  1. Good news as my replacement knee is ONE years old today. 🎂
  2. Same here. 50 year wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. Never read , posted or had an account on Facebook. Never bounced a check.
  3. 1812 Overture on July 4 with cannons and fireworks is a treat And yes, ELP counts as classical
  4. Fun time hobbies. The Bills, of course. Watching the grandkids. Watching YouTube videos, esp since retiring in 2020. Going on cruises, where we meet LOTS of Bill's fans. Golf. Collecting $100 bills. (Very small collection, see #4)
  5. I had mine done in fall 2023. I am now the official sighter when I play golf with my geezer buddies who have not yet had the surgery. I opted for the long vision, so reading glasses are used for reading the paper. I was out of pocket about $200 and Medicare paid the rest.
  6. My view of Ozzy is as the front man for Black Sabbath, while my millennial son in law views him as the solo performer. Either way Ozzy was a great performer.
  7. I remember filling up my '69 VW Beetle for $3.
  8. Cataract surgery is amazing. I had mine 2 years ago and it has been great. Night driving is 1000% better and seeing the golf ball is wonderful. I get to be the "sighter" in our golf group as some of the guys have not yet had their cataract surgery. I have a 50 year college Homecoming event this fall and am looking forward to that.
  9. I was dragged to see The Devil Wears Prada by wife and MIL. 2 hours later I was glad I went as I really enjoyed the movie. and Mrs. Lew bought the popcorn.
  10. This is great. Thanks for posting
  11. RIP Sly His segment in the Woodstock movie was a highlight of the movie for me.
  12. Annie Haslam of Renaissance. Killer voice. Longevity. Gorgeous
  13. I am in this club also. I was 9 when I first attended a game at The Rockpile and was amazed at how big the place was. Many of my WV buddies are Bills fans due to Darryl Talley.
  14. How can anyone from WNY forget this ?
  15. I have an EGO 21" mower with self propelled system. Much needed on the sloping lawn here in WV. On many occasions the mower will stop for an over heating issue with the battery and I have to remove, then re-insert the battery. The battery mowers are light and that is a plus. As is the lack of noise. The battery life and the high price of a replacement battery are big minuses in my opinion But if your lawn is small and flat, I'd go with the reel style mower.
  16. Like bigvinny said. When is the Bills game at Charlotte.
  17. Baseball. Great glove, terrible arm, poor hitter. I could catch anything but throwing to first base was a mystery. Snow skiing. Nope, just never could do that.
  18. The most popular game in HS. We played all the time, using a 2 and 3 for scoring. Alas, euchre was unheard of in Ohio where I went to college. And amongst my working cohorts, spades and hearts were the games. Now are there any cribbage enthusiasts out there ?
  19. Sidd Finch and his amazing fastball. What an arm !
  20. I was chief chemist in the lab at the plant. The plant manager asked if I could work from home. Sure, move the Xray analyzer and the ICP and the hot plates and fume hood and the various chemicals and install a 440V power line and we are good to go. My house is also one hour's drive from the plant. He was new and after I thoroughly explained what I did he never asked again. Mrs. Lew and I retired in June of 2020 as we had planned for a long time. WV was the last state to get covid, but the shutdowns of government and businesses were quick.
  21. Sure. Mrs. Lew and I co-habituated for two whole months before marriage.
  22. Went to two Summerfest concerts in 1974. First one was Eric Clapton, who was drunk out of his mind and performance was shaky Second one was ELP , James Gang and Lynryd Skynryd (sp?) ELP was great. We sat on the field in the middle of the quadrophonic sound system. Some peeps in front of us imbibed in several substances and one guy was gonna get sick. My buddy and I carried him to the First Aid area. The people did not want to move so my buddy said "I think this guy is gonna puke." And it was like the parting of the Red Sea. Favorite game event was when Jim Kelly's number was retired. At first it was thought Ralph was just gonna honor him in some fashion. When the big flag / banner with #12 on it came down the stadium, people were cheering like crazy. Taking my son in law to a game and him cooking on Kenny's Pinto was memorable. Going to TBD tail-gaiting at Hammer's Lot was always a treat.
  23. This August me and Mrs. Lew will celebrate our 50th anniversary. We were and still are HS sweethearts. LP class of '71 Going on a cruise.
  24. On the flip side of the thread about who has never been married it would be interesting to see who has been married the longest. There are some long time Bills fans here , so I guess there should be some long time marriages.
