I agree they need to get a game changing TE. Austin Seferian Jenkins could be the next guy but not sure if he fits what Marrone is looking for. Ebron, Grimble and Amaro are interesting too. Guys like Fiedorowicz, A.Lynch and M.Jensen are guys who could be solid too in the later rounds. Maybe they could take a shot on a guy like Colt Lyerla as an UDFA. Should be interesting as they go through the draft process.

A run stuffer is needed in the draft. Hageman might be a good pick if Carrington leaves.
-
He should be a very good nickel corner going forward for the Bills. If they had him last year, they might have had a chance against Welker.
-
He's started 9 games, give the kid a chance. His potential is unlimited...big, strong, athletic, smart and willing to work to become the best. After 20 starts then make some judgements. He looked bad Sunday because his offensive line couldn't block the TB D-line, even when they were playing 2 deep. That's pretty tough on any QB.

Digging Deep - why do you remain a fan of this franchise?
sjjr replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We deserve a better team and it will happen. I still believe they are on the right track long term but changing a franchise this bad for this long takes time. -
It was bad...but let's give EJ his mandatory 20 starts after being the 1st Rd pick and future franchise QB. He just played a guy who gets rookies almost every time and he's been out for a month. What was disappointing was that they couldn't run the ball or stop the run against a team that could do neither before today. It was the 1st uninspired effort they've had this season.

Smith won't turn the ball over and is very good on 3rd down. To me this is the key to the game. If Thad/Tuel/Flynn can take care of the ball, the big D-Line of KC should wear down throughout the game with the tempo and late there should be room to run. The defense has to get stops on 3rd downs. The Bills will play hard, we know that. If they do these things, they can win a close one late 23-20.

Marquise Goodwin vs T.J. Graham - Fan Poll
sjjr replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right now Graham is a little more complete but in the future they will be equally important to the offense. Having deep speed is key to allowing the Bills to do what they really want to, run it. -
Week 8 AFCE matchups - pick'em and why
sjjr replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NE wins a close, defensive game. Bengals should win. They should pressure Geno and force some key turnovers to pull away. Bills should match up well. Should be a close game and the Bills should have some good moments but have to think Brees will pull it out late. -
Is Stephon Gilmore an above average CB???
sjjr replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's see what he's got when the cast is off. He's a physical corner that can't be physical with the cast now. I think he'll end up being the #1CB for the Bills for a long time yet. Not to mention, Hartline is a pretty good receiver. -
Official Prediction Thread: BALvsBUF
sjjr replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's the NFL and anything can happen but this is a bad matchup for the Bills when healthy. They will test EJ with the blitz all day and throw deep on the battered secondary. I think the Bills will find a way to keep it close most of the day but lose 31-17. -
Still think he could be the best in the league at LG...if they moved him there.

Lets turn our attention to Baltimore
sjjr replied to dascottbills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The offensive and defensive lines need to step up and play much better if the Bills are going to have any chance.....and if Justin Rogers lines up across from Torrey Smith, I'm turning it off. -
Wow...let's give the 1st Rd pick 20 starts+ before we think about any of this....and CJ will be fine if the line can get a push (Jets and Pats dominated our O-Line).
-
got dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball...EJ never had time to throw and Geno had all day look down field...J.Rogers cannot be in the game, he is just a liability...really flat performance
-
Should be a good matchup.....need to stop the run and force Geno Smith to make plays on 3rd down, get 2+ turnovers....on offense be conservative by running and mixing in some play action and don't make the bad plays.....Marrone had a lot of success against Geno in college.
-
Lawson has been great, Wood too....What a UDFA pickup Roby was. McKelvin is playing really well too. When Gilmore and Brooks are back healthy, the Bills look set at CB for a while. Also like the way A.Williams is hitting.

Aggressive penalties are ok.....somebody from the Bills upper management needs to talk to the league about these calls/non calls. The Patriots clearly held the pass rush in key situations that went uncalled last week. Plus a couple of phantom calls were made on Bills 1st Downs. This week, several late hits uncalled in the 1st half on the Panthers and then that awful call on Summers that gave them a 1st down and eventual TD. Hope things start evening out.

Dareus' chance for revenge on Carolina this Sunday
sjjr replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought Dareus looked good Sunday. He was active and made plays when he had the chance. This season is big for his career. -
Keys To Victory : Bills vs. Panthers
sjjr replied to DefenseWinzChampionshipz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Need to contain the run and not turn the ball over. The Panthers have maybe the best LB in football in Kuechly. -
The Patriots clearly held most of the game. There were several calls against the Bills that were very questionable that took key 3rd down conversions away and gave key first downs to the Patriots. It happens every year with the Patriots.
-
3rd down conversions for both teams

Screw other FA's, we should target Chris Gamble
sjjr replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would be a great pick up if they can get him to take a short term deal. He's 30... -
He has as much upside as any QB in this draft. He'll need to get in the right place with the right situation and develop into a starting NFL QB because he isn't one now. That's really the situation probably for all but two QBs in this draft. If he had played better against Florida then he might be the top QB in the draft for most people. Not sure he fits the Bills though.

What Free Agents Would You Look At?
sjjr replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Devito on the DL....Kruger....a CB who can play right away on the opposite side of Gilmore.
