that would make it impossible for Miami to match. Because the contract wasn't signed the fact that NE had Miami over a barrel is somewhat obscured because Welker signed a new contract with NE after the trade, but anyone who covers a team in the division should know this. Then today they were talking about players whose careers were cut short by injury. Brown didn't even know what position Greg Cook played. Greg Cook's story is well known by just about anyone who knows NFL history. Once again, maybe acceptable for casual or younger fans, but for a guy who covers the NFL for a living, pretty bad.

Schedule makers give Bills big advantages vs Jets

If head coaches are drug tested, he may be on suspension by opening day. -
This is why a team should go for best player available over a player who fits a system. Chances are pretty good that unless a player is drafted by one of the few franchises that have long term coaching stability, a good player will outlast his coaches. Of the 32 current coaches 20 have been in their position fewer than 5 years. When a 1st rounder signs, he signs a 4 year deal with a 5th year option. Considering how nearly 2/3 of the 1st rounders are projected to have a longer commitment to the team than the coach, drafting a player to fit a system is GM malpractice. The best, or worst, example was Ragland. He was drafted because he fit Rex Ryan's system, with the Bills trading up 8 spots & giving up 2 extra 4ths. He got hurt, never played a real down in Buffalo, Rex got fired & Ragland was a bad fit in the new coach's system. So after spending a 2nd & 2 #4s, all the Bills got back was a 4th, not even in the next draft, which further devalues the pick they got. They ended up using that pick as part of a 3 pick package to move up in the 3rd round & draft Knox. PS: This is why unless Arizona feels that Josh Rosen is a total bust, they had no business drafting Murray & dumping Rosen for pennies on the dollar.

There's a big difference. The former players who were in the conference championships were guys who either played out their rookie contracts and left as free agents (some for big $) or were traded for something valuable (like Watkins for a 2nd & Gaines). Meanwhile, all of the 2016 draft picks with the exception of Lawson were gone before opening day 1 season later with virtually nothing in return and most of the ones still in the league are being viewed as camp bodies with little chance of being on a 2019 NFL 53 man roster. 2016's draft had a lot of misses.

Why Whaley wasn't fired immediately after the 2016 season ended is beyond belief. He was already gagged and told never to speak to the media after his disaster of a final press conference.

QB Passer Rating Vs. Aggressiveness %
Albany,n.y. replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen is closest to Brady, Wilson & Rodgers. All 3 Super Bowl Champions. Around 13% looks like the sweet spot & Josh is already there. Advanced well beyond his years. -
My guess is the biggest Ravens fans are the ones who weren't born until after the Browns moved to Baltimore. The older fans grew up with the Colts and as any real fan knows, you don't just switch teams, even when you have to give up the old one in disgust as they leave & another team moves in to replace them. In the bay area, the Raiders are leaving after this season but their fans are not just going to start rooting for the 49ers just because they're the closest NFL team.
