  1. Should match up pretty well. Could be an opportunity for the running game to get back on track and then get some play action for big plays down the field. Really like Bridgewater but tough matchup for them right now. Go Bills
  2. I thought Sammy gave Revis more work than AJ Green did. The problem was that Orton and the Bills coaches didn't believe he could win. Its hard to criticize play callers when you're not there but if I had the whole week to prepare, I would have had 3-4 set plays to get Sammy the ball in the 1st series to at least make the Pats think about it and keep that safety honest. The Bills just made it a lot harder by playing with half the field and tight coverage. To me the trade only made sense if they believe EJ was ready to lead this team now. They clearly don't have that figured out....but it isn't Sammy's fault. He's a legit #1WR for years to come.
  3. The officiating has been awful in just about every Bills game this season and for years against the Patriots. When will it change? This team is better passing with Orton but the running game has suffered. With EJ at least giving the threat of running, it just allows the Spiller and Fred more space. This is a running team that needs better guard play but is also getting away from what it is offensively. I know I'm in the minority here but still feel EJ gives the Bills the best chance to win...
  4. He's a very good special teamer and matches very well with A.Williams. They never should have asked him to run with Gronkowski.
  5. The passing game is better with Orton right now. The running game is not as good and the read option might have been good today to slow down that pass rush. The Bills are a passing team with Orton....
  6. It would be a huge win that sets up the Bills to be in control of the AFC East with a potentially softer schedule over the next several weeks. At this point, he needs to win to validate the decision and what he currently makes. Only way he would get a new contract would be if they get to the playoffs and deemed the starter going forward at the end of the season.
  7. Let's see how he does this weekend....
  8. Can Hairston play RG and have Pears be the TE in power formations the way Hairston has? Can't get much worse than Pears....This weeks its key the Bills are able to run on the interior because the Pats DBs are much better than the Lions.
  9. For years its been bad, especially against the Pats but it seems worse this season. It looks like the Bills D-Line gets held a lot and there are just so many key penalties that go against the Bills that give first downs to opponents or take away big plays for the Bills. I can think of several in just the last 3 games. It's Bad...
  10. The next few games will either validate the Orton decision or make it look pretty bad. We'll see... Go Bills
  11. The more I watch Everett Golson from ND, the more I like him. He's mobile, has a strong arm, has great instincts and plays his best football with the game on the line. He's lost 1 game as a starter in his career so far. The knock is his size.....sounds like Russell Wilson anyway. Really still hoping EJ can put it together though... Go Bills!
  12. there are a lot of leaking media reports coming out on a Sunday morning...hmmm Most scouting services said he had huge upside but had to be developed. Most of them said he was a 2nd round pick because he would struggle early in his career if pushed on the field. I think the kid has played better than expected overall and has made strides overall. We'll find out today just how much he was "holding this team back". Go Bills
  13. I support them both as much as ever. EJ needs more time and experience before passing judgement on his future. As we've known all along, if he can put all of the tools together he can be a great player. He needs development and this takes time. Hackett also is developing. Like his dad's offense and most offenses for that matter, he is looking to be able to run the ball with 6-7 guys in the box and use play action. Once that safety comes up, beat em deep. Offenses don't need to be rocket science. We have to remember the Bills offense is very young. They need time to develop. While developing, they are going to have good and bad games. That's what we're seeing.... Go Bills
  14. They should be looking at locking up Henderson long term to pair with Glenn. That could give the Bills great bookends for years. Kouiandijo will come...he needs development.
  15. Keep in mind, the Pats usually lose a couple games early in the season and then Belichek figures out what his team can do exactly and makes adjustments. They usually get hot in October and pull away. Looking at this schedule, they could get hot but the Bills can stay with them. The head to head at home obviously is huge.
  16. The Draft was on May 8 and they traded up to get a guy to help EJ....gave up the 1st and 4th round picks in this upcoming draft to do so. If they were concerned on May 1 about EJ's future as the franchise QB, they shouldn't have done that and addressed the situation in the draft or via trade.
  17. He was released on July 15....that was months after offseason workouts and draft. Successful organizations figure out their options at the most important position on the field by May 1.
  18. Orton is more similar to Nassib when Hackett and Marrone were at Syracuse. Probably will be a similar offense but less read option and more complex passing plays/reads. EJ is more similar to the guy they recruited and starts now (Terrell Hunt). Have to think Sammy, Woods and M.Williams will see a lot more targets. The O-Line better block Suh and Ansah because Orton can't move in there like EJ. Have to expect more total yards but also more sacks and turnovers.

  20. They better or everybody should get fired for this mess.
  21. EJ had his most disappointing game as a pro and likely was most responsible for the loss against the Texans. He looked rattled and his accuracy was as bad as its ever been. With that said, this move was total panic in a situation that has resulted from total mismanagement that we've seen before too many times as Bills Fans! The entire organization watched Tuel, Lewis and EJ work the entire offseason and made no effort to bring anyone in. The trade up to get Sammy to "Help EJ." Then after a few preseason games and some heat being applied by the fanbase and media, they bring in a mercenary QB in Orton and decided not to make EJ a captain. Wait a minute....didn't we see this in Jauron's last year when he all of the sudden decided before the first game that his offensive line was no good and made changes at just about every position? Point is...same mismanagement by the Bills, different year. The characters change but not the bad moves. I've been a Bills fan my whole life, but this move just makes me sick. I'll support Orton on Sunday but we all have seen this kind of QB not too long ago...Fitz. What happens when he stinks it up and throws three picks? What happens if the Bills finish 7-9? The Bills have got to just win football games and stop worrying so much about what is being said by the media and fans between games. For EJ...he should keep his head up. He's a fine young man with a bright future in whatever he does. He played not to lose is all. It's not about if you get knocked down, its about how you get up. He needs to get a large chip on his shoulder and when he gets his chance again, go out and take his place and success in the NFL. Go Bills! and EJ!
  22. Just like every QB, the league has scouted him now and have figured out he struggles against the blitz. He doesn't like getting hit a lot which is why Watt got two early penalties for hitting him at the knees. That was the plan for Houston, to rattle him. It worked... He's going to see the blitz until he shows he can beat it. Screens, draws and quick slants will hold it off but not beat it. The best way is to beat it deep down the sidelines with go routes or back shoulder throws. Neither of these throws he has shown to be accurate. I'd say they better spend the week practicing these because the Lions can bring it. He had his most disappointing game of his career today. He missed chances to put the game away in the 2nd qtr, made a costly mistake on Watt pick 6 and his accuracy issues caused the offense to be totally ineffective for the entire second half. Let's hope the Bills rally around him this week and come out next week to get a surprising win. Go Bills!
  23. Yeah Pears is not good enough to start at this point. Urbick can't be any worse....if C.Williams comes back next week, could slide C.Richardson to RG. Pears can't deal with quickness and that has been the case since the preseason.
  24. That was a critical play and clearly illegal contact if not interference. This team fights despite this kind of stuff and that is a credit to Marrone. With that said, EJ missed critical throws all day, especially in the 1st half when the Bills had a chance to put the game away.
