  1. I was in college at the time (UB) and living in Rochester. That was about the coldest 2-3 week stretch I remember experiencing. Just day after day of mind-numbing temps with daytime highs in the single digits. About 6 of us went to the game. There was no thought of tailgating. We had those instant handwarmers for our gloves and boots, but those tapped out by halftime. Luckily, my friend had a flask, and another friend went to take a leak at halftime, found a $20 on the ground and brought back hot cocoa for all. But you could tell the Raiders wanted no part of that game in the 2nd half, once we started coming back from being 11 points down. The elements, our team, and the crowd were too much for them.
  2. I'm fine with the TE room as is. No need to add salary at this time for marginal return
  3. Hard to argue with the analysis. I think we're at least average at most of the key position groups and are drafting for depth and backfill. Which is a nice position to be in
  4. I'm getting that there is a non-zero chance that we will have a shortened regular season. But it seems highly unlikely - rather that they would just extend further into the spring if necessary. They're not giving up the cash cow of TV and stadium gate money.
  5. OP, you are spot on. I've been thinking about this for some time now. The more this lingers, the better off the Bills should look this fall. Few teams have the continuity and team drive that the Bills will have. Significant competitive advantage, especially early in the year
  6. The short answer is that if they're smart, they don't trade up. Frankly, this might be a year to trade down and stockpile picks for future years. How many rookies do we need to make this team? Likely - not many
  7. I think we're mostly aligned to the desire to upgrade the position, but for way too many reasons, Winston is not the guy to do that with
  8. RB is the last position that we should be investing FA resources on. Draft, Draft, Draft - stay young, cheap, and healthy at the position Lather, rinse & repeat
  9. Lots of luck with that... God I hope we're nowhere near that conversation
  10. I'm thrilled with where we are on the D-line. Lots of depth, experience, versatility. This should be an area of strength for next year
  11. what a waste of money for the Colts. That's how you stay in QB purgatory
  12. He's a nice player and would have been good to keep at a reasonable price. But not at $10M per for only 50% of the snaps. Can't keep everyone, and I'm OK with not overpaying to keep Shaq
  13. How stupid could Bill O'Brien possibly be?
  14. I like this move if the money is right. He's a beast when healthy and complements what Singletary brings to the table
  15. OK, I'll bite... Has never played a full 16 game season without injury Has averaged 4.0 yards/carry through his first 3 seasons (despite having several long runs to boost that average) Weighs 230 lbs Has had trouble getting along with coaches and management Doesn't come across as the most motivated or hard working athlete Will want a big second contract Again, I get that we want a big complementary back to Singletary. I just think we can do much better than this guy
  16. Hard pass. Why give up assets and cap $ for a RB whose best days are behind him already, when you can draft a guy with a similar round pick
  17. Unsure how this is related. Also trying to understand what urgency there would be to extend McDermott and/or Beane with 2 years left on their contracts
  18. I'm not missing any point there, fella. His "plays" more often than not were a result of other more talented players winning their battles. Let's not overpay for JAG. I don't think anyone is going to be saying "dang" about Jordan Phillips leaving, especially if he gets big $$$.
  19. Yes!!! Let's overpay for a guy who got released by the Dolphins, will likely not put up the stats again that he did this year, and will cost a fortune to hold onto at the same position we just drafted a guy in the first round... But but but, he's a "chearleader" and loves Buffalo. That'll come in handy later when we can't re-sign our really talented draft picks to second contracts!
  20. gosh, would never have seen this coming after the dude sat out a whole year...
