  1. D has to button up the run D as it has been exposed since the second half of the GB game. I think its more a problem with not adjusting the scheme and who is on the field at the right times. But be that as it may, holding an opponent to under 20 points should technically be more than adequate against a O led team like the Bills. If the O was able to sustain drives and end in scores, the opposing team is much more limited in its grind and pound options (basic complementary football). This loss is clearly on Allen (esp the two brutal interceptions) and the O in general. His multiple INT games are bothering me. He should do a whole lot better in protecting the ball.
  2. Given the issues we are seeing with the receiving corps, I now believe we need to roll the dice and sign OBJ now. Get him in, studying the offense till he is ready for game time. Then, hopefully get him playing time in December to be ready for the playoffs. I don't care if we "overpay" him. He would be a bet which could pay off when teams scheme against us like the Jets did
  3. It would only be depressing if there was even an iota of truth in it
  4. Given the talent they have already added, and Tua looking more than just serviceable, that is not a bad slate for next two drafts. With no #1 next year, they have to ride with Tua and hope that he stays healthy. But clearly, they are not going to be walkovers for this season and next.
  5. That is an incredibly moronic tweet. How can someone think this way when it concerns injuries to players of opposing teams?
  6. he is also being used a tad more as a pass catcher. Singletary is adequate for the Bills offense but I like that Hines brings the dual catch/run threat to complement him
  7. i typed before Hurts came back in. Good night, guys
  8. why not go for 2?
  9. likely game over
  10. way too much blitzing even though its not working
  11. As my predictions for blowouts vs close games have been largely the reverse of reality, I say Bills squeak by with a 23-19 win
  12. So the choice for Singletary is - look for a big second contract, play it out and retire in 3-4 years (typical career span of a RB) Or stay with the Bills for a lower average $/year and extend career due to lower tread on tires per year At the end of his career, he sees the same wear on his body but the same $ in pocket, its all good. Plus he is much more likely to retire with rings while playing for the Bills as opposed to playing for the middling teams who have money to spend but not the overall talent to win the big one.
  13. I wonder if he was just bored after the first half and made careless mistakes. Of course it's not an excuse but he looked visibly sharper in the first half. 🙃
  14. Have some more wine before throwing and the you will see the perfect spiral
  15. Looks like the Rodgers drama queen act is rubbing off on you. You and Zerovoltz (Chiefs) are respectful fans who are welcome here. Get over yourself and keep coming back. Full disclosure - Packers were my second favorite team till Rodgers became a nut case.
  16. The dream Super Bowl of the two small market teams wont happen for several years now. Till before last season's playoffs (when Rodgers was still good), I was salivating at the thought of a Allen-Rodgers Superbowl. My other wish was for the Bills to blowout a Brady led team in the Superbowl. Oh well.
  17. clearly he is missing his favorite tight end
  18. Does the seconds hand go from 12 directly to 14 seconds?
  19. We were like you once. The Packers' first step is to kick the cry baby out and start afresh. It will be painful for a few years but hope they dont go the Colts route of looking at washed up QBs to kick the can down the road While it will be far better than a 1 point loss, a win of lower than 10 pt margin will be a disappointment
  20. I cant compare because I havent lived in WNY for a long time but can talk about the vibe during late 80s/early 90s I came to this country in 1989 to UB and thought that the only sports that matter are cricket, tennis and soccer. But everywhere I went - university labs, classes, stores etc was full of Bills paraphernalia and people being (mostly) super happy on Mondays. Other immigrants who had been there would sit in front of the TVs (found on the sidewalk on garbage day) glued for 3 hours. So, having nothing else to do on Sundays, I started watching and got washed up in the excitement. Started rooting for the Bills but the deciding point of my permanent fandom was the Oilers game which was blacked out and I listened to on the radio. I have been consumed by the Bills every since. But the environment at that time around the city and Niagara Falls was decidedly rabid, looked like people had little else to discuss, enjoy and cheer for which was kinda true. It was tough to be insulated from that excitement in any part of life in Buffalo.
  21. Sure we want that first ring, but 15 years from now would you feel satisfied if Allen retired with just one ring? A player of his immense talent?
  22. Many (including me) are dismissing him after watching him play this season. He looks like the heavy contract he got in the offseason is weighing him down and he doesnt have a supporting cast (as Ta111 said). Their D will keep it competitive in the first half but eventually will wear down. OTOH, if the Bills score couple of TDs early in the game, it will get very ugly for the Packers. That cant be right given we have 3 games with the powerhouses of the Jets and Dolphins. (I cant wait for the Bills to knock the teeth out of the Jets and shut up the NYC media)
  23. No explanation needed. I casually joined this forum in the late 90s and couldn't think of anything better. Little did I know how much this board would be part of my life for 20+ years! Good thread, @AlfaBill
  24. You are thinking of the great Tim Anderson, aren't you?
