He left while under McDermott (2019) and went to the Raiders. Not a lot of winning there either. Seems like he would hard pass on the Bills.

If Coleman can't get separation and can't win with his body then he won't make catches even though he has decent hands. That's what I'm thinking. Not being in quite the right spot because he just can't get there.

Beane said he wanted someone who was good at what they did, not necessarily a speed guy, at least in his last press conference before the draft. Hopefully Keon can win some contested balls. If he can't it will be a failed pick. Hopefully it's not Duke 2.0.

I'm hoping Keon can give Josh a decent outlet. I thought last year Josh needed someone on the outside to throw the ball up to. Josh doesnt seem to take the dump offs because he doesnt mind running for it. So I think this helps Josh too, with Keons speed being an indirect factor since he'll never be screaming down the field. To me that also means we probably will be drafting a speed/kickoff return guy later today.

I see your point, but I could see Beane being aggressive in that particular scenario (no wr in the first) where he has certain guys he would like to get in the second round, similar to his normal trade up "had to get him" scenario. With dumping Diggs, I do think we need a guy at wr to help us win this year and I think that 2 might be used to get someone, either in the first or second round this year. If he does get a wr who can help this year in the first round, the pick next year doesn't provide the same value for us. Just my 2 cents.

I think if they don't get a receiver they like at 28, the Diggs 2025 pick gives them some capital to work with.

I guess I kind of think the opposite of this. The time for me to burn draft picks would have been while Josh was in his lower cap years. We kind of need the picks to hit now to manage the finances unfortunately. In the low cap hit years we are able to grab a Von Miller type player or two, now there is less overhead and more reliance on smaller vet contracts coming in. I am thinking he is going to try and leverage Josh's talent as much as possible and I thought it was an interesting point when he said he needs a selfless guy in this offense. Not sure if the top guys are that, but that's just because of my ignorance. I'm guessing they have identified a few guys who fit the mold they're looking for and I wouldn't be surprised if they're 2nd and lower round guys. The big swing, if taken, will be a deviation from Beane's normal mantra. Will be interesting to see if he is feeling a little pressure to dump some future resources into this year. I thought it was awesome when he positioned us to not give up any future picks when moving up for josh/Edmunds and I think it just underscores his natural aversion to giving the next years picks up. Always room for a tendency breaker though. Can't wait to see on Thursday.

You'd also have to consider the coaching staff dynamic as well. Here in Pittsburgh drafting changed when Cowher left and Tomlin came in.

I liken drafting to picking stocks. There are a lot of professionals out there doing it, but some are better than others. It just depends on what is valued by the evaluator and if those traits are the determining factors in success.

I think Diggs' real goal is KC, hence the conversion to a one year contract. I think beyond that the Texans just worked for him this year.

For me it will be interesting to see what Beane does this year with regards to moving up. We have moved into the Josh Allen cap years so I assume he will be less aggressive in the first day and probably the second. Not having the third this year does restrict him somewhat and while possible he could spend some 2025 capital this year instead but I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm hoping he will get 3-4 dump offs a game. He can be Josh's go to target instead of running. I'd rather have Knox pass blocking instead of a rb but we'll see what Brady cooks up this year.

Considering the value of a pass rusher I don't see that as an excuse. In fact, I'm assuming they weren't thinking long term with Boogie well before they traded him. I think you're right, Boogie precluded them from having room for a mid round guy. I'm talking someone like Jarvis was, a long shot, maybe even an international guy or a udfa. Just to try and make use of the environment to hit it big. As opposed to a jag wr or lb.

I want to win a super bowl next year. I understand the wr thought process, it's just a question of when and to what degree a wr can help. I want the help this year, don't care about the future while we have Josh, have to be worried about 2024.
