I’m sure they have a plan on replacing these guys. Can’t imagine them jettisoning two starting tackles without a plan. I don’t expect them to miss the playoffs next season because of these moves. Now, if they are planning on replacing with internal candidates...then that would be a problem. Super bowl showed depth problems at o-line for them.

Bills ticket prices going up...
davefan66 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hate seeing my ticket prices go up. Understand that is the price of a winning team and them attempting to capture revenue from a full stadium. Overall, dang cheap by NFL standards. -
Remember why the cap was created in the first place. Parity. Rich teams like Dallas would throw the most money at the top FA's. Doesn't mean championships, look at Washington over the years.

I get Buffalo doesn't have an average temp of 80 and sunny 90 percent of the time. We are an amazing city. A huge snow storm in freaking 1977 and a short period of economic downturn does not define a city. Problem is players can say they want a championship all they want. It comes down to money. Not sure i can truly blame them. Think about what Dak just signed. 40 million per year, which equates to 2.35 million per game in a 17 game season (assuming they go to that). Money talks, championships take a walk.

Good for Dak to extort that contract from Jeruh. It is a completely irresponsible contract as it relates to the rest of the league. The floor for average QB's is now 30 million a year, good QB's 40 per year and god knows what a TB or Montana could get if they were in their prime now. Josh must be dancing right now! Can't hate the player for getting what they get... I get that QB is important. Love watching Josh do his thing. But to pay a single guy 1/5th of your salary cap? WTF. 126 MILLION guaranteed?? Talk about paralyzing your team. BTW Jeruh. Dak isn't taking you anywhere.

Future Buffalo Bill Kyle Rudolph
davefan66 replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe Knox can be a #1 TE. Has some work to do on catching the ball, that is correct. Maddening when he drops a simple crossing pattern for a first down, yet makes the tough catch. Believe that’s a mental issue with follow through on the catch before running. That can be worked on. I just don’t see dumping a ton of money into TE if we are against the cap. Depends on what the team can do to create cap space. Just don’t want to see restructuring that will just move the pain to future seasons. Feel we need LB and D-line addressed first, and RB next (makes more sense to draft vs costlier FA). Would like to see CB addressed, unless they believe that guy is on the team. Thing is, improve the pass rush/run stopping, and that improves LB and DB play. I guess it really boils down to wether they believe they’ve built a sustainable team, or it’s a “win now” mindset. -
Future Buffalo Bill Kyle Rudolph
davefan66 replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not interested. Believe Knox is the answer. We also have Sweeney who looked decent. Have no interest in slowing the progress of Knox by brining in Rudolph. Would almost be saying Knox is not the answer at TE. -
Any team can win in any given year. Cardinals do have a good D and an up and coming QB. Just don’t think they are that close to being a contender. Like others said, it was about the $$$. Glad we didn’t pay that for him. I’d rather have a couple of 2nd tier players filling needs than one player at his age. Think RB and LB. The Bills don’t have any glaring holes. Solid players at most of our positions. Don’t need a big singing like this one.

I have DTV because of the ticket. Would consider “cutting the cord” if they lose it. Only other cable option is Spectrum and there’s no way I would get my tv package through them. What would be great is if they just offered the Redzone channel. That’s all I watch, never any of the games. Hopefully if ATT divests itself fully of DTV, the customer service will get back to what it used to be.

I believe Fitz would come back. As long as he’s exhausted all avenues for a starting position. As far as Barkley, the coaching staff knows the chemistry in the QB room. Do they value it enough to keep it going? I still think Josh needs a vet presence. Is it his friend or can it be anyone? Honestly, don’t think Barkley will get any nibbles, would come back on a cap friendly deal.

Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
davefan66 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With he current cap situation, feel they scruff at the current position, or move back. goong to need as many less expensive players as they can, and don’t want to have to deal with a JA or Tre type contract in 4 years. Pretty sure Beane can’t get rookies who can contribute through the draft. -
Re-sign or “wave good-bye” series: Player 8 - TJ Yeldon
davefan66 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on his lack of playing, and that he was a 2 million dollar cap hit, expect him to be gone. I see us drafting a RB unless we land one through FA. I’d prefer a RB1 if Beane can get one in the 2nd round. If not, backup through the daft at rookie minimum. -
Any word from those stationed at the airport? Or those tracking the Pegula’s plane?

Don’t dispute what he has done for the team. Not at all. Carried them pretty much since he got here. If it wasn’t for a pass instead of run in the SB, they probably would have won that game. Albeit, he did toss the int. When I say primma donna, it’s more towards his off the field stuff. Wanting out? Would prefer players do it the way Watt did and discuss with management in private. Did he try to do it behind the scenes? Not sure. Did Watson? Pretty sure he tried and then went public. I guess I wonder what went wrong since 2019 when he signed a 4 year 140 million dollar contract, with a 65 million dollar signing bonus and 107 million in guarantees?

Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
davefan66 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was talking about how Beane, and McDermott, have set up our franchise to be a team the players love to be on. FA’s, current and draft picks working towards the same goals. As far as what Beane has/has not done regarding players like Gilmore? Again, not what I was talking about, but I’ll bite. Good riddance to him. Contract would have stopped us from keeping other players and depth. Every player can’t be paid 10 million per year. Need to have upper echelon players, along with good players who are paid less. Homegrown draft picks or 2nd tier FA’s both who contribute and complement the higher paid players. He may be a top 5 player, but he’s not the type of player they want. Pretty sure being in the AFC Championship game lends credence to what a good job Beane has done. -

Wonder what’s really happening behind the scenes that two of your star players want out so bad? Gotta love our organization and how Beane has set it up. -
The good thing about the current Bills is we are a competitive team, with players who love playing for the organization and have fallen in love with the town. Players like Watt aren’t a pipe dream like we’ve had to deal with in the past. If he comes in at a reduced salary with an easy way out if the first year doesn’t work, why not. Depends on the dollars and guarantees he really wants. My sense is he’s looking to win versus payday.

Yep. Need it for our house alarm to call out to emergency services. Plus the wife likes having it, feels someone won’t be able to reach us if we don’t have it. Not cheap, probably $40/month on spectrum. Not sure what my internet cost would be without it. Can go cellular for the alarm, $300-400 install fee and $5/month for service. She goes crazy wondering who it is now that the scammers spoof our exchange. Told her anyone we know that matters has one, or both of our cell’s. Still doesn’t compute.
