  1. Well, I don't look at it as McD, it's the entire coaching staff as well as Beane and company. So I think the things that have improved this year: Both coordinators - Babich has hit the ground running. I thought he would be blitzing more, but he is orchestrating and bend but don't break defense pretty well. I am hoping that if our base defense gets gashed like it did against the ravens he will have a wrinkle, but other than that I think he's done a fine job. Brady has done a nice job blending the running and passing. Most of the time the offense has a decent rhythm (other than maybe early in some games) and we have been able to score when needed. The former ref making the calls on whether to challenge or not has been a good add. Seems like we are at least challenging things that make sense. Beane went out and got Cooper. It hasn't paid dividends yet but I'm hoping he will be a big part of the playoff offense, it seems like he's still nursing that wrist. For me, it's really the dynamic of how the coaches interact with each other and then how they interact with the front office. I think Babich/Brady and MCDermott are in lock step where in the past I don't think that's quite been the case. Daboll was pretty well documented and I have to think Frazier was a little soft for McD because of the way McD blitzed when he got ahold of the d last year. There doesn't seem to be much head shaking by McD in the press conferences after the game this year. I know everyone likes to pin everything on McD, but there is a level of autonomy that the coordinators get to do their own thing - they have the day to day leading of their group to do. I think the 2024 group of coaches has gotten a lot out of these players. I'm pretty excited about us getting a little healthier as we move toward the playoffs and think we have a good shot of getting to the super bowl. My only bbfs downer is around Bass. And it's a pretty big ledge considering our history.
  2. With the 32nd pick in the 2025 draft, the Buffalo Bills select....
  3. They could expand the practice squad some. Negotiations will be interesting at the next CBA. Like for international games, as a player do you require a bye afterward? Are there other requirements the players should have around some of this scheduling? Plus the discipline process, grass vs turf vs crappy grass or turf, I'm sure there's a bunch of other things to work out.
  4. The champions of the AFC East are rising!
  5. I'd like to see them take either hamlin or rapp off the field and put D Williams on. Play single high with three linebackers and see if they can get the job done. If they can't, take Williams off and put another DL in.
  6. Kurt Warner? I thought he was a little thicker than Cook
  7. Seemed like they were looking at his right calf, that sock was down when he was going up the ramp
  8. 10 in the box leaves you susceptible if the rb breaks through. Groundbreaking thoughts by CC.
  9. Looks like we have three snow backs
  10. I think we need a lot of Ty tonight
  11. Nice middle finger by Spencer there, haha
  12. Just trying to get it to catch an edge and randomly move
  13. Yes, but that would have been called (Davis releasing instead of blocking) in the huddle or at the line. The way the play was run it couldn't happen, Josh couldn't find the back. The only way Josh was going to get him the ball was to bail on the pocket and find Davis if he flared out with him.
  14. That's a tough ask. Josh would have had to been committed to Davis well before throwing the ball and there was no guarantee Davis was going to free up the way he did. He could have gotten tangled up with the rusher and not been available. Josh had to get rid of the ball quickly and couldn't wait, he had to assume Davis was blocking.
  15. That's interesting, I didn't see the presser. For me it kind of deflects from the issue though. I saw a lot of this type of pick in the past, Gabe was really good at being the target. I haven't seen it much this year (not that it hasn't happen) but I don't think it's a coincidence that this type of miscommunication happened. Knox has been around long enough to understand and be on the same page with Josh. So while the ball should have gone elsewhere, it still leaves the fact that Knox saw one thing and Josh the other. I normally don't absolve Josh of blame, he still throws some balls that shouldn't be thrown, but to me there's some smoke here. I was hoping they would have given Davidson some more opportunities, he seems to be a good hands catcher of the ball and looks to have decent athletic ability. For me it's important to be on the same page as Josh, a lot of these routes are sight adjustments. I responded to Gunner too, but I agree it seems poor that after the amount of time he's been in the system that he has trouble seeing the same thing Josh does.
  16. Yes, Josh thought he should have kept going and Knox stopped.
  17. Wasn't he the one who stopped on the interception yesterday?
  18. The whole stadium holds their breath when we have to kick the ball.
  19. Sometimes you just ace the interview.
  20. Well, Rapp isn't crushing his own teammates as often, that's for sure. No doubt he's been better, I'm just not a huge fan. When we drafted Bishop I thought ok, there's the Hyde replacement not the box safety. It seems like that is not the general consensus on TBD based on his college work and I'm a little disappointed if that's all Bishop can be. We have been talking about having playmakers to win big games, and the athletic ability in the 2nd round would hopefully translate to more range and interceptions from that deeper Hamlin/Hyde safety position. In my mind Bishop was making plays on the ball like Hyde did but having greater range. Even though McDermott can take a lesser athlete and make them good, I was hoping a 2nd round athlete could be a guy that makes game changing plays, making a strength even stronger and helping us get over the hump. I'm not so convinced the Rapp/Poyer position can be a game changer, it seems like more of a complementary role even with Bishop in there. I'll wait and see with Bishop, they have a plan for him and I'm sure they're pretty anxious to get him on the field when he's ready.
  21. In my opinion, the fact that Bishop hasn't been getting snaps indicates his pre-snap processing is not where it needs to be yet. Getting that correct on the practice field is a precursor to getting more time in the games, and really, you don't need the games to work on that. Once he can correctly identify his responsibilities then he can get on the field more to take his game to the next level.
  22. Mara: Who thought we should give Daniel Jones a chance? BD: I did? (Wry smile)
  23. They need wr's that Russ can see
  24. It looks like Martin is going to stick with the red glove.
