  1. Rich Stadium Aug. 1974 concert. Lynyrd Skynyrd / James Gang / E L P We sat right in the middle of the quadraphonic speaker system. Guys sitting in front of us were hitting the adult beverages pretty hard during L S. One of them passed out and looked to be in bad shape and his buddies ignored him. SO my buddy and I decided to carry him to the First Aid station, with me carrying his shoulders and Gary on the feet. The crowd would not move to allow us passage, so Gary called out loudly "I dont know when, but this guy is gonna puke." And lo and behold there was a parting like the Red Sea. We got him to First Aid and returned to enjoy one of the greatest concerts I have ever attended.
  2. I graduated from Lew Port in 1971. (So did Mrs. Lew) Had the 50 year old reunion this past summer. I wondered who the heck were all the old people and what had they done with our friends

  6. My daughter and SIL hiked the entire trail as through hikers. You are correct about the bond amongst the hikers and the sense of 'community' can not be measured. They meet approx. 200 peeps on the trail and there was only one that was ornery. (Musta been a Pats fan). Congrats to your nephew.
  7. On Wednesday, my youngest daughter gave birth to her first child and newest Bills fan. Baby girl. I offered the name Jill, but that was voted down. Mom, dad and baby are home and doing well, except for that sleep deprivation thing that comes with a new born. This is my daughter and SIL that hiked the Appalachian Trail several years ago. I guess they are on a new trail now.
  8. November 29, 1998: Just Give it to Them this game still makes my blood boil. Refs heard to say "Just give it to them" on a pass near the sideline. Then a phantom PI call give the Pats the ball on the one and they score. 25-21.
  9. My favorite "White Out" game was at WVU for QB Pat White in his final game at Mountaineer field in 2008. Pat had a great college career, but his pro career was mediocre at best.
  10. Alas, the programmers at ESPN would rather have Notre Dame play than Cincy, since ratings would be very high.

  19. Classless is a HS team winning 104-0 and going for a two point conversion. Inglewood HS in CA. For the Bills to score and go for two is the right thing to do in the NFL. Had the shoe been on the other foot, Miami would have gone for two also.
