In some of these blowout wins I'd like to see the backup kicker take a swing at an extra point. It's one thing to be able to do it in practice, but if you're not near 90% from 40 and in as a backup I have to think the numbers swing even more to just going for it on 4th down.

Our first 4 picks last year were Rousseau, Basham, Brown and Doyle. How are there not 2 OL in those picks? That is how it's reading to me. It does not read our first two picks or 2 of the first three. Most folks forget we drafted an IOL last year because it was so late and he isn't here any more. My point is it seems like the front office is trying to backfill our lines. Sometimes it takes time for these guys to get on the field. And they still need more linemen, but the fact is they took two in the first four picks last year.

Well, they pulled teller out of the late rounds and brown seems good. Anderson was good enough to get picked off our ps. Cody Ford was a second rounder. He didn't work out, they don't all. And yes, starting caliber IOL seem to be plentiful in the later rounds. Are you saying we need OT's too? Given our timeline with a rookie qb, seems like veteran oline to start makes sense, don't you think? To my untrained eye, Beane structured the veteran contracts to be able to get out of them and they seem to end when a lot of the big contract numbers from our core players kick in.

No, for the reason I stated. If he was done he would have either not been picked up or LAC would have dropped him already. Sometimes the team you're on matters. There are a lot of folks who have resurgent years on different teams.

I think realistically Bobby Johnson has a chance to go. I wouldn't mind seeing a more veteran coach come in who could also help coordinate the run game. We are in a position of strength because we are a contender, better available coaches will want to come here if given the choice.
